Date Of First Registration - 13/03/1989 (please note this is not a 1980 model, eBay does not recognize European VIN numbers. This Defender was built in 1989) A very much sought after Defender with one of the very best Land Rover engines produced. Right Hand Drive, Automatic Transmission with only 85000 miles. This Defender resides with myself here in the UK and has been my daily usage vehicle and over the past 9 months has covered in excess of 7000 faultless miles. We built this Defender as a family truck with no component overlooked. Myself, my wife and our four young children have enjoyed every minute with this beautiful truck and am only selling due to the business lease of a new Defender 110. This particular Defender has been thoroughly refurbished and rebuilt here in the UK by ourselves using many new parts and accessories and is in excellent condition. The respray has been carried out in Orkney Gray and looks as new as the day it was painted 9 months ago. The chassis is entirely corrosion free and has been treated to a full extensive coating of WaxOyl to protect from corrosion for many years to come. Building this truck as my personal vehicle as ever only the finest available was chosen for the base to which the build began. Please view the pictures in the listing you will see the chassis and the engine bay, we have nothing to hide and are extremely proud of this defender. All of the doors are in excellent corrosion free condition and this particular Defender has the later styled push button doors. During the restoration and rebuild of this particular Defender no nut, bolt or component has been overlooked. All components work perfectly and this Defender is ready and willing to perform. Study the pictures, this defender is beautiful and sure to make you very happy as it has done myself. As you can see from the pictures this Defender has been fully resprayed both internally and externally in the beautiful metallic Orkney Gray. Once painted and mechanically prepared this Defender has been fitted out with a 9 seat half leather 2005 Defender XS full interior including roof liner and interior trim panels. Please remember this Defender is also fitted with AC which is blowing ice cold having just been re-gassed for the 3 weeks of British summer we have...... Brand new carpets were also fitted and have always had rubber overmats in place to protect them during my use. On the exterior the Defender also has a set of genuine Land Rover FreeStyle Alloy wheels which i had powder coated black. I am a personal fan of the Defender in its natural 'naked' format so to speak but should you wish the exterior to be treated to diamond plate, a KBX premium grill, tubular side steps, roof rack and ladder, additional lighting please do not hesitate to ask, I am more than happy to customize this Defender further for you. Jaguar Land Rover posts profitable quarter amidst big yearly losses
Mon, May 20 2019Jaguar has posted its first profit in quite some time, as the financial quarter ending on March 31 brought in a net income of $151.6 million. However, that is the light in the end of the tunnel, as full year results through March showed a $4.58 billion loss (GBP3.6 billion). The losses are again attributable to declining sales in China, with a whiff of the still-lingering Brexit process. While JLR's annual U.S. sales were up 8.1 percent, and U.K. sales improved by 8.4%, overall sales came down 5.8% to 578,915 vehicles. For April, Chinese sales nearly halved as they dropped by 46 percent. Earlier this year, JLR's woes caused its owner Tata Motors to post the biggest ever quarterly loss in Indian corporate history, at nearly $4 billion. JLR's CEO Ralf Speth stated that the company is "reducing complexity" and transforming its business by cost savings and cash flow improvements, citing the fourth-quarter profits as an example of the ongoing turnaround. Speth said JLR has already managed to deliver $1.59 billion (GBP1.25 billion) of efficiencies and savings. JLR says its turnaround program, dubbed Charge, will drive it to at least $3.18 billion (GBP2.5 billion) of investment, working capital and profit improvements by March 2020, and that it currently has $4.84 billion (GBP3.8 billion) of cash. Speth continued that JLR will "go forward as a transformed company that's leaner and fitter," and that the sustained investment in new products and technologies will drive future demand. There has been earlier speculation of Tata Motors selling JLR to the PSA Group, but as Autocar reports, Tata's financial chief again refuted these rumors. JLR also announced today that its CFO of 11 years, Ken Gregor is stepping down after 22 years with the company, and that he will be succeeded by JLR's Chief Transformation Officer, Adrian Mardell.
