Operation and Aesthetics:

For many, the 95 LWB is the crowning achievement to the Range Rover Classic line.  It has all of the upgrades and  refinements of 25 years worth of development and yet, in true Range Rover form, it embraces new innovation and design while exhibiting all of its heritage in one coherent work.  This vehicle is a PROUD representative of that lineage with its full service profile and alluring cosmetic integrity.

This vehicle fires right up and the fully serviced 4.2L V8 roars to life.  It idles perfectly and with a slight step on the accelerator you are off in a flash.  This truck surges onto the motorways with TOTAL CONFIDENCE with no hesitation, rattles, or wanderings of any kind.  The Old Man Emu Springs provide an extremely plush ride while the Bilstien Shock Absorbers unleash the European sport-touring nature of the Range Rover via crisp and decisive handling.  The transmission is smooth with no winding and the shift quality is excellent in all gear ranges.

All power options work as they should, seats, windows, mirrors, lights, sunroof, safety MFCU’s, and all.  The AC works brilliantly and the heat is perfect without any offending coolant smells inside the cabin.  That said, this is also A NON SMOKER VEHICLE and with its recent upholstery renewals and professional detail, she still smells like a new car.

This vehicle is a blast to drive for many reasons.  It performs as you would expect from a vehicle of this caliber and all of the distinctive features of this one year only model are in excellent condition.  Its an interesting point to make here:  The Range Rovers have ALWAYS influenced the rest of the Land Rover Line.  For example, the ladder chassis and suspension would eventually become the platform for the discovery.  In 2003 – with the launch of the MKIII Full Size Range Rover – Discovery 2’s were still on the showroom floor.  The 03/04 D2’s were given the same aggressive headlamp style that can be found on Range Rovers even to this day.  But to my original point:  The 95 RRC’s were truly special because for the 1st and ONLY time in its history, the Range Rover received styling inspiration from the Land Rover Discovery.  Known as the “Soft-Dash,” The impressive in cabin appearance owes much to the Discovery’s own Soft-Dash design as it too was introduced at that time with the Range Rover.  Additionally, it is the ONLY RANGE ROVER CLASSIC to offer driver and passenger SRS airbags.  Lastly and perhaps most interestingly, this year the company transformed from “Range Rover of North America,” as it was known up until that moment, into “Land Rover of North America.”  1995 was a milestone in Range Rover history and will always serve as an investment point for collectors.

Body, Chassis & Coachwork:

Overall this vehicle is a total pleasure to look at.  The TRW wheels offered in 1995 are in excellent shape and add to this trucks impressive appearance.  The legendary Soft-Dash is in equally tidy shape with no gouges, rips or curl. The chrome appointments are in pristine order and even the front bumpers push-pads are intact (they are almost always missing).  The rugs and mats are clean and soft as is the original leather.  The front seats are in astonishingly good condition and display what happens to quality materials when cared for appropriately.

Note the highlighted pictures of the door sills, upper tailgate corner, hinges and jambs.  These are all critical areas for corrosion on the Range Rover Classics and they are present here in near perfect condition.

The vehicle is proudly drip free and you should consider it nice driveway safe!

The paint is touchably smooth and as pictured, polishes up great.  Like most older Californians who have spent a life in the sun, you will see expected wear and tear for the age but as this truck is still all original without any cosmetic surgery, she can still wow the camera and the fans at red carpet appearances!

To recap, this is a straight, original, rot free, clean and comfortable Range Rover that you would be otherwise proud to own.

A Word on EAS:

Air suspension. Perhaps the most widely debated topic in Range Rover history.  Some love it.  Some hate it.  Some vouch for reliability. Some curse its introduction to an already amazing suspension system.  Personally, I love it.  The purist in me enjoys the feature when working correctly.  Simultaneously, Coil Springs and NOT EAS was original to the Classic.  And I love it too.  So what to do with this truck?  It has the TOP OF THE LINE Coil Spring and Shock replacement parts on it and the ride quality is amazing.  I have personally evaluated the EAS system and it is intact and functional.  All you would need to do to restore the EAS system is fit a set of air coils all the way around.  So why haven’t I?  The vast majority of you have asked for a 95 LWB with coil springs… and here it is with the best available.  I personally do not see the hurry to run back to EAS just for arguments sake.  The system is operational and ready to be retro fit if/when you decide necessary.  For this vehicle, I do feel that she is perfect just the way she is.

Purchasing, Perspective & Why Buy From Me:

No one puts a Range Rover Classic together better than me, PERIOD.  It’s the vehicle I drive, and the vehicle I RACE.  Nearly two decades of Classic ownership and service are poured into every Classic (and every Rover) that I see into new hands.

All too common are sales from the brokerage houses where a vehicle will receive a detail service and nothing else.  Leaving maintenance work for the pleasure of the new owner; often time’s immediately following reception of the vehicle.  Beware of any Classic that does not share the same service points as the ones I advertise with my trucks.  They are ESSENTIAL for long term reliability and any Classic without these services are ticking time bombs.  I am not a Land Rover tech that drives home in a Honda Civic.  I come from a long line of British Car technicians and Live, Breathe and even RACE the green oval.  I understand ALL of your concerns and needs and do my best to ensure that you will be happy based on a simple, yet powerful concept:  DOES THIS VEHICLE MAKE ME HAPPY?  WOULD I PUT MY WIFE AND BABY IN IT? WOULD I LOVE TO HAVE IT?  The answer is always yes.  And that’s when I know they are ready.  I care.  I know you do, too.

Vehicles that I see off not only have domestic endpoints, they go to the farthest reaches of the planet.  They have gone to Europe, Asia, The South Pacific, Central America and currently, a client recently purchased a trail-ready 88 RRC and is en route to Tierra Del Fuego after I picked him up in the vehicle at LAX when he flew in to receive it!  The point here is, I believe in each and every vehicle that I usher in to new ownership.  Please see my recent vehicle sales and I’m sure you’ll be impressed.

While these vehicles are all totally looked after, they are not immune to future service needs and flaws.  They are used vehicles and normal flaws and wear should be expected as the vast majority of them are pushing 20+ years old.  I invite you to ask ANY AND ALL QUESTIONS NOW!  There are no queries too obscure; your satisfaction is the goal here.  Additionally, eBay offers a 3rd party inspection service to verify ALL of your acquisition needs IN PERSON.  Purchase of the vehicle = SATISFACTION.  Once this auction is over, the winning bid and purchase imply that satisfaction has been achieved and will be understood as such.  There are no warranties offered here, but that said, there is always an unspoken “hand-shake” warranty meaning that should something fail within a reasonable amount of time – say a hose, a coilpack, a distributor, blower motors, an alternator, a switch, etc – I will be happy to send you what I have available at that time.

This is a NO RESERVE AUCTION so you are bidding to win!  Please make sure that you bid ONLY what you are prepared to pay.  This means, when the auction is over, and the winning bid is placed, this becomes THE SALE PRICE of the vehicle.  Under no circumstances does it open the door to negotiate or back out of your commitment.  The people bidding for this vehicle actually want it.  Do not spoil their chances at ownership by arm-chair bidding.  Yes, everyone joins eBay at some point, and there is no prejudice against lower transaction numbers here – HOWEVER – if I suspect and/or become aware of any insincerity on the part of said bidder, I reserve the right to cancel all bids from and block that insincere bidder from this auction.

Completion of this transaction is fairly straight forward.  Once the auction is over, I will be contacting the winner immediately and we can discuss the easiest way to finalize the transition.

Finally, people always ask me who I think a particular vehicle is for.  This truck has potential for so many… It’s the ideal candidate for someone who has been looking for their first taste of a 95.  Its clean, functional, reliable, and gorgeous.  It can make an excellent daily driver.  A first car.  A summer guest vehicle.  A build platform for an overland luxury concept truck.  The 95’s were distinctive all the way.  And if you are looking for 95’s only, then no doubt you have a specific need.  Whatever it may be, this vehicle is up to the task and will make its new owner proud.  Summer time is coming – and this vehicle is ready to be an essential component to your itinerary… whatever and wherever that may be!  Best of luck and Happy Rovering!Pic 1

Jaguar-Land Rover builds millionth vehicle at Halewood

Fri, 29 Nov 2013

Jaguar-Land Rover is not what you'd call a volume automaker by any stretch of the imagination. But in the dozen years since it started manufacturing at its Halewood plant near Liverpool, England, the automaker has already built its millionth vehicle.
The landmark vehicle is a Range Rover Evoque, done up in white with red roof and mirrors, black wheels and a red and black interior. The crossover is set to be donated to Cancer Research UK, which will auction it off next year to help fund its projects in the north-west of the country.
Halewood started manufacturing the Jaguar X-Type in 2001, then went on to assemble the Land Rover LR2 / Freelander 2 before taking on production of the Evoque a year and a half ago. The facility reached the 300,000-unit milestone just last year as production moved to a 24-hour cycle for the first time in either marque's history.

Range Rover versus Mercedes-Benz: Which makes a more appealing SUV?

Mon, Aug 14 2017

From time to time — truth be told, all the time — the Autoblog staff enjoys a good debate on the merits and demerits of the cars and trucks we drive each week. This week, we spent some time in a brand-new Land Rover Range Rover Supercharged SUV, a model some of us think sits at the pinnacle of the luxury utility vehicle segment. Others disagree. The following is a real-life online debate that took place over the course of a few hours. Have a read, and feel free to take sides. There's a poll at the end so you can make your voice heard. Consumer Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski: Strange as it may sound, Jeremy Clarkson and I have a few things in common, most obvious of which is that we share a given name. But we also both love cars so much that we decided to turn our automotive passion into a career — with varying degrees of success, of course — and we both have come to realize over time that there's no point in trying to topple the Land Rover Range Rover as the world's best luxury off-road utility vehicle. Thing is, this universal truth isn't quite as universally shared as I think it should be. In fact, my esteemed colleague Alex Kierstein believes that Mercedes-Benz makes the most desirable four-wheel-drive off-road vehicles. He's clearly wrong, but I feel obligated to let him explain his choice, though it won't go without a rebuttal. Senior Editor Alex Kierstein: That's correct, and so am I in this regard. I'm sorry, Jeremy, but it's an irrefutable fact that Mercedes-Benz is doing the best interiors in the business now. And the interior is where you're going to spend most of your time, at least when the thing's running. The Range Rover's interior simply isn't as special, and frankly it'll be in the shop enough that you won't enjoy it. Now, stepping into pretty much any contemporary Mercedes sedan interior is a "wow" moment. They seem special — posh, exclusive, luxurious. The SUVs, all older vehicles coming due for total redesigns at some point in the future, are lagging a bit, but it's still a premium and upscale experience. Especially since performance is almost academic at this point. Anything in this class is going to be powerful, almost absurdly so. So why not go for the one that makes you feel like royalty, rather than your mechanic? JK: I just want to point out that it was you who brought reliability into this discussion.

Jaguar Land Rover reportedly developing Road Rover car

Tue, Sep 26 2017

Reports are circulating in the automotive media that Jaguar Land Rover is developing a vehicle that's not an SUV. Called the Road Rover, it would be an all-electric luxury car with "some" all-terrain capability, hinting at all wheel drive. Initially, the EV would launch in late 2019, then spawn more models to complete the lineup. There is also talk about JLR's interest in an outright purchase of an existing luxury car brand to join its portfolio, and that parent company Tata has already given this strategic move the green light. Tata has also reportedly made moves to protect its JLR ownership via acquiring more of its own stock. All this excitement brings to mind the fact that there once existed an actual Road Rover — the Rover brand. Having evolved into MG Rover before going into administration in 2005 and subsequently reborn in China under SAIC Motor ownership, Rover was a moderately posh British carmaker just beneath the level of prestige that Jaguar offered. For some years, both were part of the same corporation. The last Rover saloons were designed and built with BMW input, and at that point Land Rover had already become part of Ford, almost a decade after Jaguar did. Ford's tenure with Land Rover lasted from 2000 to 2008, when Tata bought the British brand — along with the Rover name. Would it just make sense to badge the road car Rover, with no Road or Land affixed to it? Rover's slovenly demise is more than a decade old now, but there's plenty of valuable history still embedded in the long-shelved Viking ship logo. Cast aside memories of Sterling-badged Honda Legend platform siblings and unattractively Federalized SD1 series cars, and take whatever good the 1999-2005 Rover 75 brought to the table — maybe it's time for Rover to be reborn in the current Jaguar Land Rover family. According to Autocar, the first Road Rover would be developed in tandem with the next-generation Jaguar XJ, so they would share an aluminum architecture suitable for both internal combustion engines and battery electric technology, depending of the model. If anything, there is delicious irony to this: The 1980s XJ generation that Jaguar spent decades developing was claimed to be engineered in such a way that the occasional stablemate Rover's Buick-derived 3,5-liter V8 wouldn't have fit in its engine bay — to preserve the Jaguar bloodline. To have the new XJ and a Rover cross paths again would only be fitting. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party.
