2002 Land Rover Range Rover Hse Sport Utility 4-door 4.6l on 2040-cars
Chicago, Illinois, United States
Selling my 2002 Range Rover HSE. I am the third owner of this truck, and it has been a wonderful vehicle to own. I am downsizing as I live in Chicago now, and just need something a bit smaller.
Here is a list of all of the new parts and work done within the last 12 months on this truck:
New Radiator ($550.00)
New Alternator ($750.00)
New Battery ($200.00)
New Spark Plugs ($100.00)
New Spark Plug Wires (This is a $1000.00 job at the dealer)
New Ignition Coil Pack ($300.00)
New Front End Parts: ($850.00)
Steering Damper -
Tie Rod Ends
Ball Joints
New Drag Link
New Shocks - ($250.00)
Conversion to Coil-Over suspension (no air suspension to worry with) ($1800.00)
Had drivers seat recovered in original leather (looks brand new, you'd never know it wasn't a factory original) ($300.00)
New brakes (rotors and pads) done 100 miles ago (400.00)
I maintain this vehicle myself. I religiously change the oil and filter every 2500 miles, and have done the whole 90,000 mile service including changing all the fluids in the differentials and transmission fluid and filter and transfer case fluid (roughly 7,000 miles ago) as well as have done the above work (or had it done professionally)
It's obvious I have cared for this truck and have tried to keep it in tip-top shape. The result is an exceptional luxury SUV that runs strong, doesn't leak any fluid (amazing for a land rover!) and all options work as they should (with the exception of the A/C - needs a recharge)
The truck drives straight and tight, and has a good set of Toyo Proxes on it with about 50-60% tread left. This has been my daily driver for a few years, and I wouldn't hesitate to drive this truck anywhere in the country.
This truck is a pleasure to drive - they have every option you can think of - heated seats, leather, navigation, sunroof, etc, and anyone who has owned one of these will tell you the all wheel drive is legendary. Over this past terrible winter in Chicago I drove the truck every day, and it was just like taking a drive in the springtime, you'd never even know there was a flake of snow on the ground.
The reserve price is far less than the amount of the repairs/parts listed above. Have a look at the autocheck on this truck, scored an 84 out of a range of 60-83 for similar vehicles - only 3 owners and less than average miles driven per year. Bid with confidence! Feel free to contact me with any questions on the truck, or if you'd like to come see it in person!
Please note - mileage may change slightly, I am driving the truck to work still occasionally.
Thank you for looking! |

Xcar drives Jaguar C-X75, other Spectre villains of 007
Thu, Oct 29 2015James Bond returns to US theaters very soon in Spectre, and with the action-packed film wrapped, the producers are lending out the keys to some of the movie's automotive stars. We've already seen Jay Leno behind the wheel of Bond's Aston Martin DB10. Now, Xcar's Alex Goy has taken a turn in some of the flick's villainous rides from Jaguar Land Rover, including a very special Jaguar C-X75. The crew from JLR's Special Vehicle Operations team certainly did an impressive job of giving the movies baddies some appropriately nefarious rides. To challenge Bond, they turned the Land Rover Defender into a beast with chunky, off-road tires and blinding-spot lights. They also made the Range Rover Sport SVR even more diabolical than normal with a blacked-out look and LED lightbar. Of course, the king of Spectre's villain cars is the C-X75. According to Goy, most of the ones in the movie use the company's 5.0-liter, supercharged V8, but two are actually original prototypes with the hybrid setup. He gets to drive one of those special examples in this clip. While limited to some low-speed cruising, the coupe still looks wonderfully menacing on the road. Related Video:
Jaguar Land Rover said to favor Europe rather than US for new plant
Sat, Feb 21 2015With its plants running at full tilt, Jaguar Land Rover is in desperate need of additional manufacturing capacity. That's led to reports that the Indian-owned British company was looking to join European, Japanese and Korean automakers in America's southern states, all while it opened new plants in the UK and China. The company even announced it would be building the Land Rover Discovery Sport in Brazil. Now, though, reports are suggesting that JLR is looking at Europe for a new facility, rather than the US, with Automotive News claiming the company's execs are eyeing the lower costs afforded by Austria and Turkey. The report cites the Birmingham Post (UK), the broadsheet that's closest to the company's headquarters. According to the original report, labor costs and wage disputes with unions are ruling out another factory in the UK, while those same disputes with labor outfits may also be souring the automaker on a US facility. "At this stage Europe seems more likely than America. The union pay dispute had a big effect," an unnamed source told the Post. "There is a feeling of alienation that has been left over from the way the pay talks were handled." JLR, meanwhile, offered a solid no comment to the Post, with a spokesperson saying, "No decision has been taken on future manufacturing locations. We will continue to evaluate opportunities to increase our manufacturing footprint in the future." Related Video:
Jaguar Land Rover won't get a bailout from the UK
Sun, Aug 16 2020Bailout talks between Jaguar Land Rover and Tata Steel with the UK government have ended, leaving both firms to rely on private financing to overcome the impact of coronavirus on business, the Financial Times reported on Friday. The report said that talks for an emergency funding fell through as Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) did not qualify for taxpayer support. It is the luxury car unit of India's Tata Motors and Tata Steel, both owned by Indian conglomerate Tata Group. The bailout plan, titled "Project Birch", had been authorized by Finance Minister Rishi Sunak in May to rescue companies that are seen as strategically important, with the Treasury saying it may step in to support crucial businesses on a "last resort" basis after other options run out. The report, citing a source familiar with the matter, said that the funding scheme became infeasible for Tata as it imposed strict conditions on any lending. "Tata Steel remains in ongoing and constructive talks with the UK Government on areas of potential support," Tata Steel said in an emailed statement. The UK Treasury said it would not comment on individual companies. Tata Motors did not immediately respond to request for comment. Related Video: Earnings/Financials Government/Legal Jaguar Land Rover
