I am relisting this truck as the previous high bidder fell off the face of the earth after winning the auction.  Please, if you place a bid on my truck do so with the intent to buy my truck.  If you have less than 10 feedbacks please contact me prior to bidding.

This 1990 Range Rover was my daily driver for eight years, but it has been parked since November of 2012 when I got a 1987 BMW 325e to tinker with.  According to the autocheck ebay provides, I'm the second owner of this 24 year old Rover.

The body is in pretty good shape except for a nice dent in the front driver's side fender. Since I bought it 10 years ago I have put on new OEM springs (not cheap), new Bilstein shocks all around (not cheap) and EBC slotted rotors and pads (again, not cheap). I put new Hela fog lights in the front air dam and new Hela halogen headlights. I also installed a new aluminum framed rear hatch so there is no rust on the back glass frame. An (extremely expensive) OEM radiator was fitted about four years ago.  I've replaced numerous other parts, but at this point some may need replaced again.

The main reason the truck was parked was because it had no heat-- the heater core popped the summer of 2012. I bypassed the core and drove it until it got too chilly. Since it has been sitting for awhile, one of the tires has gone flat and the battery is totally dead. The air conditioning didn't work when I bought it and I never bothered trying to fix it, but all the components are there. The radio works but drains the battery. The sunroof opens but hangs up on the roof. I'm sure that there are a few other things, but it is a 24 year old British truck.

I pulled the battery from my other truck and put it in this one.  The windows, headlights, dash lights and horn all worked with the good battery, but the truck would not crank.  It will take some work to get this old Rover back on the road, so plan on bringing a trailer if you are the high bidder.  Do not plan on starting the truck and driving it onto a trailer, or tinkering under the hood and getting it running well enough to drive home.  Please keep in mind that this is a 24 year old British vehicle that does not run.

I will gladly take photos of anything that anyone wants to see, and will answer any questions to the best of my knowledge.  I'm not a mechanic, but I'll try to answer any question that you may have.

The truck is for sale locally, so I may end the auction early.  I have the title in hand.

Jaguar Land Rover says half its models will be hybrids or all-electric by 2020

Tue, Nov 22 2016

Neither Jaguar nor Land Rover has ever been mistaken for big-time green-car brands, but their parent company is trying to change that. Jaguar Land Rover looks to have as many as half of its models be of the hybrid, plug-in hybrid, or battery-electric variety by 2020, CEO Ralf Speth said at the Los Angeles Auto Show last week. Speth made the announcement while showing off the I-Pace concept compact crossover. The green-car expansion would mark a natural extension of Jaguar Land Rover's decision last year to double the headcount in its advanced-engineering department. As for the five-seat I-Pace, that model will be Jaguar Land Rover's first production electric vehicle when it starts sales in 2018. The car will have a 90-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack that will deliver a single-charge range of about 220 miles. Boasting more than 400 horsepower, the car will also be able to go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in about four seconds. What's also notable is that Jaguar says the model has been designed to be an electric vehicle from the ground up, and hasn't been converted from the platform of an existing model. Of course, Jaguar late last year said it would enter a team in the FIA Formula E electric-vehicle open-wheel racing circuit, so the British badge has made recent noise about upping its green-car quotient. As for the I-Pace, the automaker hasn't revealed pricing on the model, but it's safe to say that it will be quite high. Check out a three-minute video of Speth's presentation here. Related Video:

Jaguar Land Rover UK factories could shut down in two weeks due to coronavirus

Tue, Feb 18 2020

COVENTRY, England — Jaguar Land Rover has enough parts from China to maintain its British production for the next two weeks but not beyond that at the moment, Chief Executive Ralf Speth said on Tuesday. Britain's biggest carmaker, which operate three car factories in its home market, joined major global companies such as Apple in warning of the impact of the virus on supply chains. The rapidly spreading virus has killed nearly 1,900 in China and stricken some 72,000 people, confining millions to their homes, disrupting supply chains and delaying reopening of factories after the extended Lunar New Year holiday break. "We are safe for this week and we are safe for next week and in the third week we have... parts missing," said Speth when asking about the potential impact on British production. He said the firm's Chinese factory would open next week and was "safe for the very first week." Sales were not currently happening in China and it was unclear when they would return, he added. The boss of Tata Motors, JLR's parent company, speaking at the same event, said the company does not have sufficient visibility regarding parts suppliers from China. "We are safe for the month of February and for a good part of March," said Guenter Butschek. "Are we fully covered at this point of time for the full month of March? Unfortunately...not." Jaguar likely moving HQ to Britain's most iconic racetrack

Fri, Feb 26 2016

Jaguar Land Rover looks increasingly likely to make Britain's iconic Silverstone race track the automaker's new headquarters. There isn't a final deal in place yet, but the British Racing Drivers' Club, which owns the circuit, plans to have the membership vote on whether the negotiations should move forward, according to Autosport. BRDC leaders already presented the plan to members, and they were open to the idea. "The response was favorable so we will now set up an EGM for the members to vote and give the board a mandate to proceed with the deal and continue with the negotiations with JLR," BRDC president Derek Warwick told Autosport. There's no guarantee yet that JLR actually completes the deal. "There's still a lot of work to do to get the deal to where both sides are happy and more importantly what's right for the BRDC and its members." Warwick said. Rumors in early December suggested JLR was among the firms submitting bids to purchase the track, and the automaker allegedly offered 22.7 million pounds ($34.1 million at the time) for it. The company would also reportedly invest nearly $80 million to renovate the site, including adding a museum, experience center, hotel, and offices. The track would still be open for motorsport, too. Silverstone has hosted the Formula One British Grand Prix many times over the decades, and organizers signed a 17-year deal in 2009 to keep things that way well into the future. Series like the FIA World Endurance Championship, MotoGP, and British Touring Car Championship also compete there. Related Video:
