It's fitted with oversize tires that really excel off-road or in any type of rugged terrain. This defender will happily sit at 65mph on the interstate and if you push it could do around 75mph max. I have personally driven this vehicle for 200 miles back and forwards to my office and home and on a couple of trips. Everywhere you pull up people are asking questions and love the look of it. We have had gone thru the truck and ensured there is no major problems, the door bottoms were replaced with genuine land rover repair sections, the bulkhead is solid with no holes, the cross member is in great shape as-well. The mileage on the truck is 158k, but the engine is in great condition and starts first time everytime without smoking or using any fluids, we just have had the transmission rebuilt. The truck has paperwork and some service history from england including annual inspection records. We have a clean Florida title on the vehicle and it's ready to assign a tag on it. We can assist with title transfer to other states and shipping if needed or if your a Florida buyer we can assign a Tag and issue a temporary one. Engine We have checked everything over, and ensured that it's in good working order with all fluids topped up oil and filter was changed. Body, We replaced the door bottoms on all 5 doors with geniune replacement land rover parts. The truck has a nice white paint job, in very good shape has some minor imperfections Interior We redid the interior of this truck, see pics, black seats with white cross stitching with suede head liner. Brakes & Running gear All the brakes were checked over and cleaned, the running gear and UJ's were greased and adjusted where needed. The Engine The engine is in great shape, starts first time, and drives great. It holds a good temperature and doesn't use coolant or oil. The Transmission We just had the standard LT transmission rebuilt. It was starting to get sloppy so we had the box pulled apart and new genuine parts installed by specialist transmission shop for land rover gear boxes. it shifts between all gears no problems without any noises or rattles etc, the 4low and diff locks work on the transfer case as they should. The Chassis The chassis is the original chassis and in very good condition, both it's vin tags are still clearly visible and untouched, it's has some slight surface rust, as would any vehicle that's 25 years old. nothing a wire wheel and some paint couldn't sort. The VIN number is SALLDHMB8EA337485 Below I had decoded it so you can see it's an original vehicle. BMW tops Consumer Reports 2023 Brand Report Card
Thu, Feb 16 2023Feels like we wrote about Consumer Reports' 2022 Brand Report Car and 10 Top Picks a few weeks ago, but it was last April. So the mag is back with a ranked roster of 32 brands and 10 vehicles in four categories for your debating pleasure. Starting with the brands, last year's top three were Subaru, Mazda and BMW. This year, the Munich crew climbed two spots to win the prize thanks to "Superb road test scores and solid results in CR’s reliability and owner satisfaction surveys." Subaru narrowly fell to second, maintaining its four-year run in the top three. Mini, eighth last year, jumped five spots to get the last step on the podium. The rest of the top 10 were Lexus (up one spot from last year), Honda (down one spot from last year), Toyota (up three), Genesis (up 12), Mazda (down six), Audi (down three) and Kia (up eight). The magazine and testing outfit says its Brand Report Card "[reveals] which automakers are producing the most well-performing, safe, and reliable vehicles based on CRÂ’s independent testing and member surveys," and that "Brands that rise to the top tend to have the most consistent performance across their model lineups." Last year's top 10 had six automakers from Japan, three from Germany (giving Mini credit for England), none from the U.S. or South Korea, and five luxury brands. This year's list counts five makes from Japan, two from Germany because Porsche fell out of the top ten, two from South Korea, still none from the U.S., and four luxury brands. Buick again ranked as the best domestic, dropping to 12th after being 11th last year. The big mover was Lincoln, its 10-place jump up to 16th attributed to better reliability from the Corsair and Nautilus. Tesla's improved overall reliability saw it climb six spots to 17th. Dodge climbed one spot to 15th. Jeep got out of the penalty box in last to come second-to-last. Land Rover fell three places into the penalty spot. CR's top 10 vehicle models The 10 Top Picks list is practically a new list. Only two holdovers made it to 2023, those being the Subaru Forester and Kia Telluride.
Best luxury SUVs of 2022 and 2023
Mon, Sep 12 2022Once upon a time, the idea of a luxury SUV meant a Range Rover, and even that was pretty agricultural by modern standards. Then Jeep Grand Cherokees and Ford Explorers started offering fancy, range-topping versions followed soon by Lexus, BMW and Mercedes dipping their toes in the water. And then the floodgates opened. Today, there is a staggering number of luxury SUVs available in every shape, size and price point. There are electric luxury SUVs like the Tesla Model X and Jaguar I-Pace, as well as gas-swilling, high-performance SUVs like the BMW X5 M and Cadillac Escalade V. Sports car makers Porsche, Aston Martin and Lamborghini have even dived in. But of this great many, which are the best luxury SUVs? We sat down, scoured our reviews, took some votes, had some discussions and came up with the luxury SUVs we view as the best. They are listed alphabetically within the six segments listed below. Best Subcompact Luxury SUV  |  Best Compact Luxury SUV  |  Best Midsize Luxury SUV (Two-Row) Best Midsize Luxury SUV (Three-Row)  |  Best Flagship Luxury SUV (Two-Row)  |  Best Flagship Luxury SUV (Three-Row) Best subcompact luxury SUVs Mercedes-Benz GLB-Class Why it stands out: Outstanding space and versatility; legit luxury interior; amusing GLB 35 versionCould be better: Overwhelming and confusing tech interface Most subcompact luxury SUVs are a dubious value, with cramped interiors of marginal quality and unrefined driving dynamics. You'd be much better off paying less money for a loaded, non-luxury compact SUV. The Mercedes GLB is different, though. Its boxy design provides space few other subcompact SUV can match (luxury or otherwise), while its cabin design and feature content are in keeping with pricier Mercedes models. The quality's not exactly up to GLC standards, nor is driving refinement, but the difference is appropriate for how much you're saving and still perfectly acceptable. There's nothing dubious about buying a GLB.   Volvo XC40 Why it stands out: More features for the money; spacious and versatile interior; distinctive design; electric versionCould be better: Fuel-efficient base engine only available with FWD Most subcompact luxury models feel a bit like cheap knockoffs of their bigger, pricier brand mates. The XC40, by contrast, is a break from the Volvo norm in a good way.
