I purchased this car approximately 12-14 months ago for my daughter from an elderly couple who purchased new.  The car was pampered / garage kept and never abused or mistreated.  All maintenance was performed at the dealership & the owners were very meticulous to assure proper preventative maintenance.  The Land Rover was one of many cars in their stable and therefore was not daily driven.  My daughter has recently relocated to NY and has no use for the car there and therefore it is being sold only for that reason as if I had enough garage space to store all of our cars I would keep it for myself.

The safari rack & rear access ladder seen in some of the images below were recently purchased new and added to the truck.  While these additions really complete the look of the Rover we have no issue removing them for any buyers who prefer it without them and adjusting the price to reflect the removal accordingly.

NOTE : THIS CAR IS LOCATED IN MYRTLE BEACH, SOUTH CAROLINA AND IS AVAILABLE TO VIEW OR DRIVE ANYTIME.  WE ARE SELLING TO ANYONE WITHIN THE CONTINENTAL US HOWEVER ALL SHIPPING COSTS WILL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE BUYER AND SETTING UP SHIPPING WILL ALSO BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE BUYER.  IF YOU ARE NOT LOCAL, PLEASE BE AWARE THAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PICKUP / SHIPPING.  WE EXPECT PAYMENT IN FULL WITHIN 5 DAYS OF AUCTION END, AND ARE HAPPY TO HOLD THE CAR FOR AS LONG AS YOU NEED UNTIL THE PICKUP TAKES PLACE.

<<< IMPORTANT : READ >>> We have spared no expense with scheduling any necessary preventative maintenance on this truck and please be sure that you view the receipt attached in the images below.  This truck will be sold with the records showing all maintenance & work performed.  We recently began to hear an intermittent ticking noise coming from the engine bay and therefore immediately took the car to a Land Rover specialist to diagnose while performing the 90K service and many more jobs that most would skip over.  Below you will find the receipt for this very in depth appointment totaling to $4300.  This job was performed less than 800 miles ago and EVERYTHING that could need to be replaced on the car at 90K was handled during this service in order to be certain that this ticking noise was not harmful to the engine or a sign of anything worse than a simple noise.  After this job we also had the thermostat replaced and upgraded to a black steering wheel in excellent condition.  This car is ready to go and that service job alone is over half of the asking price!  The service work / wheels / ladder & rack total to almost what we are asking for the truck as a whole.  After spending $5,000 in service work we were given a clean bill of health and told that the car is as strong as a tank however the ticking noise will come and go and will continue to do so, however were told that the noise was in no way harmful to the engine.  We are happy to reference the specialist who did the work for you to speak with in regards to all of the work performed.  The Rover is currently in use until it is claimed by a new owner at which point it will be detailed one last time before changing ownership - It is steady & sound with the exception of the ticking noise that comes and goes from time to time - again, this noise is still present but we were informed that it is in no way harmful to the engine and will not progress.

<<< IMPORTANT : READ >>> The running boards are now removed from the truck and the safari rack & rear access ladder are currently installed.  THIS AUCTION IS FOR THE ENTIRE PACKAGE INCLUDING THE SAFARI RACK & LADDER BUT NOT THE RUNNING BOARDS.  Please view all images and message me to request additional images so that you may see all aspects of this car.

$8,000 (Adjusted if you would like the rack / ladder removed)

Question of the Day: What's the greatest British car ever?

Fri, Jul 15 2016

The British automotive industry has produced everything from high-production econo-commuters to staggeringly luxurious oligarch-wagons, along the way winning plenty of races and building plenty of beautiful machines. The original Mini led directly to the past half-century of transverse-engine, front-wheel-drive cars built everywhere, the MGB put the sporty little convertible into everyone's reach, and the Morris Oxford became the most beloved motor vehicle in India. So many to choose from, but we want you to pick one. What will it be? Related Video:

NHTSA, IIHS, and 20 automakers to make auto braking standard by 2022

Thu, Mar 17 2016

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and virtually every automaker in the US domestic market have announced a pact to make automatic emergency braking standard by 2022. Here's the full rundown of companies involved: BMW, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Ford, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Jaguar Land Rover, Kia, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Subaru, Tesla, Toyota, Volkswagen, and Volvo (not to mention the brands that fall under each automaker's respective umbrella). Like we reported yesterday, AEB will be as ubiquitous in the future as traction and stability control are today. But the thing to note here is that this is not a governmental mandate. It's truly an agreement between automakers and the government, a fact that NHTSA claims will lead to widespread adoption three years sooner than a formal rule. That fact in itself should prevent up to 28,000 crashes and 12,000 injuries. The agreement will come into effect in two waves. For the majority of vehicles on the road – those with gross vehicle weights below 8,500 pounds – AEB will need to be standard equipment by September 1, 2022. Vehicles between 8,501 and 10,000 pounds will have an extra three years to offer AEB. "It's an exciting time for vehicle safety. By proactively making emergency braking systems standard equipment on their vehicles, these 20 automakers will help prevent thousands of crashes and save lives," said Secretary of Transportation Anthony Foxx said in an official statement. "It's a win for safety and a win for consumers." Read on for the official press release from NHTSA. Automakers making the commitment are Audi, BMW, FCA US LLC, Ford, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Jaguar Land Rover, Kia, Maserati, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi Motors, Nissan, Porsche, Subaru, Tesla Motors Inc., Toyota, Volkswagen and Volvo Car USA.

BMW and Jaguar Land Rover to jointly develop electric car tech

Wed, Jun 5 2019

FRANKFURT – BMW and Jaguar Land Rover on Wednesday said they will jointly develop electric motors, transmissions and power electronics, unveiling yet another industry alliance designed to lower the costs of developing electric cars. Both carmakers are under pressure to roll out zero-emission vehicles to meet stringent anti-pollution rules, but have struggled to maintain profit margins faced with the rising costs of making electric, connected and autonomous cars. "Together, we have the opportunity to cater more effectively for customer needs by shortening development time and bringing vehicles and state-of-the-art technologies more rapidly to market," said BMW board member Klaus Froehlich. BMW and Jaguar Land Rover said they will save costs through shared development, production planning and joint purchasing of electric car components. Both companies will produce electric drivetrains in their own manufacturing facilities, BMW said. The BMW Jaguar Land Rover pact comes as rivals FiatChrysler and Renault explore a $35 billion tie-up of the Italian-American and French carmaking groups. Nick Rogers, Jaguar Land Rover's engineering director said, "We've proven we can build world beating electric cars but now we need to scale the technology to support the next generation of Jaguar and Land Rover products." BMW was in talks with rival Daimler about developing electric car components but was also in discussions with Jaguar Land Rover, a company it once owned, to explore an alliance on engines. BMW already has a deal to supply an 8 cylinder engine to Jaguar Land Rover. Carmakers are increasingly open to sharing electric car parts because the technology is expensive and because customers no longer buy a car based on what engine a vehicle has. "Carmakers are much less precious about sharing electric car technology because it is much harder to create product differentiation with electric car tech. They all accelerate fast, and everybody can do quality and ride and handling," according to Carl-Peter Forster a former chief executive of Tata Motors and a former BMW executive. Jaguar Land Rover is still run by former BMW managers, including Ralf Speth the company's chief executive who spent 20 years at BMW prior to joining JLR, and Wolfgang Ziebart, the engineer who oversaw Jaguar's I-Pace electric car program, who is a former head of research and development at BMW.
