This is a 1995 Range Rover Classic LWB finished in Beluga Black with tan leather interior.  Below is a description of the various systems of the truck:

Exterior:
The truck looks pretty good for its age.  The black paint is faded somewhat on the hood and on the top of the vehicle.  The sides of the truck still have their shine.  The windshield has no cracks or rock pits.  There was a brush guard on the front, but I took it off since I prefer the look of the truck without it.  I do still have it should the new owner be interested in it.  The rear upper hatch is rusted out and doesn't stay shut which is a common Rover Classic problem.  A new one can be obtained here on ebay or through a recycler.  The tires are a matching set of Michelins and are decent, but will need to be changed soon.

Interior:
Overall, the tan leather interior and carpet looks pretty good.  The driver's seat has the usual wear, whereas the passenger seat and rear seat look really good.  The power windows work as they should.  The stereo works as it should, but it is missing the CD changer in the back.  The power door locks work from the inside, but the key won't turn the lock in the driver nor passenger door.  The headliner is falling which is another common Rover problem.  The driver's memory, power seat is not working with the switch.  The switch is wired through an ECU which typically fails on these trucks.  You can hook a 12V battery up to a terminal block under the driver's seat to move it.  The motors in the seat work, just not the switch via the ECU.  The passenger seat will move.  I have no idea if the sunroof works as I never tried it.  The A/C and heat both work great.  Some of the wood trim on the console is delaminating due to age.  The typical Rover lights are on/come and go:  traction, ABS, and SRS.  These don't effect driveability so I never looked into them.

Mechanical:
The truck starts up and runs out good.  It does have a slight miss at idle, but goes away once at speed.  I had the old air suspension replaced with OME springs.  The transmission shifts out as it should with no problems.  The front driveshaft ujoints have recently been replaced, as well as front tie rods and drag link.  The truck has been serviced (oil and filter) on time throughout my ownership.

This is what I know about this truck at the time of this listing.  The mileage might be slightly higher by the auction end due to it being driven sparingly.  Please keep in mind this is a British vehicle with Lucas electronics, 19 years of age and 148,600 miles under its belt.  Things can and will go wrong, so please keep this in mind when contemplating and expectation you might have about the truck.  However, this is a robust, fun truck that is a joy to drive.  This vehicle has never left me stranded and I wouldn't hesitate to drive it cross country.  Please email with any questions you might have.  Thanks

***Notice***  This auction is not a game.  Once the auction is over, it will be time to immediately pay the down payment via paypal and arrange payment of the balance within seven days of the auction closing with a cashier's check or cash.  This is not the time to want to kick tires or ask questions.  Please ask all questions prior to auction closing.  If you want to know more about the truck, please email me with your number and I'll call you.

Jaguar Land Rover offers (some) detail about new Ingenium engine

Thu, 10 Jul 2014

Jaguar Land Rover officially announced its Ingenium family of engines with the unveiling of the 2.0-liter version in the Jaguar XE concept at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, but it kept details very thin at the time. All we knew was that the new turbocharged mills could be configured to use gasoline or diesel, and be positioned longitudinally or transversely. Months later, JLR is finally letting some more info slip about its new baby, but there are still some big questions to be answered.
For the Ingenium project, Jaguar Land Rover gave its engineers a clean sheet of paper and told them not to worry about using any previous parts or machinery. In the end, the designers came up with a family of turbocharged, aluminum-block engines based around modular, 500cc cylinders to allow it to grow or shrink as the market demanded. The layout was also made adaptable enough to incorporate hybrid drivetrains, if needed. "Being configurable and flexible are the two key strands of Ingenium's DNA because we have future-proofed our new engines from the outset," said said Ron Lee, the company's director of Powertrain Engineering.
To maximize efficiency, Jaguar promises that all versions of the Ingenium engines come with computer-controlled, variable oil pumps and water pumps to use only as much energy as needed. They also get direct injection, roller bearings for the cams and stop/start. The diesel version alone has 17 percent less internal friction than the mill it replaces, the company claims. JLR is also promising class-leading figures for Ingenium's torque and horsepower too, but it's not giving away those specs just yet.

Land Rover could build a baby Defender on a platform sourced from BMW

Mon, Aug 12 2019

The collaboration between BMW and Jaguar-Land Rover started out small, it was originally limited to motors for electric cars, but it might not stay that way for long. The Tata-owned British sister companies will allegedly rummage through Munich's sizable parts bin to build nearly half a dozen cars scheduled to come out during the 2020s. According to a report by British magazine Autocar, Jaguar has started designing two small cars that will join its growing family of Pace-badged soft-roaders. They'll be new additions to the firm's portfolio, not replacements for existing cars. One will be a regular crossover, while the other will be a swoopier, form-over-function four-door model ostensibly marketed as a coupe. Both will slot at the very bottom of the Jaguar portfolio, below the already pretty small E-Pace, in a growing market segment where the competition is fierce, and profit margins are thinner than an i3's tires. Here's where BMW apparently comes in. Instead of developing a platform from scratch, the two crossovers could ride on the hybrid-ready, front-wheel drive FAAR architecture found under the third-generation 1 Series hatchback and the upcoming 2 Series Gran Coupe. If we believe an earlier report claiming Jaguar and BMW will also share engines, most of the hardware found under the sheet metal will have German genes. All-wheel drive will certainly be available, and it could also come from BMW. The same platform -- and, presumably, the same engines -- would provide the basis for a Land Rover-badged model positioned in the same segment. Autocar learned it will be to the next-generation Defender (pictured) what the Mercedes-Benz GLB is to the G-Class. Some key design cues will carry over, but the two models will share absolutely nothing under the sheet metal. The soft-roader could resurrect the Freelander nameplate when it goes on sale during the 2020s. Looking even further ahead, the front-wheel-drive platform the next Mini Countryman and X1 will utilize could find its way under the replacements for the next Range Rover Evoque and Discovery Sport. These plans could very well change; the Evoque and the Disco Sport barely entered their second generation, so they're not due for a replacement until the second half of the coming decade. While neither company has confirmed or denied the report, the partnership makes sense from a business standpoint.
