2005 Land Rover Freelander Se Sport Utility (black) 4-door 2.5l on 2040-cars
Clover, South Carolina, United States
This vehicle is in immaculate condition! High gloss black exterior gives way to the smooth, rich black interior leather. A perfectly functioning (freshly recharged) climate control system pump hot or cool air throughout the cabin of the vehicle leaving no space unreached. This vehicle's sound quality is the best of any I have driven, the bass is factory but sounds better than most aftermarket installations while the speakers themselves (Land Rover specific Harmon-Kardon sound ware) function perfectly to give a crisp, clear resonance to every note. All the vehicle's power windows (2 in the front, 2 in the rear, and the gate glass) function perfectly and can be controlled from the driver's seat. All pieces of glass excluding the windshield and sunroof were professionally tinted last year by a shop that specializes in imports. The vehicle's smaller stature allows it to hug curves and cruise highways with more maneuverability than an average Land Rover without compromising the high seated, command driving position. I have replaced most hoses as well as the tires and brakes (within the last 3,000 miles). The fold down rear seats province the extra clearance needed to carry large items be they tools, outdoor gear, or the out fittings of a college dorm. This vehicle is a great car, I've driven it all around the Smoky Mountains with no issue and am truly sad to have to part with it. I have maintained the vehicle impeccably since I purchased it (it was a single owner vehicle that was sold to me through a seller in Virginia Beach who had had it for roughly six weeks) and as far as I can tell, the previous owner did the same. I'm a college student and am selling the vehicle to accommodate a quick move to graduate school (on the opposite side of the country) over the summer. If you want to love this Land Rover as much as I have, place a bid. When you win the auction, shipping will have to be orchestrated through emails or phone calls with me. The buyer will cover the cost of shipping. The vehicle will be shipped freshly detailed and waxed. Payment will be in the form of a certified bank check that must be overnight shipped within 48 hours of the end of the auction. Upon receipt, the vehicle will be shipped and the check will be deposited. After the check has cleared and the vehicle has been received, the signed title will be overnighted to you (signed for delivery) at which time the transaction will be compete. The buyer understands that the vehicle will be shipped as it appears in the photos provided. The buyer assumes all risk of damage during the shipping process.

Jaguar Land Rover parent Tata posts a loss over coronavirus
Tue, Oct 27 2020BENGALURU — India's Tata Motors posted a wider loss for the September quarter on Tuesday as the COVID-19 pandemic sapped demand in several of its key markets. The global health crisis has hammered sales for automakers worldwide and compounded problems for Tata Motors, which was trying to improve Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) sales amid weak demand and uncertainty related to Brexit. Tata Motors reported a consolidated net loss of 3.14 billion rupees ($42.47 million) for the second quarter ended Sept. 30, compared with a loss of 2.17 billion rupees a year earlier. Retail unit sales at luxury car unit JLR, which rakes in most of the company's revenue, was down nearly 12% for the reported quarter. Tata Motors, however, said it expects JLR sales to gradually improve. "Despite concerns around the risk of a second wave of (COVID-19) infections ... we expect a gradual recovery of demand and supply in the coming months," the carmaker said in an exchange filing. Total revenue from operations fell 18.2% to 535.3 billion rupees. Tata Motors said it was committed to achieving near-zero net automotive debt in the coming years. Shares of Tata Motors ended 1.46% higher on Tuesday while the broader Mumbai market settled 1.03% higher.
GM, Audi, Jaguar halt Russian sales amidst ruble's collapse
Fri, Dec 19 2014The value of Russia's ruble currency has sunk like a stone tossed in the Volga for much of the year, losing over 40 percent of its worth since June. The change is having bizarre effects on the auto industry there and leaving some automakers scrambling to adjust. According to Bloomberg, Russians are buying up luxury goods including automobiles at the moment to have a physical investment in case the ruble sinks further. However, with the money worth so little, the companies aren't making much from these transactions. Things are so dire that several automakers are temporarily ending deliveries until the situation stabilizes. According to Bloomberg, General Motors stopped sales on December 16 with no set date to start again. Audi did the same thing but with the intention to resume once it has adjusted model pricing. Jaguar Land Rover terminated business until December 19 to see how things changed. Toyota is increasing its pricing, as well, but keeping business open at the same time. Some automakers have subtly been reacting to the slumping Russian auto market all year. The moves have included Volkswagen cutting production by 30,000 units from its factory in Kaluga. Ford also got rid of 950 workers from two plants due to low demand. Some analysts have even speculated that the contracting industry and possibility of lower import duties into the country could cause companies to end their manufacturing in Russia completely.
Jaguar Land Rover says key models in short supply, some have six-month wait lists
Fri, 08 Aug 2014Care for a bit more proof that the Jaguar Land Rover portfolio of vehicles is the best it's ever been? Well, the Indian-owned pair of brands saw a record year in 2013, while 2014 has seen a 14-percent increase in sales. The crazy thing is, though, is that figure could be even higher, provided the company had the production capacity.
JLR is running a six-month waiting list on two of its most popular models, the Range Rover Sport (above) and Range Rover. According to Mark White, the company's chief technologist for body engineering, the blame can be placed on the paint shop at the company's Solihull factory, in the UK.
"We will probably max out the paint shop before we max out the body shop. Putting the second body shop in has given us the flexibility to ebb and flow the different models that go through there and meet the capacity demands we've got," White told Automotive News. "However, you always hit a bottleneck somewhere. And the paint shop is probably going to be the next biggest obstacle."
