Description:

Don't risk your deposit on a vehicle that is based in the UK OR Canada and has not even cleared into this country yet.  A number of these vehicles have recently been refused entry due to their 'grey' status and non-allowed modifications.  Testament to this vehicle (and a number of these before from the same workshop), is that it has flown through the import process and is currently in New Jersey with a full clear New Jersey Title and available to serious offers, ready to be driven aaway today..!. This classified is for a FULLY RESTORED 1984 Land Rover Defender 110 200 TDI station wagon.

This land Rover Defender 110 started its lfe on 07 August 1984 as a Land Rover 110 (County Trim in Russet Brown) 2.5 Petrol unit.  It was sold to and despateched to Townley Cross South Africa and spent most of its life there, benefitting from a very dry climate.  In it's first 8 or so years it covered just 20,000 or so miles before the owner decided to upgrade the engine to a fantastic 200 TDi variant that Land Rover had just started shipping.  We are informed this was in about 1992.  The vehcicle comes complete with it's HERITAGE CERTIFICATE from the "British Motor Industry Heritage Trust" Motor Museam: Certificate Number; 2012/27885

This is an ORIGINAL LEFT HAND DRIVE, WITH ORIGINAL LEFT HAND DRIVE DASHBOARD.  Be careful - a number of vehicles currently advertised are RHD, meaning they are worth a whole lot less when you try and resell them, and you will have to drive on the wrong side with higher insurance premiums etc...!  Aside from benefitting from a complete rebuild in a professional workshop, the vehicle (as you can see in the photos) also benefits from a BRAND NEW Richards CHASSIS!!!!  Also on this chassis, it has an extra centre floor cross member especially for a Station Wagon 5 Door Model with the engine mounts in the right place for the 200 TDI engine.

The engine itself is a Very Low Mileage Unit -- 58,779 miles at present on the odometer with the engine being replaced at approx 20,000 miles, thats less than 2,000 miles per year since new for the vehicle..!

In short, this is totally Original Station Wagon 5 Door from new/the Land Rover factory.  The restoration has been very sympathetic to the vehicles history, keeping the interior as original as possible (it is in fantastic condition), but reaplcing everything that needed to be replaced and also adding sensible things like a winch..!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Simply buy with confidence that the vehicle is already here and cleared waiting to be driven away, there is NO FINANCIAL risk associated with paying a deposit, waiting 10 weeks, hoping the vehicle clears customs and then being disappointed...

We are happy to put you in touch with our restoration partner in the UK should you have any questions we cannot answer on this vehicle or our next vehicles coming through..!

This is a very special Landrover. The Heritage Certificate included means the car can be registered as a classic. This car was valued at a Land Rover Main Dealer at $85,000, and if maintained, the value will continue to go UP!!!!

This vehicle was built for Non-US market, which is why EBAY will not recognize the VIN and it is listed here as a 1980. The VIN number of the vehicle is SALLDHMH8AA/209925.

Jaguar F-Pace SVR to debut this week at New York Auto Show

Mon, Mar 26 2018

It should come as no surprise that the folks back in England have been working on a hot new version of the Jaguar F-Pace. Today, just ahead of the 2018 New York International Auto Show, the British automaker confirmed that the Jaguar F-Pace SVR will debut this week. The new Jaguar I-Pace and Range Rover SV Coupe will make their North American debuts alongside the F-Pace. All we know about the F-Pace SVR is that it will be the fastest and most powerful version of Jaguar's best-selling product. We don't even have a teaser photo, as Jaguar Land Rover loves to play things close to the vest, so we're sharing some spy photos that we think might be the new model. Expect some version of JLR's 5.0-liter supercharged V8. We're hoping it's the 575 horsepower variant from the refreshed Range Rover Sport SVR. Expect 0-60 mph times in the low-4-second range and a top speed of at least 155 mph. The I-Pace and Range Rover SV Coupe both debuted earlier this month at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. The I-Pace is an all-electric crossover with an estimated 240 miles of range. The SV Coupe is a limited-production two-door variant of the full-size Range Rover. It's meant to be a throwback to the original two-door Range Rover Classic. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. A hybrid and electric Corvette, plus we drive the Ioniq 5 | Autoblog Podcast #728

Fri, May 6 2022

In this episode of the Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Road Test Editor Zac Palmer. Zac drove the electric 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5, and Greg drove the fire-breathing 2022 Maserati Levante Trofeo. The two dive deep into the relatively heavy news week by starting off with a discussion about the upcoming hybrid Corvette before chatting about what the electric Corvette might be like. They have a chat about the possibility of Porsche and Audi officially joining the Formula 1 field. Then, Greg and Zac get into some quick-hitting news to round out the segment by dissecting the updated Kia Soul (now without a turbo), the 30th Anniversary Edition Land Rover Defender and the new CEO at Aston Martin. Following the news and drive reviews, they rope in Senior Editor, Green John Beltz Snyder to give them a quick download of what went down at the first drive for the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning. Finally, they reach into the mailbag and answer some questions from someone who is less than pleased about infotainment systems in some new cars. And lastly, the gang hears back from someone they helped out in a prior Spend My Money segment on the podcast. Send us your questions for the Mailbag and Spend My Money at: Podcast@Autoblog.com. Jaguar Land Rover said to favor Europe rather than US for new plant

Sat, Feb 21 2015

With its plants running at full tilt, Jaguar Land Rover is in desperate need of additional manufacturing capacity. That's led to reports that the Indian-owned British company was looking to join European, Japanese and Korean automakers in America's southern states, all while it opened new plants in the UK and China. The company even announced it would be building the Land Rover Discovery Sport in Brazil. Now, though, reports are suggesting that JLR is looking at Europe for a new facility, rather than the US, with Automotive News claiming the company's execs are eyeing the lower costs afforded by Austria and Turkey. The report cites the Birmingham Post (UK), the broadsheet that's closest to the company's headquarters. According to the original report, labor costs and wage disputes with unions are ruling out another factory in the UK, while those same disputes with labor outfits may also be souring the automaker on a US facility. "At this stage Europe seems more likely than America. The union pay dispute had a big effect," an unnamed source told the Post. "There is a feeling of alienation that has been left over from the way the pay talks were handled." JLR, meanwhile, offered a solid no comment to the Post, with a spokesperson saying, "No decision has been taken on future manufacturing locations. We will continue to evaluate opportunities to increase our manufacturing footprint in the future." Related Video:
