Imported from the UK market 15 year eligible Land Rover Defender 110's c/w 300 Tdi diesel engine's with 12 seats good order and are currently road registered and have annual safety inspection.

This particular beauty has landed in Canada prior to export it was prepared to a high standard by the same company that we have sourced multiple vehicles from for US exports as a tried & trusted source, the vehicle was professionally painted (roof off) has the desirable Puma style hood c/w corresponding current raised lettering, It also benefits from having brand new Exmoor Trim Hi Back seats front & rear with the Land Rover ovals in the fabric (see photos), the vehicle is updated and is known to be well maintained throughout.

The vehicle is right hand drive as per 75 million other cars on the roads in commonwealth countries and all the controls and pedals are in the same relevant locations as would be if fitted 3 ft away if was built as a leftie - we can for an additional cost of $5k convert to LHD.

We will entertain serious offers on this particular vehicle - normally to build a vehicle of this spec can take close to a year but here she is ready to roll and enjoy for the summer!

This is a truly gorgeous Defender – iconic – pure and simple. This Defender model is a 110 Station Wagon  It’s powered by the ever popular, simple and easily maintained 300 TDi engine and has the 5-speed R380 gearbox. This particular model of Defender is desirable for all sorts of buyers: any mechanic can maintain it, there’s no complicated electronics or technology, parts are cheap, and its green: every man or woman’s Defender! big wet dogs really like them as well (We sell dog guards & seat-covers!)

At Global British -  Defenders we love them and the service and work we put into them is admired and appreciated by many we are the ONLY shop that creates an online work portfolio & post full stage by stage updates for all to see – lol in fact we know many rivals look at our site to see how we do work!

Having covered a very reasonable average 140k miles from new you’re probably asking yourselves how many miles has she got left? Here’s your answer; plenty. we always validate that the timing belt and tensioner HAS been changed at 85k Anybody who has the slightest idea about Defenders will know these wonderful machines run on and on. Look after her by way of yearly servicing and having the odd ‘tinkle’ here and there and she will serve you kindly and put the biggest grin across you're face doing so.

DIESEL TURBO - Can be run on Bio-Diesel very basic overhead valve engine can be worked upon by any competent home mechanic- single timing belt an idler & tensioner pulley.

Box section chassis c/w beam axles & coil springs all round,  5 speed Transmission c/w 2 speed transfer case with drum for 4 wheel e-brakes - FULL TIME FOUR WHEEL DRIVE - with differential locking of the transfer case - the real deal still in use by the British Army & countless other militaries & aid organizations the world over, extremely easy to work upon everything unbolts with basic tools - Still being produced today by hand alongside the robotized production line of the Range Rover flagship!, full aluminum body - parts are interchangeable over 60 years of evolution.

We have a full range of parts at 1/3 less than main dealer prices and can ship anywhere you can get this truck, we bring pallets and containerized orders constantly & we pay the freight to our door.

These will get you everywhere & are indispensable workhorses -

This sourced Land Rover will be imported into Ontario with clear Canadian title which can be used in Canada province wide under the 15 year rule for imported trucks exempt from the Transport Canada RIV program according to there website and the agent that confirmed on the phone the 15 year rule is under review due to a vast amount of Japanese performance importation it is envisaged that the rule will be extended to 25 years to match the USA of which Canada follows all there vehicle safety standards anyway.

We can convert to Left Hand Drive for an additional $5000  - You can email us directly or call 1 613 473 5263

We are not interested in trades offers of land nor Rolex watches if you do not know what a Defender actually is look it up on the web any questions relating to what is clearly put in this listing will be deleted along with any ridiculous offers of $20 bucks that is more a waste of your time than ours!

We also import directly from the UK Defender 90 and 110/130/150 Crew Cabs & Utilities US age compliant and can also build from correctly sourced donor vehicles current specification or late model Defenders and put onto refurbished age related rolling refurbished galvanized 1986 110 Defender chassis with the TD5 rear cross-member for US buyers we can fit the chassis as a 1986 thus making it eligible for importation into the USA price is negotiable and we can offer suspension lift kits and other options such as Poly-bush kit & roof-racks etc

We have attached other photos of how the trucks are containerized and brought over direct to us because of the costly nature of doing this we sell to order as it would cost many hundreds of thousands to have a row of these for people to kick the tires for those that know what they want we have a proven record of doing this for close to 10 years.

You contact us for details through our about us page – Due to eBay rules we are not allowed to put our hyperlink into the listing as they forbid it – pointless really considering our e-commerce eBay store is hosted & populated from that same site, we are on all social media platforms under GlobalBritishInc

We have been on eBay for over 10 years with 100% feedback with over 660 glowing reviews.

Or you can call us 1 613 473 5263.

Now for the most typical questions we get all the time

Can I send my mechanic to check it out?

Sure your can bring anyone you like to see the work we do and if there is another Defender here for one of our existing customers you are more than welcome to inspect our workmanship during business hours we do not work on a Saturday as most people do not, if you are committed then you will make the time.

Can I send you endless emails with a gazillion questions and waste your time from working on other customers trucks because even though ive always wanted one I really like to sound important to myself and get people to run about asking the questions that the internet has all & more answers ill ever need but I am the most interesting person I know and I like to lead sellers in this economy a merry dance :-)

Defiantly no please look on eBay for model trucks to play with – we are uber busy thanks

Can you quote me for a truck that CAN be imported into the USA

Yes we can but this requires the purchase of another age related Canadian donor vehicle that is exempt under Section E of the EPA import list, & the costs of transfer of parts & labor then you can collect the completed vehicle from our door on Canadian temporary plates and with the Canadian used vehicle information pack supplied from the MTO drive over to the USA and register at your local DMV – if the state has certain rules for emissions that preclude it being registered in that state then you will have to arrange for a relative to register in a more cohesive state then internal transfer yourself at your own risk & behest – we are Canadian and we know our laws intimately it is not our occupation to do what is at hand for the buyer in another country.

Ive seen these cheaper in Europe why are you charging more?

Because we are English Ex-Pats we know the laws of the UK, for example you find a Defender in the UK for a couple of thousand pounds – you race to do a currency conversion and then look at shipping costs and it all looks good, the reality is that in the UK there are a lot of council house estates – project housing if you like – anybody called Steve or Eric can make a listing using an i-phone they will be more than delighted to accept your wired deposit, But is the sale legitimate?, is the truck your buying the one you will ever see? is it still under finance ie a lien? are they able to get the export certificates?, be prepared to move the truck hundred's of miles to Southampton or Liverpool (the latter is a war-zone of petty crime not all of the UK is the Queen Trooping the Color & bobbies on the beat with sticks – they carry HK MP5's these days), are they prepared to rent a tilt load truck to load the Land Rover into a container After it has been steam-cleaned to ISO9001, & then drain the fluids and provide the webbing straps along with signs stating do not start no oil and giving the location for the VIN plates to aid customs inspection, even if you got the vehicle into a container a 20 foot container from the UK to Canada is 5100 USD hence why we do 40fts @ $6700 apiece – then you will need a bonded customs broker to clear it they need a Canadian business number WITH an import license on the federal database, IF for any reason that customs wants to inspect it - Then you have to pay the shipping company to unstack it and take to a bonded warehouse and after inspection have it repacked IF they decide it needs a re-clean after this exercise then that is another cost, all the time the rental of the containers clock is ticking they make these metal boxes earn there keep so they charge another $100 per day demurrage costs, once its cleared customs you have to pay HST on the declared value of the truck, IF they find that the original engine does not match the UK DVLA export documents lets say its 3 years newer – sounds good but its the death blow – the truck is not compliant and must be destroyed or returned to port of origin. once its cleared customs then you have to collect it – because it is not on Canadian plates its either a recovery truck or a trailer and you will need a big truck to pull the combined load – the Defender is actually overweight for the standard u-haul trailer you have to arrange for the larger capacity type, All in all that cheap Defender in Scotland wasn’t much of a bargain was it?

We factor all this in and have cut it to the bone because we have done it many times importing vehicles & parts from the UK, its a tight deal yes were going to make a profit – knowledge and wheels in place is an expensive learning curve if we had a few hundred thousand on hand then we would quite easily have a nice pretty row on site and hence jump the price by at least 5k more :-), My apologies if you did not like the reality check but that is from personal experience – we have trod the path and know our stuff.

The point to ask yourself is - are you going to buy a truck from a person that does not have a registered garage without there house alongside and do they offer the full service? - were not talking rotors & pads - Can they change the chassis or do the valve timing or rebuild the engine if they don't cover these basic points then they are just ripping off the real players in the trade that have invested in full Land Rover diagnostics who's entire staff own & drive Land Rovers & are members of local clubs and actually are passionate about the brand - At Globalbritish we have main franchised dealers on our books because we can supply obsolete or alternative or recycled parts that they cannot get through corporate channels. our labor rate of $75hr has not changed in 3 years - we are the answer to running a rover at a reasonable price but we do recommend the line We didn't build it, We didn't buy it & We didn't break it, so if owning a Land Rover is out of your budget remember there is more to owning a luxury brand than being able to buy it - they are just like any other vehicle - maintain it then it last years - abuse it then its worthless - but we will be happy to recycle it for other Rovers to carry on :-)

This Or That: 1987 VW Vanagon Syncro vs. 1987 Land Rover Defender [w/poll]

Thu, 13 Nov 2014

As I scoured auction sites and classified ads for the perfect vehicle to take into battle with Autoblog Associate Editor Brandon Turkus, I knew I needed to find something unique. You see, I'm currently 0-2 at winning a round of This or That, in which two of our editors agree on a category, choose a side, and argue it out over a (mostly) friendly chain of emails.
The first time we did this, my chosen Fiat 500 Abarth took about a third of the popular vote in our reader poll. The second time, my lovely 1980 Oldsmobile 442 did just a little bit better against a 1989 BMW 635 CSi. Despite holding the opinion that my automotive choices, though perhaps a little bit more... obscure than my fellow editors, are still better, an outright win would go a long way toward boosting my vehicular self worth a few notches upward.
With all of that out of the way, even if three isn't my lucky number after all, I go into battle against Brandon knowing full well that I've made the perfect choice: A 1987 Volkswagen Vanagon Syncro. My rough-and-tumble van/'ute has a formidable opponent in the form of a 1987 Land Rover Defender, which, truth be told, is exactly what I was expecting from Turkus, a self-proclaimed Rover aficionado.

Jaguar Land Rover backs Arc startup that sells $100,000 electric motorcycles

Wed, Nov 7 2018

Before it even put its first motorcycle on the road, new startup Arc reeled in a major player to back its ambitious product plan. In conjunction with the reveal of the fully electric Vector superbike at the Esposizione Internazionale Ciclo Motociclo e Accessori ( EICMA) show in Milan, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) announced it is placing capital in Arc, using JLR's investment company InMotion Ventures. Arc claims the Vector is the first all-electric motorcycle with integrated Human Machine Interface (HMI) to come to market. Arc, not to be confused with Keanu Reeve's Arch motorcycle company, has a pretty typical mission statement: "To use progressive design and technology to transform people's relationship with an automative experience. For us, for you, for our planet." At the core, Arc wants to make connected, clean, exclusive superbikes, and the Vector is its first try. Although Arc didn't get into the nitty gritty details about the make-up of the bike, it did give some surface specs and information. The bike's structure is built using a carbon composite to create a "unique Arc battery monocoque." Weight is also kept low using carbon fiber swing arms. There is no mention of the size or type of electric powertrain, but Arc claims it will have a highway range of about 120 miles or a city range of 170 miles on a single charge. Arc says it will be able to sprint from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 2.7 seconds and has a top speed of 124 mph. Stopping power comes from a Brembo brake system, while ride and handling relies on Ohlins dampers. The launch does not stop at the motorcycle, but includes gear, as well. The Vector links up with a jacket and a helmet for a fully connected experience. Partnering with U.K.-based impact protection design company Knox, Arc created the Arc Pilot System. Using audio, the armored Origin riding jacket provides haptic feedback based on numerous riding inputs to help keep the driver safe and aware. Furthermore, Arc linked up with luxury helmet maker Hedon to build the WiFi-connected Zenith helmet that houses an integrated projection heads-up display. In addition to showing things such as speed or battery life of the bike, the helmet uses a built-in rear camera to display other vehicles in the rider's blind spots. The rider can command the system using controls on the bike or via voice commands.
