This car is so NICE!!

I am currently driving the LEXUS LS 430 so the miles will be a little more, NOT A LOT. Who wouldn't IT'S BY FAR THE NICEST DRIVING CAR I HAVE EVER HAD  I am 6' 5" tall and to my amazement fit very comfortably in the car and I find the TELESCOPING  leather seats very nice as well. By the way the leather seats look like they are new as well as the interior of the car, it even smells new still. I like this car so much I am having a hard time deciding to sell it or keep it. The exterior paint looks like new as well brilliant clear coat, with the exception of a couple of small rock chips on the side of the car and a little ding bottom left drivers side door (must look close to see) but want to describe it correctly. If I were to rate the car I would give it a 9.9 out of 10. Seroiusly this car really looks like it is new if I were to guess at the year by looking at it I would say it was a 2013!!

So many neat features I cant keep up with them all! So I will just list a few that I like and notice while driving...

* The Headlights are amazing High Intensity Discharge (HID) w/ Auto Leveling, CLEAN AND BRIGHT LIGHTS UP THE WHOLE STREET, love it!!

* Front Climate Controled Seats Cooled and Heated!! Rear Heated Seats as well!!

* Wood Steering Wheel fits like a glove and is in perfect condition!

* Intuitive Parking Assist, front and rear bumper sensors light up while your parking to let you know how close you are to the car next to you, as well as beep if you want it to!!

* Rear Sunshade keeps sun out and lights at night also automaticaly goes down when the car is placed in reverse.

* Drivers side seat lower seat telescopes in and out for short or tall people to support the lower legs.

* 290 Horsepower Engine 320 Pounds of Torque quiet and amazing performance!

* Electronic air Vents that Sweep right to left cooling and heating the front cabin.

* Rain Sensing Windshield Wipers that turn on Automaticaly When it rains!

* Michelin MXV4 Touring Tires with 80% Tread Left.

* I could go on all day about this car but the most important part is how clean this one is!!!

Includes Two Key Remotes, and all the books...

Lexus flagship LS 430 boasts 6-speed transmission, clubby interior

When Lexus, the upscale division of Japanese automaker Toyota, set out to restyle its flagship LS 430 luxury sedan, it hoped to draw even more men into the fold. The plan apparently has worked -- at least judging from the male side of this duo.

The new LS 430 has such new details as exposed dual exhaust tailpipes, more dramatically sculpted headlights and the first-time availability of 18-inch wheels with low-profile tires. It doesn't get an engine change, but it now boasts a performance-enhancing six-speed automatic transmission, which replaces a five-speed unit.

While the LS 430 has a base price of $55,125, our test vehicle cost $70,380 -- largely due to the addition of an $11,320 options package which included a Mark Levinson audio/navigation system, air suspension, and front-and-rear climate-control seats.

Anita was less enthusiastic about the revamped LS 430 after the power trunk closer developed a taste for her fake nails.

HE: I think I'm gonna hate myself in the morning for saying this, but the LS 430 may be my favorite Lexus. Maybe it's just a sign of encroaching old age, but I feel right at home behind the wheel. If it were my money, I'd probably spend it on a Jaguar, but I have to say that I like the Lexus a whole lot better than other luxury competitors like the BMW 7-Series and the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. The LS 430's leather- and wood-trimmed cabin has the ambience of an exclusive men's club or a great library. You just want to settle in that spacious seat behind the steering wheel and stay there for a good long time. It makes me almost regret that I gave up cigars and brandy. The LS 430 is one of the most sophisticated-looking competitors in a very tough segment of the market. And, frankly, I don't understand why you aren't raving about it.

SHE: You mean outside of the fact that I could never reach the massive door to shut it once I got behind the wheel? Or that the steering wheel felt too big? Or that the styling seemed less men's club and more stodgy to me? Oh, and the fact that it cost me 50 bucks to get my nails fixed after I got them crunched in the power trunk closer? I don't know what I did wrong. I popped the trunk with the remote key fob and the top came up slightly. I went to give it a boost up and it came down on my left hand. I still don't know how I managed to squeeze it out of there. I got a lot of sympathy once I made it over to the salon, though.

HE: Obviously, the Lexus isn't idiot-proof. You probably should have read the owner's manual before you tried fiddling with anything.

SHE: Forget about the cigars. Have you heard the expression "Put a pipe in it?"

HE: Gee, with throwaway lines like that, you could rent yourself out as a plumber's friend. Since we're getting technical, let's talk nuts and bolts. I'm a big fan of the standard adaptive fro nt lighting system -- headlights that turn in the direction of the steering wheel. It's a great feature that really improves your nighttime vision. We had the optional "smart access" system that allows the driver to unlock and start the car simply by touching the door handle, if the key fob is in your pocket. And the optional navigation system now integrates Bluetooth wireless technology, which allows passengers to make hands-free phone calls through the system's touch-screen control panel. I'm just not sure that a lot of buyers are going to swallow that $11,320 price tag on the Ultra Luxury options package that includes a lot of those high-tech features.

SHE: I give Lexus credit for including a lot of standard features on the restyled LS 430. New for 2004 are standard knee air bags for the driver and front passenger, along with side air curtains and bigger side air bags. That's a cut above such products as the new Volkswagen Phaeton, which surprisingly lacks knee air bags. We probably should note that despite all the upgrades in the '04 model, Lexus uses the same 4.3-liter double-overhead-cam V-8 engine that powered the 2003 model. So don't expect any change in the horsepower department or in the fuel-economy numbers.

HE: Yes, but with the help of that new six-speed transmission, the 430 now can accelerate from 0-60 in 5.9 seconds, compared to 6.3 seconds for the 2003 model. If that doesn't thrill you, honey, you can hop in the back seat of the LS 430. The goodies in that $11,000 options package extend to the rear compartment, where you can enjoy adjustable seats that can be heated or cooled, swivel-type reading lamps and sunshades on the doors. You can sit there and recover the next time you get your fingers stuck where they shouldn't have been in the first place.

Weekly Recap: Automakers rethink the definition of luxury

Sat, Jan 17 2015

Variety is the spice of life, but it's becoming a prerequisite for luxury carmakers in the ultra-competitive US market. The Detroit Auto Show was strong evidence of this reality. It's not enough to offer attractive and well-appointed cars and SUVs anymore. Luxury brands that want to be competitive need to invest in everything from high-powered supercars to clever hybrids. To be relevant, you need to be green and mean – and everything in between. As General Motors product chief Mark Reuss said after the reveal of the 640-horsepower Cadillac CTS-V: "We are not leaving anything on the table." He was speaking for Cadillac, but he might as well have been speaking for the luxury car market. The CTS-V debuted in Detroit about an hour after Lexus surprised showgoers with the reveal of the RC F GT3 race car and then announced ambitious plans to return to competitive racing. That almost overshadowed the fact Lexus had just revealed another potent addition to its growing F line, the 467-hp GS F. View 20 Photos But for luxury brands, it's not just about maximum horsepower for well-heeled enthusiasts or decadent amenities for the Grey Poupon set. Strong competition from all corners has forced automakers to refine and expand their lineups in ways unforeseen even a few years ago. Case in point: Mercedes-Benz finally has an answer to the BMW X6, rolling out the GLE coupe in Detroit. The X6, which blends coupe-like styling cues with some of the functionality of an SUV, debuted in 2008. Back then it was a punchline, but seven years and more than 260,000 sales later, the X6's success has compelled Benz to respond. Mercedes – one of the strongest proponents of diesel technology – also debuted the C350 plug-in hybrid sedan, which promises a range of 20 miles on electricity, though fuel economy figures were not announced. The car pairs Mercedes' well-received 208-hp turbocharged four-cylinder with an electric motor for total output of 275 hp and 443 pound-feet of torque. Meanwhile, Infiniti will add the Q30 hatchback to its lineup by the end of the year, new president Roland Kruger reiterated in Detroit. It's expected to be joined by a crossover variant, and the additions will help strengthen Infiniti in the United States and abroad. "While we're expanding our product line, we're also expanding our market reach," he said. That's something echoed by Jaguar executives, who are preparing to launch the brand's first crossover, the F-Pace, in 2016.

Lexus Eco Challenge rewards schools for clean water, briquette press projects

Fri, Feb 28 2014

Teams from one New Jersey high school and one Michigan middle school reversed the old adage by thinking locally and acting globally. And that strategy won them the grand prizes in the most recent edition of the Lexus Eco Challenge. The future is indeed bright. The Toyota luxury-vehicle division gave out a half-million dollars in this year's contest. One $30,000 grand prize was awarded to the Pinelands Eco Scienteers from Little Egg Harbor, NJ, which produced and distributed low-cost briquette presses to rural villages beset by deforestation. The other grand prize went to the E.T. Electrical Team from Byron Center West Middle School in Michigan. That middle-school group raised money to send water filters to Haiti, Kenya and the Philippines. Lexus also awarded eight $15,000 first-place awards, with the winners including high schools from California, Florida, Missouri and Pennsylvania as well as middle schools from Arizona, Michigan, North Carolina and Texas. A special shout out goes to Daniel Boone Area High School in Birdsboro, PA, where students created an educational and public-relations campaign to publicize algae-based biofuels. In all, Lexus has doled out more than $4 million in Eco Challenge awards in seven years. Check out Lexus's press release below. Students Get Dollars and Sense in Lexus Eco Challenge - $500,000 Awarded to Teams Who Learn About Environment and Community Empowerment Two Grand Prize Teams Earn $30,000 Eight $15,000 First Place Awards Given to Innovative High School and Middle School Teams Students Bring Ideas to a Larger Audience and Make a Positive Impact on the World TORRANCE, Calif., (Feb. 24, 2014) – It's a win, win situation! Communities become a better place, and students, teachers and schools have the chance to share $500,000 in scholarships and grants through the Lexus Eco Challenge. This year, the $30,000 Grand Prize winners are the Pinelands Eco Scienteers from Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey, and the E.T. Electrical Team from Byron Center, Michigan. The Lexus Eco Challenge is an educational program and contest that inspires and empowers young people to learn about the environment and take action to improve it. High school and middle school teams nationwide define an environmental issue that is important to them, develop an action plan to address the issue, implement the plan, and report on the results.

Final Lexus IS F rolls off assembly line in Japan, bound for US

Mon, 04 Aug 2014

We knew this day would come, but it's nonetheless a bit of a sad one for Lexus enthusiasts as the very last example of the IS F has rolled off the assembly line in Tahara, Japan. Decked out in its trademark bright blue, the final IS F is destined for a customer right here in the United States.
Far from just another now-defunct model in an endless succession, the IS F marked the first time that Lexus did a proper performance model, debuting in production guise at the 2007 Detroit Auto Show alongside the LFA concept long before the latter entered production and took the idea of the high-performance Lexus even further. The IS F may not have sold in huge numbers, but it definitely marked a milestone for Toyota's luxury division.
Don't cry too much, however, as the new RC F that effectively takes its place packs an even mightier punch. While both are powered by essentially the same 5.0-liter V8 engine mated to an eight-speed automatic driving the rear wheels, the outgoing sedan's 416 horsepower and 371 pound-feet of torque is easily outgunned by the new coupe's 450 hp and 383 lb-ft.
