NO ACCIDENTS

The vehicle is in great shape and is very reliable. It is my daily driver. I have owned it for a couple of years and have had very few problems. Other than basic maintenance, it has not had any major issues. I had the headliner replaced by Land Rover of Wilmington last year because the old one had seen better days. I also had the brakes completely overhauled, where new front and rear rotors and pads were installed. All fluids were flushed and changed and a tune-up was performed. I did have them install a stock replacement K&N air filter. I have a complete vehicle inspection performed yearly and it has passed every time. There are no modifications and the vehicle is completely stock. It has not been off-roaded under my ownership although it has seen some dirt roads and snow. It handles dirt roads and snow very confidently, and has great road manors. It also obviously has a lot of cargo space, even with the rear seats up. This is a very classy vehicle and shows it's age very well. Some would call it a modern-day, timeless classic. Of course the vehicle has a clean, clear title and has never been in an accident.

This vehicle has about 130,000 miles and is equipped with an all-aluminum 4.0L Jaguar inspired V-8 engine which is mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission. An all-wheel drive system helps move this vehicle confidently through any weather or terrain. To help in sticky situations, it has a solid front and rear axle and is equipped with electronic automatic locking differentials, both front and rear. There is also the "hill decent control" feature, which actively uses the braking system when activated and in 4 wheel drive low-range. The center section or transfer case is also lockable for extreme off-road conditions. There is a sport mode for higher rpm's and later shifting, while the economy mode allows for better gas mileage. The original leather interior and OEM rubber Land Rover floor and cargo mats allow you to clean the vehicle with ease, which helps in the winter. Land Rover also equipped these vehicles with special coated windows which are anti-UV ray and assist in keeping the vehicle cooler in heat. The windows are also tastefully tinted, well within the legal range. Two power moon roofs provide extra lighting and ventilation in the vehicle. This vehicle is factory equipped with the cold climate package which includes a heated front windshield, heated front seats, heated rear side windows and a rear windshield defroster. There are also front and rear wipers to help with visibility. The climate control features dual settings for the driver and passenger sides, with HOT HEAT and ICE COLD A/C.

While driving this vehicle sitting in the luxurious leather seating and surrounded by the burl wood trimmed dash, the Harmon Kardon sound system complete with steering wheel controls, tweeters and a rear mounted subwoofer will delight your ears. With power everything, you will maintain complete control of the vehicle with ease. The rear seats fold down to reveal a huge cargo area with the carpet protected by the original OEM Land Rover rubber cargo mat. This vehicle seats up to 5 people in luxury with plenty of head and foot room.

The only bad about the vehicle is that when it rains hard, some water drips down near the drivers seat. I thought it was the front moon roof but I don't know. There are a lot of Land Rover forums and it seems that water can leak in from the front sun roof or some kind of leak near the A-pillar. Sometimes some vibration can be felt in the steering wheel when hitting large bumps when driving 60+, maybe a ball joint. There seems to be a slight exhaust leak but it is tolerable. There are some normal dents and dings for a vehicle of this age, such as a small dent on the hood and a dent on the drivers side doors. The front brush guard/bumper area also has a small mark from a parking lot. There are no major problems, as this is a very sound vehicle.

If you are looking to buy this vehicle, I assume you know what land rovers are. If not, here is a short example. They are a British-built All-Terrain Vehicle with just enough modern amenities such as A/C and leather seating to get you where you need to go. They have a reputation of being unstoppable off-road and performing better than jeeps. They are still used by the British Military today. Nearly 80% of all remote societies studied have said that a Land Rover was the first vehicle they have ever seen. These vehicles have played a big role in history and have done everything including helping a farmer tend his lands, help win wars and even escort the Pope. These are very reliable vehicles with a strong following and customer base. Over 80% of Land Rovers built are STILL on the roads today worldwide.

No matter if you want this as a daily driver, family hauler, off-road explorer or a winter driver you will be impressed. Of course it is being sold as-is, and full payment will be expected at time of sale. I do not ship, it will be the responsibility of the buyer to pick up the vehicle within one week of purchase. I will remove the licsense plate when the vehicle is sold so please bring your own plate if you wish to drive away or a trailer.

Feel free to contact me with any questions. The vehicle is also for sale locally, so feel free to contact me with any RESONABLE OFFERS. Otherwise, happy bidding. I will accept cash in person at time of vehicle pick-up, no paypal or checks.

2019 Mercedes-Benz G-Class vs big luxury off-roaders: How they compare on paper

Mon, May 7 2018

During our first drive of the 2019 Mercedes-Benz G-Class, the all-new SUV's product manager was asked to identify competitors that might have been benchmarked in its development. The look on his face was about the same as if someone had asked him to recite King Lear in Klingon. As far as Andreas Hoeppel was concerned, the G 550 and AMG G 63 doesn't actually have a rival, or at least something the engineers and designers thought to compare it against. The G-Class is a G-Class, who cares what the other guys are doing? Well, in case you care, we figured we'd plug the new G-Class' specs into the old Autoblog Comparo Generator 3000 (TM) to see how the G 550 and AMG G 63 compare to the Range Rover and its mightiest SVAutobiography Dynamic model, plus the Lexus LX 570 and Bentley Bentayga V8. Frankly, Heir Hoeppel was onto something as each of these is wildly different. But, they do share some common elements: giant size and weight, ultra-lux interiors, and far more off-roading capability than other luxury SUVs offer and any of its owners are likely to ever utilize. Sad. So enjoy this trip down specification lane, and if you're still left hungry, you can always check out our Range Rover comparison or create your very own comparo. Off-Road Clearances and Capability All the fancy off-roading software and special cameras in the world won't do you a lick of good if your SUV is too close to the ground or has low-hanging body work that'll get easily ripped off. As such, check out each of these uber-SUV's ground clearance, approach and departure angles, and wading/fording depths. In this case, the Range Rover has an advantage due to its air suspension that can raise itself into an Off-Roading height that's a whopping 2 inches higher than the new G-Wagen. Sadly for itself, Lexus only provides figures for its air suspension when in normal height. It could match or surpass the Range Rover for all we know (but doubt it). As Land Rover does provide figures for the Range Rover's approach and departure angles in normal and Off-Road height, you can get an idea of just how much clearance the new G-Wagen has without any fancy (and expensive to fix) raising and lowering air suspension hardware. In fact, its departure angle is better than even the Range Rover's Off-Road height. Bentley doesn't provide any such information despite touting the Bentayga's surprising off-roading talents.

10 most memorable cars and SUVs of 2019

Tue, Dec 24 2019

It's no surprise that a car reviewer will drive a large number of cars over the course of a year. Indeed, when the clock strikes midnight on Dec 31, I will have driven 75 new cars, trucks and SUV this year (and one old Peugeot) over the course of weekly evaluation loans and first drive events. That sure seems like a lot. Some definitely got more attention than others, and some came and went without leaving much of an impression – I completely forgot I drove a Kia Forte. Yet in the spirit of this day, I thought I'd pick the 10 that I would love to see under the Christmas tree tomorrow morning. You know, just in case you were looking to get me something. I'll also throw in a couple disappointments that were memorable for the wrong reasons. They'd get sent back to the store on Boxing Day. Lexus LC 500 Pictured below and resplendent in its Flare Yellow metallic paint, the car that would reach highest on my list is the divine Lexus LC 500. As a devout lover of GT cars, the LC ticks all the boxes. Muscular and characterful engine? V8, check. Beautifully made and memorable interior? It's gorgeous, to hell with Remote Touch. Check. Comfortable and reasonably practical? Superb seats and, uh, yeah. Makes me want to stand there and stare at it? You bet. Though I long figured my heart would say LC but my head "Porsche 911," after this go-around, that's no longer the case. LC, pretty please. 2020-lexus-lc500-f34-2 View 19 Photos Polestar 1 I actually feel lucky that I got to drive the Polestar 1. Only 150 will be produced each year, and it's a far more special thing than it would initially appear. And that's despite initially appearing to be a beautiful, classic two-door GT car with a roof so rakish it's only possible because it's made of carbon fiber. That itÂ’s a massively powerful plug-in hybrid with more all-electric range than any other PHEV is a thick dollop of whipped cream on a slice of Toscakaka. You know, Swedish dessert, Swedish car. Fine, I'll stick to Ikea references.  Polestar1_Launch_SanFrancisco-0014 View 44 Photos Volvo V60 Cross Country Speaking of Sweden, did I drive this car off the road there? Sure did! And despite this, the V60 Cross Country scratches that certain wagon itch and looks sensational to boot. I wish it were available with the T8 plug-in hybrid powertrain, but it's best not to get greedy at Christmas.
