For sale is a 2001 IS300 with 164k miles.
This car has a clean title-and was not involved or anywhere near the Sandy storm.
It drives and runs 100%-there are no check engine lights or any kind of warning lights.  Suspension is tight, and a little bit on the stiff side but thats also due to the 18" wheels.  Nothing rattles or feels loose, the car hugs the road like its glued.  Transmission is smooth and shifts perfectly, the tip-tronic feature works 100% as well.  I check the oil regularly and it does not burn or consume oil.  It has fairly new brakes all around, and I just serviced the e-brake recently as well.  One of the ABS sensors is bad and the ABS tends to kick in sometimes when coming to a complete stop and the peddle is full squeezed, brakes work fine otherwise.  It rides on 18" IFS style rims-that sit flush with the car wrapped in 245/30/18 Bridgestone Potenzas with plenty of life left-looks very clean.  Exterior is in 7/10 shape, the right front fender has some damage-pictured, the hood has some damage as well-pictured, there is some spotting on the hood, roof, and trunk of the car-it looks like it may had something spilled on it or may have sat under tree sap or bird poo.  Thats the way I bought it so I can't tell you exactly what happened, otherwise it is clean all around, theres no dents or major scratches anywhere else bedsides whats mentioned.  Interior is clean there are no rips, stains or odors, all electronics work 100%, it has power everything including driver and passenger heated seats, power windows and mirrors, sunroof and other small features.  It also has original Lexus Xenon lights, as well as yellow fog lights-one is out.
The spare tire is present, I do not have the original manuals or the original rims.
I am not the original owner so I do not know the service records.
If you have ANY questions, please feel free to ask.
It is a clean title (and will be sold with a dealer reassignment.)

IF YOU DO NOT INTEND ON BUYING-DO NOT BID!

TITLE AND ALL DOCUMENTS WILL BE RELEASED ONCE PAYMENT CLEARS MY BANK.

I WILL ONLY ACCEPT A DEPOSIT THROUGH PAYPAL-THE REST OF THE PAYMENT IS EITHER BY CASH, CERTIFIED BANK CHECK, OR A WIRE TRANSFER. IF YOU CHOOSE TO PAY THROUGH PAYPAL-YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR FEES.

I CAN ASSIST WITH SHIPPING IF NEEDED, I AM WILLING TO DO DELIVER THE CAR WITHIN A 100 MILE DISTANCE FOR A SMALL FEE AFTER I RECEIVE DEPOSIT.

THANK YOU FOR LOOKING-GOODLUCK.

Toyota fills in details about its future design direction and global platform

Fri, 25 Oct 2013

"In the future, out of 100 customers, we want to excite ten of them instead of not offending all 100."
Almost all of the details about the Toyota New Group Architecture (TNGA) strategy have come out since the initiative was first reported on in March of this year, but Autoblog did learn a few new things about it on a recent trip to Japan. Probably the second-most important detail is that each new segment platform will be based around a common hip point to create an "optimal driving position architecture."

Drive like a prince: Join us for a walk through Monaco's car collection

Fri, Dec 29 2023

Small, crowded, and a royal pain in the trunk lid to drive into during rush hour, Monaco sounds like an improbable location for a huge car museum. And yet, this tiny city-state has been closely linked to car culture for over a century. It hosts two major racing events every year, many of its residents would qualify for a frequent shopper card if Rolls-Royce issued one, and Prince Rainier III began assembling a collection of cars in the late 1950s. He opened his collection to the public in 1993 and the museum quickly turned into a popular tourist attraction. The collection continued to grow after his death in April 2005; it moved to a new facility located right on Hercules Port in July 2022. Monaco being Monaco, you'd expect to walk into a room full of the latest, shiniest, and most powerful supercars ever to shred a tire. That's not the case: while there is no shortage of high-horsepower machines, the first cars you see after paying ˆ10 (approximately $11) to get in are pre-war models. In that era, the template for the car as we know it in 2023 hadn't been created, so an eclectic assortment of expensive and dauntingly experimental machines roamed whatever roads were available to them. One is the Leyat Helica, which was built in France in 1921 with a 1.2-liter air-cooled flat-twin sourced from the world of aviation. Fittingly, the two-cylinder spun a massive, plane-like propeller. Government vehicles get a special spot in the museum. They range from a Cadillac Series 6700 with an amusing blend of period-correct French-market yellow headlights and massive fins to a 2011 Lexus LS 600h with a custom-made transparent roof panel that was built by Belgian coachbuilder Carat Duchatelet for Prince Albert II's wedding. Here's where it all gets a little weird: you've got a 1952 Austin FX3, a Ghia-bodied 1959 Fiat 500 Jolly, a 1960 BMW Isetta, and a 1971 Lotus Seven. That has to be someone's idea of a perfect four-car garage.  One of the most significant cars in the collection lurks in the far corner of the main hall, which is located a level below the entrance. At first glance, it's a kitted-out Renault 4CV with auxiliary lights, a racing number on the front end, and a period-correct registration number issued in the Bouches-du-Rhone department of France. It doesn't look all that different than the later, unmodified 4CV parked right next to it. Here's what's special about it: this is one of the small handful of Type 1063 models built by Renault for competition.

Lexus eschews production in China over quality concerns

Sat, 03 May 2014

One of the more popular trends in the auto industry is setting up production operations in China. Mainstream manufacturers like Ford, General Motors and Volkswagen have done it, and even luxury marques like Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz have or will soon have manufacturing ops in the People's Republic.
One company that isn't building cars in China, though, is Lexus. The Toyota-owned luxury brand still manufactures all of its vehicles in Japan (aside from a few RXs, which are built at a Toyota factory in Canada). According to Tokuo Fukuichi, Lexus just isn't ready to build cars there yet.
"The German Three have a brand image that they have cultivated over the past century in their long history, but Lexus is not in people's minds like that yet," Fukuichi-san told Reuters UK.
