PLEASE CALL 650-307-2251 FOR QUESTIONS, TEST DRIVES AND/OR MECHANICAL INSPECTIONS

THE BODY AND TRIM
The exterior of this Disco is in good to very good,  quite presentable condition overall with a few blemishes including: missing rear light guards, some corrosion areas in a couple of the door jam corners, cracking on the rubber, some brush touched up paint nicks, imperfect paint on the front valance grill panel and miscellaneous scuffs.

THE INTERIOR
The interior of this classic Rover is  also in "GOOD" condition overall. It sports electric leather seating, the dual electric glass sunroofs, electric windows all working, nice factory rubber floor mats and the groovy little fold down third row seats with belts too, very nice clean and not sagging headliner, clean crack-free dash, nice original carpets with light wear only! Known imperfections inside this car include some wear on the leather especially on the driver seat, radio inop, hazard switch dangling, rear hatch door speaker grill banged up, ABS light illuminated on dash and a/c not working.

THE DRIVING EXPERIENCE
This classic Rover starts and runs fairly well with solid acceleration and mid range torque from the V8 engine and 5 speed stick shift combination. The transmission up and downshifts well [second gear grinds under enthusiastic shifting, the braking is straight and true with good/slightly soft pedal feel and the suspension is solid with a great highway ride! The catalytic converter is rattling underneath but does not seem to affect any performance. I have not tried to engage the low range shifter since I have owned it. The steering feels aloof and a bit"unPorsche-like".

Jaguar Land Rover calls in handful of vehicles over suspension bolts

Thu, 24 Apr 2014

With most recalls seemingly affecting mass-market vehicles, it'd be all too easy to assume, consciously or otherwise, that higher-end automobiles never face such issues. But the main reason we don't see the NHTSA recalling more luxury automobiles isn't because of their quality, we'd postulate: it's because of their relative scarcity.
Take Jaguar Land Rover, recalls of whose vehicles we only seem to have cause to report about once a year. So if you're figuring they're about due, here you go. The Indian-owned British auto group has just announced two recalls, both regarding suspension components: one affecting Jaguars and another concerning - you guessed it - Land Rovers.
First up we have a recall for 2013 to 2014 model year Jaguar XJ, XF and XK models - a whopping 297 of them - which have been found to have problematic toe links. Separation of the toe link from the rear sub-frame could result in impaired stability and control over the vehicle's direction, so JLR is calling them in to replace the nuts and washers on the rear toe links.

Jaguar Land Rover opens winter testing facility in Minnesota

Wed, 12 Dec 2012

As it begins the rollout of the all-wheel-drive Jaguar XJ and XF models, Jaguar Land Rover has just announced that it has opened a new facility in northern Minnesota for winter testing. Located in International Falls, MN (on the US and Canadian border), the British automaker says it is one of the coldest locations in the Continental US. Jaguar's new Instinctive All Wheel Drive system was developed primarily to help sell more cars in the northern US, so it only makes sense to open a testing area in the US as well.
With temperatures that can drop to minus 55 degrees Fahrenheit, International Falls was chosen to mimic some of the worst weather a Jaguar or Land Rover will ever see. The grounds house testing chambers, various road surfaces and even a frozen lake. This new facility complements the hot-weather testing grounds in Phoenix, AZ.
The official press release is posted below.

Jaguar Land Rover gets to work on new university R&D center

Fri, Mar 20 2015

Jaguar Land Rover has a raft of new products in the pipeline, from the new Defender to the next-generation XF sedan. But new product isn't the only thing the British automaker is investing in: it's also opening new facilities around the world, including what it's calling the National Automotive Innovation Centre back home in the UK. Based at the University of Warwick, the new $220-million R&D center is the result of a joint effort between JLR, its parent company Tata, the manufacturing arm of the university and the British government. The facility will bring together professionals from the automaker as well as its suppliers with academics to encourage, as the name suggests, innovation in the automotive sector. Its 355,000 square feet are earmarked to become the hub for Jaguar Land Rover's advanced research activities, including "workshops, laboratories, virtual engineering suites and advanced powertrain facilities, equipped to enable a full range of design, visualisation and prototyping activities." The cornerstore was just laid in a ceremony this week, but the facility isn't due to open until the Spring of 2017 when it will encompass some 1,000 employees, including 600 relocated by JLR to the new location from other sites in the UK.
