I am a Land Rover enthusiast and collector, this is one of two older Defenders I had rebuilt in the UK using ROW (Rest of the World) spec Defenders as parts vehicles. I have driven my other one as my daily driver and expedition vehicle for six years and it has never failed me. This low mileage  beauty I am offering for sale has been stored in my garage, taken to a few shows and generally just run every few months.

I started with a 1983 110 and refurbished it using a complete ROW Spec Defender that I found that had been unloved in a Ministry of Defence warehouse for a couple of years.

So this is about as stock as you will ever come by and built using all new take-off parts with only 3,124 miles on the donor vehicle.

The spec's are:

Galvanized Chassis
300TDi non-electronic
R380 5-speed Transmission
10 passenger seating
Air Conditioning
Side and Rear Entry Steps
Front Steering Guard
AM/FM/Casssette Stereo

The vehicle is located in Vancouver, BC and registered in British Columbia.

This configuration is considered by many to be the Best Defender ever built. It will only appreciate in value and I am selling it because it deserves to be used and is surplus to my requirements.

Should you want to accessorize the vehicles I have an A-bar, roof rack, light guards, etc. I even a set of new Melvill and Moon Canvas Seat Covers available for sale.

The last picture is of my daily driver which has taken me through Western Canada, the Western US, Arizona, Colorado and Utah.  It is virtually the same vehicle without the expedition gear.

I would be happy to assist in shipping if required.

Please don't hesitate to contact me with questions.

Is Land Rover developing an all-electric Tesla Model X rival?

Fri, Oct 31 2014

Tesla will soon put its all-electric Model X crossover on sale, and if it's anywhere near as successful as the brand's four-door sedan the Model S, then it'll be a hell of an attention getter for mainstream automakers. Land Rover isn't waiting for proof of the Model X's success, though. According to reports, Land Rover could be preparing an all-electric Range Rover. Likely more crossover than full-size SUV, the new vehicle would probably be far more aerodynamic than current models. But the new EV would still take advantage of LR's high-tech aluminum structure, and could potentially be a close relative of the production Jaguar C-X17, according to Autocar. It seems unlikely that this new Land Rover EV will have the off-road chops of the brand's other models, but that doesn't mean that will be useless on the rough stuff. AC, citing Land Rover design boss Gerry McGovern, claims that a height-adjustable air suspension will allow a low, aerodynamic ride height for high-speed travel while it can easily be transitioned to a higher level for off-road duty. As for range, AC believes (and we agree) that a successful effort would need to get as close as possible to the Model S' 265-mile EV range. Autocar is anticipating a price of around 90,000 pounds, equivalent to $144,000, which roughly matches the cost of a UK-market Model S. If the Range Rover EV comes stateside, we'd wager that prices will start under six figures, much like the US-market Tesla.

Jaguar Land Rover opens new $1.6 billion factory in Slovakia

Thu, Oct 25 2018

BRATISLAVA, Slovakia — Jaguar Land Rover is opening a new, $1.6 billion plant in Slovakia, the luxury car maker's first in continental Europe. The U.K.-based company, owned by India's Tata Motors, built the plant near Nitra, about 65 miles east of Bratislava, to initially produce 150,000 cars a year. The Slovak government is giving the carmaker investment subsidies of up to 130 million euros ($148 million). Slovakia is a regional car-making powerhouse. Germany's Volkswagen AG, France's PSA Peugeot Citroen and South Korea's Kia Motors all have a major plant in this Central European country of 5.4 million people. The company said it will shift all production of its Discovery model from Birmingham, England, to Slovakia amid falling diesel sales, vehicle taxes and uncertainty about Britain's Brexit departure from the European Union.Related Video:
