1995 Land Rover Range Rover County Classic Sport Utility 4-door 3.9l on 2040-cars
Montebello, California, United States
You've found it! A very sharp example of the SWB 3.9L EFI V8 County Classic Range Rover in Epsom Green with Lightstone leather upholstery and Walnut wood trim on door cappings and shift console. Built in 05/95 and still turning heads today. I've enjoyed owning this fantastic SUV and I know I will miss it when it's gone. It's lived in Sunny Southern California it's whole life so there is only light surface rust on the under carriage. The paint is in really good shape with the exception of the fading on the bonnet (hood). I would take it to the detail shop and keep it waxed every couple of months. A new detailer went crazy with the buffing machine on the hood and did a number to the clear coat. It's a good thing they stopped him before he kept going onto the rest of the body panels. I take all of my cars to this Car Wash and they usually do an amazing job so I didn't make a huge deal out of it. They gave me credit for 3 months of unlimited washes and I thought that was a fair deal. Over time it's gotten more noticeable as there is no heat insulation underneath the hood. The photos on this listing were taken just recently and it's hard to see in these pictures. I will take a close up of the hood and post it soon so you may see what I speak of. The EAS (electronic controlled air suspension) was replaced with a 2" lift coil spring suspension and Bilstein Shocks that allows the clearance for the oversized Yokohama tires and gives it (in my opinion) a perfect stance. It also has the Factory TWR (Tom Wilkenshaw Racing) 5 spoke wheels and front brush guard to complete it's rugged good looks. Moving on to the inside you will first notice the alcantara suede trimmed headliner done in dark charcoal (BMW M5) and works well with the contrast of the Lightstone Connolly leather seats and details upholstery. I take this Range Rover out and get complements from other drivers sitting next to me at the lights. When I pull up to valet parking at restaurants people are always asking what year it is because it looks so clean. It's not perfect but it's all there if you are looking for one that can be restored to a true show quality piece. I know that the Air tank for the EAS is still there as well as the Control module underneath the front passenger seat and the ride height sensors at each wheel should you want to go back to Electronic controlled air suspension with 3 selectable modes and 2 automatic modes. As with any vehicle of this age you are going to have things that need attention. I have listed those items below. Please make sure you look over them carefully. (((((( I SELL THIS VEHICLE AS-IS WITH NO WARRANTY EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED )))))) Feel free to ask me any questions you may have regarding this Range Rover The following is a list of amenities that are fully functional: Remote keyless door entry, power windows, tilt up & slide sunroof, Cold AC, power seats with drivers side memory, power adjustable side view mirrors, tilt steering wheel, power steering, LLoyd top-of-the-line Luxe floor mats including cargo area (Black), Alpine Head unit with Alpine Speakers and i-Pod hook up. Jaguar Land Rover opens first overseas factory in China
Wed, 22 Oct 2014Anyone who's a car fan knows that Jaguar and Land Rover cars and trucks all come from the UK. And while we don't doubt that will remain true for the most part, it won't be an absolute truth for long, as the British automaker has just opened its first factory overseas.
Its new plant in Changshu, China, is the result of a $1.8-billion joint venture between JLR and local automaker Chery. It covers some 4.3-million square feet and will, once at peak capacity, produce 130,000 units specifically for the Chinese market, where JLR sells over 100,000 vehicles each year to make it the company's single largest market worldwide.
Production at what's officially known as the Chery Jaguar Land Rover Automotive Company will start with the Evoque, of which one in five globally are currently sold in China. Production will eventually encompass three models. We already know that the Discovery Sport will be next, but the third model line has yet to be announced. JLR has confirmed, however, that the Changshu plant will produce unique models and derivatives specifically for the Chinese market, so we wouldn't be surprised to see a long-wheelbase version of the forthcoming XE or next-generation XF assembled there to satisfy local tastes.
Jaguar Land Rover undergoes $3.2 billion turnaround plan as sales slump
Thu, Nov 1 2018MUMBAI — India's Tata Motors on Wednesday announced a turnaround plan for its luxury car unit Jaguar Land Rover, which has been hit hard by trade tensions between China and the U.S., low demand for diesel cars in Europe and worries over Brexit. Under "Project Charge," Tata Motors said it plans to cut costs and improve cash flows at Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) by 2.5 billion pounds ($3.2 billion) over 18 months. JLR also plans to launch several new vehicles, including the Jaguar I-Pace and the new Range Rover Defender over the next few years and will offer a hybrid or full-electric version of all its models by 2020. "Together with our ongoing product offensive and calibrated investment plans, these efforts will lay the foundations for long-term sustainable growth," JLR CEO Ralf Speth said after Tata Motors reported a quarterly loss. JLR has trimmed its pre-tax profit expectations for the current fiscal year ending March 31, 2019, and expects to break even, Speth said, versus an earlier target of profit growth. As part of the turnaround plan, JLR will first focus on cash-saving "quick wins" like reducing non-product investments and speeding up asset sales, Tata Motors said in an investor presentation. In the near term it will improve efficiency in areas including purchasing and material cost, manufacturing, logistics and people, and will focus on strategic and non-core asset sales. JLR has already reduced the number of production days at its UK plants in Castle Bromwich and Solihull. The company said in its presentation it has saved 300 million pounds since it initiated the turnaround plan six weeks ago and is working on 500 ideas for the future. Tata Motors reported a loss of 10.49 billion rupees ($141.9 million) for the July-September quarter, compared with a profit of 24.83 billion rupees in the year-ago period. That was worse than the estimate of a loss of 2.40 billion rupees, according to Refinitiv data. JLR reported a loss of 101 million pounds during the quarter and its margin on earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) fell 130 basis points to 9.9 percent. Retail sales of its Jaguar sedans and Land Rover sport utility vehicles (SUVs) fell 13.2 percent to about 130,000 units, hurt particularly by tariff changes in China and escalating trade tensions. Demand in China remained muted even after the country cut import tariffs for cars and car parts to 15 percent for most vehicles from 25 percent from July.
