Hello ladies and gentlemen, this is my 1986 ex military land rover defender for sale. VIN# SALLDHAC7BA249554 So I know what you're thinking, "bought cheap and trying to sell expensive"; actually no....this truck was a keeper for me since I bought in 2012 and so I have put in a lot of money already into it. But unfortunately now I have to sell it. Work I have done to it is adding a new muffler system, undercoating the already strong chassis with POR15, adding a working snorkel, changing door rubbers and windshield rubbers, adding power steering to it, adding new wheel spacers to accommodate the discovery wheels (military wheels still available), Upgrading the seats from standard military to exmoor trim seats. Big jobs includes upgrading the 2.5NA to a 200TDI engine- new head gasket, new valve seals, new exhaust gasket, new glow plugs, new fuel rail, new timing belt, new crank and camshaft seals and last on engine was a new waterpump. Overall I have spent around $17000 total. I would like to get back at least close to that but with NO RESERVE I know it's a risk. I recently added a hard top so now you can be top off in the summer and hardtop on in the winter-pictures of hard top coming soon. I also added an auxiliary fan to help cool the engine in those hot summer days. So just by looking at my truck you cannot know about all the work that went into it but you can certainly appreciate it. So all and all if you compare my defender to other defender for sale, most of the hard work has already been done. So if you are looking for a land rover defender, please consider my truck....Thanks If you have 10 feedbacks or less, and you are interested in this vehicle for purchase, please contact me before bidding....thanks This vehicle is for sale locally in Queens New York |

Jaguar-Land Rover builds millionth vehicle at Halewood
Fri, 29 Nov 2013Jaguar-Land Rover is not what you'd call a volume automaker by any stretch of the imagination. But in the dozen years since it started manufacturing at its Halewood plant near Liverpool, England, the automaker has already built its millionth vehicle.
The landmark vehicle is a Range Rover Evoque, done up in white with red roof and mirrors, black wheels and a red and black interior. The crossover is set to be donated to Cancer Research UK, which will auction it off next year to help fund its projects in the north-west of the country.
Halewood started manufacturing the Jaguar X-Type in 2001, then went on to assemble the Land Rover LR2 / Freelander 2 before taking on production of the Evoque a year and a half ago. The facility reached the 300,000-unit milestone just last year as production moved to a 24-hour cycle for the first time in either marque's history.
Jaguar Land Rover tech tracks brainwaves, heart, lungs
Wed, Jun 17 2015Jaguar Land Rover has been on a bit of a tech kick lately, and its latest is called Mind Sense, which uses biometric sensors to monitor and enhance the driver's level of alertness. Jaguar is installing brainwave sensors adapted from NASA into the steering wheel of an XJ sedan, along with medical-grade heart and respiratory sensors in the seat. Together, the sensors would determine if the driver is focused on the road, dozing off, merely thinking about something else, or if the driver's stress level suddenly peaks. The system would enable the vehicle to better prepare for an emergency, or for a future autonomous vehicle to hand off control to a better-prepared driver where needed. At the same time, JLR is also working on an enhanced infotainment system designed to reduce the amount of time the driver's hands are off the wheel and their eyes are off the road. The system determines which control they're reaching for on the display and engages it while their finger is still in mid-air, deploying an ultrasonic pulse to provide artificial haptic feedback without actually having to touch anything. Finally, a new haptic accelerator pedal is under development that could alert the driver to respond to an impending situation without overloading the senses with chimes and beeps. These latest developments follow the demonstration of a remote-control system installed on a Range Rover Sport, and follow in a long line of new technologies under development by the British automaker. JAGUAR LAND ROVER ROAD SAFETY RESEARCH INCLUDES BRAIN WAVE MONITORING TO IMPROVE DRIVER CONCENTRATION AND REDUCE ACCIDENTS - Jaguar Land Rover's pioneering Mind Sense project is researching measuring brainwaves to monitor driver concentration in the car - Researchers are developing a Wellness Seat in a Jaguar XJ which analyses the driver's heart rate and breathing to monitor driver health and stress - Touchscreens that predict which button you want to press as the user's fingers are in mid-air - to minimise time spent with eyes off the road - Jaguar Land Rover researchers use new haptic accelerator pedal to communicate hazards to the driver Whitley, UK: Jaguar Land Rover has revealed a range of new road safety technology research projects that are being developed to reduce the number of accidents caused by drivers who are stressed, distracted and not concentrating on the road ahead.
