1997. Land Rover Discovery 5 speed manual gearbox!
If you know these trucks there is no need for me to explain the 4x4 and articulated suspension.
Nasty 4x4!

This is a base model manual trans, no power roofs, no leather, no power seats.... The way a truck should be. It's the only one of this build I have ever seen and I've owned Land Rovers for 30 years.
Light weight without the power options and built strong underneath .
Drive on the beach on Sunday and reliably to work on Monday .
I've owned this truck for years and always maintained the mechanicals to a T!

Within the past year to 2 - under 5000 miles NEW:
Optima battery
Thrush muffler
Total front end rebuild, tie rod king pins, drag link... All of it
Front wheel bearing service with seals and ball wiper seals
Rear control arm pivot ball joint
2" Old Man Emu coils
Terafirma gas shock
Anodized 2" rear shock drops
Yokohama Geolanders (brand new over $1100 alone!)
Belts, hoses
Fuel pump
Drive shaft U joints and flex coupler
Brakes front and rear

I have crates of spare parts that go along, window seals, engine gaskets, several roof racks, lights, electronics, new clutch bearing and pressure plate with a machined flywheel; new front rotors....

Tons of stuff! I may even have a spare gearbox and t case but need to find it.(consider this a bonus not included in the sale, I need to find it!)

It has Hella jumbos on the bumper -extra set in the parts boxes
Range Rover Great Divide front bumper bull bar
Great Divide heavy aluminum front skid plate
Range Rover steel underside skid plate (not installed)
Added 1 SE7 jump seat to the right rear cargo bay.

Paint is crap, got pleanty of sunburn and scratches, roof and hood are Rinoliner.
Body is pretty solid, typical C pillar rust but only in the left rear door.

RF turn signal broken lens, headlights are faded.

Power steering leaks as they all do.

Overall a bas ass truck looking to be used as it should, in the woods or on the beach; hunt, fish or wheeling
.
My family just outgrew it, 3 boys that always want to bring friends and gear... Had to buy a crew cab.
You won't find such a capable rig for this money!

Call email or text to see the truck. Near exit 5 NJTP, close to 295 Burlington exit, right off Rt 38 in Lumberton near Burlington/Mt Holly.

Average new-vehicle transaction price hits a whopping new peak in December

Wed, Jan 11 2023

Elevated prices for products and higher borrowing rates led to record high transaction prices for new vehicles in December, with the average cost in the U.S. rising to a record $49,507, according to data from Kelley Blue Book released today. The report notes that ATPs — average transaction prices — have climbed above suggested retail prices — MSRPs — for more than a year. Sales volumes were up in December on a year-over-year basis by more than 5%, a situation Kelley attributed to improved supply. Overall sales for 2022, however, were off 8% year over year. “The transaction data from December clearly indicates overall prices showed no signs of coming down as we headed into year-end,” said Rebecca Rydzewski, research manager of economic and industry insights for Cox Automotive. “Luxury prices fell slightly in December, but non-luxury transaction prices were up. Truck sales were particularly strong last month, and with many trucks selling for more than $60,000, a new record was all but inevitable.” Industry analysts claim the most obvious headwinds in the new car market are generated by higher interest rates, forced by the Federal Reserve's rate hikes intended to tame inflation, and by generally limited inventory. A recent report from J.D. Power showed that the average monthly payment for a new vehicle loan in December was $718, up $47 from a year ago. But 16% of consumers in December took out loans with monthly payments of over $1,000. Consumers think vehicles, and electric vehicles especially, are way too expensive. Fortunately, manufacturersÂ’ incentives, all but extinct in the past two years, are returning, especially in the electric-vehicle and luxury market, the Kelley data suggest. Plus, "With the new tax credits on the way, electric vehicle ATPs will drop lower for qualifying vehicles,” Rydzewski said. Non-luxury brands, such as Honda and Kia, showed particularly strong performance in December, with the average price paid at $45,578 — a record high and an increase of $994 month over month. Meanwhile, the average luxury buyer paid $66,660 for a new vehicle last month. Mercedes-Benz and Land Rover showed the most price strength in the luxury market, transacting between 2.6% to 6.5% over sticker price. But luxury brands Audi, BMW, Infiniti, Lexus, Lincoln, and Volvo showed the least price strength with some discounting in effect, selling 1% or more below MSRP in December, according to the survey.

Watch a Cayenne Turbo S, Range Rover SVR, and Cherokee SRT drag race

Thu, Mar 17 2016

We live in a weird world where high-performance SUVs could win a 60-mile-per-hour sprint against sports cars from just a few years ago. Here, Top Gear sets up a three-way drag race against the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S, Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR, and Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT, and the results show just how quickly these high-riding models can cross the quarter mile. The Cherokee SRT is the patriotic choice among the three, but it's down on power in this fight. Meanwhile, the Range Rover's menacing growl sounds the best, and the Cayenne Turbo S has the most horsepower. You'll have to watch the video to see which SUV will win this battle. Related Video:

Audi and Jaguar Land Rover recalls address seatbelt issues

Tue, Aug 2 2022

Audi and Jaguar Land Rover are each recalling several thousand vehicles for separate potential seatbelt issues. The recalls cover the 2022 Audi A3 and S3; 2022 Jaguar F-Type, F-Pace and XF; and the 2022-23 Land Rover Defender, Discovery, Discovery Sport, Range Rover Sport and Range Rover Velar. Examples of these vehicles may have shipped with seatbelt pretensioners that will not function properly in the event of an accident.  Audi is recalling its sedans for tensioner devices that may not adequately restrain drivers or passengers during a crash. The issue was discovered during Korean market crash testing of the high-performance RS 3.  "The seat belt tensioner in the affected vehicles serve the purpose of holding the passenger in his position in the seat," Audi said in its defect report to NHTSA. "In the event of a crash, the retention force of the seat belt may not reach the intended level. As a result, the position of the body can be further to the front of the seat, which leads to a negative influence on the whole restraint system, increasing the risk of injury." A different company, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), meanwhile, also has an issue with a batch of pretensioners installed in its cars and SUVs. Pretensioners are the devices that fire off to rapidly retract the seatbelt when a crash is detected. Most utilize an explosive charge and pressure tube JLR says that some pretensioner devices provided by one of its suppliers may not have properly-specified pressure tubes that may not channel the gasses to the retraction mechanism correctly.  "A damaged front seat belt pretensioner tube may have been installed on the seat belt retractor," JLR's report said. "This may result in a reduced level or complete loss of pre-tensioning in the event of a crash and increased occupant injury." Owners of the models included in both recall campaigns should receive notices from the manufacturers in the coming months.  Related video: Recalls Audi Jaguar Land Rover Ownership Safety SUV Sedan
