2007 Lexus Gs450h Base Sedan 4-door 3.5l on 2040-cars
Cincinnati, Ohio, United States
Perfect condition Lexus GS450h hybrid with very low 59,500 miles (actually a little less but I have added some as my wife drives the car a couple times a week to shop). The car was given its 60K service at 59,100 miles in preparation for being offered for sale. While this car is in fact a hybrid (we get about 28 mpg overall) with regenerative braking, battery pack, and electric motor in addition to the gas engine, it is also a very fast car, the fastest Lexus offered the year built with 0-60 at 5.2 seconds. Yet the first thing you would notice when driving the car is the remarkable absence of noise getting underway, a quiet that is characteristic unless called upon to rocket away. And while the ride cossets the passengers, the spirited driver can engage Sport mode to stiffen the suspension and flatten the curves. Leather seating is both heated and ventilated. Seat memory restores your personal preference (or your spouse's) at the touch of a button. The interior is so quiet at speed that you and your passenger can converse quietly while driving--or you can hear that Mozart andante without turning the volume way up. The 14 speaker Mark Levinson sound system is unrivaled whether your taste runs to Mozart or The Dirty Dozen Brass Band--every drive can be a concert. You can receive (or make) a cell-phone call through the sound system at the touch of a button with Bluetooth pairing of your cell phone. The music will resume the moment you hang up.
This car is garage-kept and ding-free. |

Lexus previews LF-LC GT Vision Gran Turismo
Thu, Jan 29 2015Hot on the heels of the Alpine Vision Gran Turismo, the next in line to showcase its concept for GT6 is Lexus. Dubbed the LF-LC GT Vision Gran Turismo, the design is apparently based on that of the Lexus LF-LC concept that debuted at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show in red, reappeared in blue at the Australian Motor Show and is tipped to reach production as the LC 500. The virtual reality concept appears to encompass many of the same design cues, but in racing guise – not unlike the treatment Lexus applied to the RC F GT3 concept last year and with a similar white paintjob. More than that we couldn't tell you, but Polyphony Digital – the game studio responsible for the Gran Turismo franchise – says the official unveiling will follow soon.
Lexus readying hot IS F Coupe
Mon, 15 Jul 2013The 2014 Lexus IS sedan has been turning heads and dividing public opinion since we first drove it. Then, as now, we knew that a revamped IS F would be in the offing at some point, but until today we had know idea what form the Lexus would take.
Our first ever batch of 2015 Lexus IS F spy shots has just come across the transom, and the camouflaged coupe - that's right, there are just two doors this time out - is awfully intriguing at first glance. A much more aggressive front end is prominent, as is the slinky roofline that finishes in a pert rear end. The signature IS grille is still in effect here, at least in terms of the shape, and while the headlamps are covered up, we'd expect some variation of the slash-like units on the 2014 IS.
Hinting at the car's performance intentions are large slotted brake rotors with significantly sized calipers, all tucked in behind dark-finish wheels. Quad exhaust tips and a retractable spoiler can be seen at the back of the car.
Toyota aims to build autonomous car around 2020 [w/videos]
Tue, Oct 6 2015The race is on to get increasingly sophisticated forms of autonomous driving technology on the road, and brands like Tesla are bringing these solutions to some drivers now. But as one of the world's largest automakers, it's no surprise to see Toyota competing in the field, as well. By 2020, the company thinks a person could be largely unnecessary for freeway trips. With a suite of tech called the Highway Teammate, a modified Lexus GS is already showing what's possible. Using a combination of millimeter wave radar, LIDAR, and cameras, the GS gets a full view of the road, and software processes all of the info to make decisions. The result is a ride on the freeway without human interaction. The system can merge, change lanes, make passes, take curves, and maintain a safe distance from other vehicles. Accurate map data is a necessity to make this work, so the system currently only being tested on Tokyo's Shuto Expressway. While Highway Teammate might not be the best name, it accurately communicates the way Toyota thinks of the tech. The company is making big investments in artificial intelligence to assist drivers, not completely replace them. You can see the system in action in the video below, and the second clip's gravely serious narrator explains the company's idea of having a fully connected road someday. New Toyota Test Vehicle Paves the Way for Commercialization of Automated Highway Driving Technologies Toyota City, Japan, October 6, 2015-Toyota has been testing a new automated driving test vehicle called Highway Teammate, with the aim of launching related products by around 2020. In addition to demonstrating the capabilities of next-generation safety technologies, the vehicle represents Toyota's view of the evolving driver-car relationship in the age of artificial intelligence. Toyota believes that interactions between drivers and cars should mirror those between close friends who share a common purpose, sometimes watching over each other and sometimes helping each other out. Toyota refers to this approach as the Mobility Teammate Concept, and Highway Teammate represents an important first effort to give form to this concept.
