1995 Beluga Black RRC LWB, 154,000 miles. 1 owner vehicle

This 1995 RRC LWB was acquired by Congleton Racing team member Alexandra Hughes. This is a one-owner vehicle with over $50,000 of Dealer service receipts included, over $64,000 in service receipts total!

We love this car, especially the unblemished Beluga black paint with its new Range Rover lettering in the back. Unfortunately, we already have four and just cant keep every Classic!

If you are reading this ad, you are no doubt familiar with this last year of the RRC: Range Rover’s first and greatest attempt at an estate car. This is the super rare LWB Soft dash version, meaning Land Rover spent countless resources updating the platform, then only offered it for one year before switching to the unloved P38A. What this means for the owner is an updated, serpentine drive belt, equipped 4.2 liter engine (with fresh tune-up by CRR), performance ECU, performance exhaust, air suspension that is fully functional and soft dash creature comforts.

This vehicle separates itself from the herd of currently available classics for a couple reasons; first its air suspension is fully operational and reliable, having been meticulously serviced by the dealer for its entire 19 year life. Second all systems are fully operational, keyless entry, power seats, CD player, sunroof, cruise control the list is endless. Thirdly unlike most Classics which see dealer care for a few years and then are relegated to used car status, this vehicle was spared no expense. Rebuilt motor, rebuilt ZF trans, new remanufactured Borg Warner transfer box, all new fluids, AT tires with 95% tread life, unscathed wheels. The vehicle attains 80MPH without trying and while lowering itself automatically for improved handling! All the while running ice cold A/C and a worry free engine temp of 40% (185 degrees)

We have seen all the Classics at CRR and are so happy to offer this one to a good home. Too often we see examples of these complex vehicle neglected, off roaded and serviced by inexperienced personnel with sub standard parts. It is so refreshing to see there are a few of the elusive “1 owner” RRC cars out there; that were garage kept and cared for. By the way it has never been off road!

Below is a list of things that stand out to us with this vehicle; in no particular order-

Fully functional Fog lamps

Fully functional Driving lamps by Hella

Unscathed side steps, a genuine part no longer available

Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations could build standalone models

Sun, Mar 8 2015

Jaguar Land Rover may be set to turn its Special Vehicle Operations division into something much bigger than a mere in-house tuner. Bloomberg spoke to the head of JLR's high-performance, customization outfit, John Edwards, who hinted that his team may move beyond simply modifying F-Types, Range Rovers and the like. "We're certainly looking at that, and we've got the capability to do that," Edwards told AN. "Is there an opportunity for us to do a completely standalone car? Maybe." Such a move into full-scale, standalone models would be a big step, particularly for a division that's still kind of in its infancy. Bloomberg references the success of Mercedes-AMG, but the German division has had the benefit of decades of growth. AMG spent years and years building high-performance versions of all manner of mainstream Mercedes vehicles, before moving onto cars like the SLS AMG and AMG GT, which have no mainstream analog. In other words, AMG had a long time to develop a reputation building high-performance vehicles that people know and recognize before it moved into building vehicles of its own. We aren't entirely convinced that SpecOps wouldn't benefit from taking a similar approach, delivering additional SVR vehicles, like the rumored XE SVR, before striking out on its own. We'd like to know what you think, though. Is it already time for Special Vehicle Operations to build standalone models, or should it learn to walk before it runs by modifying more of Jaguar Land Rover's existing product. Have your say in Comments. Related Video:

Check out King Charles III's $17.6 million car collection

Fri, May 5 2023

King Charles III's coronation will take place in England on May 6, and being crowned a monarch comes with a long list of perks with four wheels. He will gain full access to the Royal Family's fleet of cars, which is valued at about GBP14 million (approximately $17.6 million). The two most expensive cars in the collection are nearly identical: they're a pair of Bentley State Limousine models (pictured) built for Queen Elizabeth II, King Charles III's mother, in 2002. Only two units were made, and they're both part of the Royal Family's fleet, so they're difficult to put a value on; it's not like one is going to end up listed on your favorite auction site anytime soon. British company Nationwide Vehicle Contracts, which compiled the list, estimates that each armored, 245-inch long sedan is worth at least GBP10,000,000 (roughly $12.6 million). Dropping below the eight-digit threshold, the second-most-valuable car in the Royal Family's fleet isn't really a car. It's the Gold State Coach, which Matchbox recently released a 1/64-scale replica of, and its value is estimated at GBP1.6 million (about $2 million). At 275 inches long it's even bigger than the Bentley limousine and it weighs about 9,000 pounds. It's 261 years old and designed to be pulled by eight horses, and has been part of every coronation since 1831. The rest of the Royal Family's vehicles are relatively mundane. There's a 1965 Aston Martin DB6 Volante that Queen Elizabeth II and her husband, Prince Phillip, bought for King Charles III on his 21st birthday. It's worth GBP1 million (about $1.2 million). The collection also includes a Rolls-Royce Phantom VI (about $627,000), a Bentley Bentayga (about $201,000), a Land Rover Range Rover long-wheelbase Landaulet ($133,000), a Jaguar XE (about $41,000), and a Land Rover Defender ($38,000). "Luxury cars have long been associated with the monarch and King Charles III, in particular, is known for his fondness of motor vehicles. His impressive collection features sentimental value with motors passed down from his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II, to cars bought for him by his parents," explained Keith Hawes, the director of Nationwide Vehicle Contracts, in an interview with CBS News. Being at the head of a car-making nation's royal family also comes with drawbacks: Every vehicle in King Charles III's fleet is British.

Jaguar Land Rover said to favor Europe rather than US for new plant

Sat, Feb 21 2015

With its plants running at full tilt, Jaguar Land Rover is in desperate need of additional manufacturing capacity. That's led to reports that the Indian-owned British company was looking to join European, Japanese and Korean automakers in America's southern states, all while it opened new plants in the UK and China. The company even announced it would be building the Land Rover Discovery Sport in Brazil. Now, though, reports are suggesting that JLR is looking at Europe for a new facility, rather than the US, with Automotive News claiming the company's execs are eyeing the lower costs afforded by Austria and Turkey. The report cites the Birmingham Post (UK), the broadsheet that's closest to the company's headquarters. According to the original report, labor costs and wage disputes with unions are ruling out another factory in the UK, while those same disputes with labor outfits may also be souring the automaker on a US facility. "At this stage Europe seems more likely than America. The union pay dispute had a big effect," an unnamed source told the Post. "There is a feeling of alienation that has been left over from the way the pay talks were handled." JLR, meanwhile, offered a solid no comment to the Post, with a spokesperson saying, "No decision has been taken on future manufacturing locations. We will continue to evaluate opportunities to increase our manufacturing footprint in the future." Related Video:
