Land Rover 109 Stage 1 Series 3 V8 Station Wagon Extremely Rare on 2040-cars

Land Rover 109 stage 1 v8 station wagon, VIN SALLBCMV2AA101794 To see over 40 pictures, email me for a link. Ebay won't allow me to place the link in the ad. Yes,
a 109 Stage 1 V8 - one of the best and most sought after Land Rovers. Possibly one of the rarest in the US as well. If
you don't know much about the stage 1 V8, here's some useful background info
from various sites: "Stage 1" refers to the first stage of investment
by the British Government in the company to improve the Land Rover and Range
Rover product offerings, which eventually led to the Land Rover 90 and 110. The
use of the Range Rover engine and drive train made it the only Series III
vehicle to have permanent four-wheel drive. From
Landroverclub.net, an entire site dedicated to stage 1 V8's: "The Stage One V8 is - in our opinion - the best
Series Three ever built. Where diesel engines just lack power or 2 1/4 engines
lose power after 150,000 kms, the Stage One V8 keeps going strong. There is
nothing comparable to that joy when Sally, the prototype, revs up to 120
kms/75miles/h or passed impenetrable mudholes crossed by sheer torque. " This
Land Rover is in great condition for its age.
The body is straight, the motor runs strong and smooth. The dual carbs are a little touchy and may
need to be tuned for your altitude (I'm at 5500 feet and had them serviced last
year, running well). This
is not a restored land rover but is in great shape for its year. The original front seats have been replaced
for a set of Discovery seats, which I really like. The front grille is of course not stock but I
prefer the Defender grille, but a purest would probably replace it for the
stock wire grille. The paint is old and
was probably an inexpensive paint job. It looks
good from 10 feet away but when you get close you can see the chips and
scratches. Odometer says 137,000 KM (85,000 miles), believed to be accurate, but I don't have documentation to verify. A VIN check will indicate that this vehicle is left had drive. It was indeed flipped to RHD at some point in its life. It could be flipped back to LHD without issue but I actually prefer the RHD. All
of the gauges and lights work. This is a great vehicle and someone will enjoy this. I just don't drive it and need the garage space. I'm
into this over 17,000 and my reserve is set well below that. Please remember that this vehicle is 31 years old but fantastic condition for its age. Please give me a call or message with any further questions, and if you're local, feel free to come and see it.
The investment programme also produced the 5 door Range Rover, and
culminated in the replacement of the Series III Land Rovers by the coil-sprung
110" and 90" Land Rovers in 1983 and 1984 respectively. The Stage 1 introduced some new features which would be carried
forward to the 90/110 range. Permanent four wheel drive - most previous series
models had selectable 2 or 4 wheel drive. The radiator was moved forwards which
gave us the flat fronted appearance still seen on the Defender. The bonnet was
llonger than the 'standard' Series IIIs, rounded at the front and wrapping
around at the leading edge. The door locks are mounted in the door skin rather
than in the handle aperture (also carried on to military Defenders)." |

April Fools' Day brings Jeep Sedan, Hyundai N Roadster, Toyota Yaris pickup and more
Mon, Apr 1 2019There is one day out of the year when public relations professionals have permission to lie to journalists and to the public: April Fools' Day. Manufacturers release details about wild, weird and wacky new technology, concept vehicles and services. Some take it to obvious outlandish extremes (Jeep Sedan anybody?), while others plot to mislead with products that are just outside the realm of possibility. Check out all the "jokes" below. BMW Motorrad BMW doesn't want to exclude anybody from experiencing the thrill of high-level racing, so it is introducing 'iRace" autonomous programming on its S 1000 RR sport bike. It includes beginner, sportsman, advanced and unlimited driving modes, and stores GPS information for all Superbike world championship tracks. Hyundai Hyundai is wrong for this. The Hyundai N Roadster is the work of South Korean designer Yeonjoon Park and features a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, rear-wheel drive and a hard convertible top. Hyundai says this is a "concept (for now)," but we think it'd make a seriously great Mazda Miata competitor. Honda Honda wins the award for the best interactive gimmick, as its press release for the '90s-inspired special-edition Pastport includes a live hotline number with a message from Fred Savage. Call 1-833-PASTPORT for more information. Jeep Put the Jeep Cherokee face on the Chrysler 300's body, and voila! The 2019 Jeep Sedan is born. We can't decide if the name or the rendering is better. Land Rover Accessibility to charging ports is of major concern to anybody with a plug-in vehicle. So, with the recent launch of the Range Rover P400e and Range Rover Sport P400e, Land Rover is putting forth an effort to install more stations around the globe. First up is Scotland's Isle of Skye. Adventurers need juice too! Lexus Australia Lexus expands its Encore service to include doggos. The new service, called Enpaw, will take pups to luxury boarding kennels in style. Toyota U.S. Toyota created the Yaris Adventure pickup for "those who want to tell their friends they own a truck but never veer off pavement." It's part Mazda 2, part RAV4, 100 percent ute and it looks ... great? Creating a new segment might be all fun and games to Toyota, but Ford is reportedly considering a Focus-based ute in a similar, albeit larger, style. Toyota Australia Toyota is launching a new HiAce van, and it's already getting a limited-edition variant called the PieAce.
Jaguar teases four-door EV grand tourer; electric Range Rover orders open this year
Wed, Apr 19 2023Jaguar just revealed a few vital details about a new EV it says will be revealed by the end of 2023, and Land Rover shared a little update about its upcoming electric Range Rover, too. Starting with the Jag, JLR — the new, official name for Jaguar Land Rover — announced that its next electric vehicle will be a four-door GT car. The image above is the teaser the company provided. Power output will be greater than any previous Jaguar, with the current record holder being the XE SV Project 8 at just over 590 horsepower. Range is claimed to be about 430 miles on a full charge (Jaguar doesn't specify the test cycle type), but that number could be different (and likely lower) here in the United States once EPA testing takes place. Jaguar says the grand tourer will debut its new in-house EV platform that is officially named JEA, which is unrelated to the electric XJ that was scrapped a couple years ago. And lastly, Jaguar says the vehicle will start at GBP100,000 in Great Britain. Pricing for the United States wasnÂ’t estimated, but a direct conversion at todayÂ’s rates puts it at about $124,000. Considering the price point, power level and range, this Jaguar is shaping up to be a potential Porsche Taycan competitor. The single teaser image at the top of this post suggests the same, as the photo shows a car with a fast-sloping roofline and wide, bulging fenders. ItÂ’s an exciting teaser, as it pretty much confirms that Jaguar will be coming in hot with a spicy-looking electric four-door. The last detail about this Jag confirmed today is its production site, as Jaguar says it will build the vehicle at its Solihull plant in the West Midlands, England. As for the Range Rover news, weÂ’ve known an electric Range Rover was on its way, now we know that the vehicle will launch in 2025. JLR says it will begin accepting orders for the electric Range Rover later this year, but didnÂ’t set an official date. The electric Range Rover will be built at JLRÂ’s Halewood plant in Merseyside, England. Those are all the details we know about today, but expect more teasers and information leading up to the reveal of these new EVs later in 2023. Related video: This content is hosted by a third party. Jaguar Land Rover says half its models will be hybrids or all-electric by 2020
Tue, Nov 22 2016Neither Jaguar nor Land Rover has ever been mistaken for big-time green-car brands, but their parent company is trying to change that. Jaguar Land Rover looks to have as many as half of its models be of the hybrid, plug-in hybrid, or battery-electric variety by 2020, CEO Ralf Speth said at the Los Angeles Auto Show last week. Speth made the announcement while showing off the I-Pace concept compact crossover. The green-car expansion would mark a natural extension of Jaguar Land Rover's decision last year to double the headcount in its advanced-engineering department. As for the five-seat I-Pace, that model will be Jaguar Land Rover's first production electric vehicle when it starts sales in 2018. The car will have a 90-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack that will deliver a single-charge range of about 220 miles. Boasting more than 400 horsepower, the car will also be able to go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in about four seconds. What's also notable is that Jaguar says the model has been designed to be an electric vehicle from the ground up, and hasn't been converted from the platform of an existing model. Of course, Jaguar late last year said it would enter a team in the FIA Formula E electric-vehicle open-wheel racing circuit, so the British badge has made recent noise about upping its green-car quotient. As for the I-Pace, the automaker hasn't revealed pricing on the model, but it's safe to say that it will be quite high. Check out a three-minute video of Speth's presentation here. Related Video:
