This is our latest customer feedback:

Hi guys…

I wanted to write you a brief note to compliment you on the quality of the LRD110 I purchased from you off EBay.  I have now used the truck for 6 months with trouble-free service.  I have had a few repairs done by two separate LRD specialists (one near each of my houses) both of whom have heavily praised the truck’s condition given its age.  I have purchased two vehicles off of EBay – and I’m sure you guys know that it can be risky.  Thanks for being so diligent in finding this clean original specimen!  The experience has been ”just what I wanted”.

Best regards,
j.d.

The Vehicle

As you can see above, lots of work has been done and even more money has been spend to make this land rover technically perfect. It’s originally from Birmingham, UK, where it spend most of its life being a second car of a land rover enthusiast. He used it to go camping in the woods and to go fishing. Therefore the relatively low mileage.

The Engine

The 2.5 liter 4 cylinder diesel engine, is one of the best and most reliable engines land rover ever build. They’re made to last forever, are easy to maintain and never let you down. Not the quickest of all engines but very reliable. Due to new engine mounting rubbers, the vehicle vibrates a bit now but this will go away once the rubbers soften by use.

The Transmission

Is a 5 speed manual transmission. Both gearbox and transferbox work excellent. No weird noises, rattles or what so ever. Selecting gears goes smooth as it should. The Defender is permanently in 4 wheel drive. High/low gear and differential lock are present and work perfectly. The gear knob is below and next to the gearbox stick.

The Body

The aluminum body is in a good condition. Of course you can see here and there that it isn’t new, some scratches and age marks. But for a 27 year old vehicle, it is beautiful! The bulkhead and foot wells are clean and rust free. The doors are totally straight. There is some rust at the bottoms, which isn’t visible from the outside and isn’t bad. Something that is very typical for a Defender. Now water that enters the inside of the doors through the windows can easily flow out. The windows work as they should. The locks all work and on the same key.

The Defender has a tow bar with electrics. Also a robust roof rack is mounted with big new Wipac lights. They can be switched on and off by a switch behind the stick.

The Chassis

The complete chassis is in perfect condition. It is hard and strong as to expect from this car. It has been coated with a special impregnation substance that prevents rust and keeps it strong. This was done every two years by the previous owner. The chassis number or VIN is clearly visible. The VIN is:

SALLDHAC7BA304107

SALManufacturer code: Land Rover
LDModel: Defender (for early models: Ninety, or One Ten)
HWheel base: 110 inch
aBody type: 2-door: hard top
cEngine type: 2.5 litre diesel (model 12J)
7Steering and transmission: Right-hand drive (RHD), 5-speed manual
bModel year: 1985-1987
AAssembly location: Solihull, UK
304107Serial number

The Interior

The inside of the vehicle is clean and tidy. The seats are leather Jaguar brown/beige and in very good condition. There is a brand new black cubby box between the seats to store your stuff. The load space is big and has 2 benches. There is a new rubber mat on the floor to prevent sliding of goods.

The Tires

The Defender has got 5 general grabber all terrain tires which are almost like new, mounted on the popular “Boost Alloy” wheels.

Service

It has just got a full service. All the oils and lubricants in the axles, gearbox, transfer box and so one have been refreshed. The Defender’s power steering system is in excellent condition. No play at all in the steering wheel, which is rather strange for a classic Defender.

Trying to be as honest as possible, I need to mention that the bottom of the left door has some rust, which isn’t bad but I have to mention it.

Finally, because the engine has just got new mounting rubbers, which need to get a little flexible, the Defender vibrates a little more when stationary. This will decrease quickly.

Customs, title and delivery

The vehicle passed all DOT and DMV test/inspections and is 100% USA legal. Furthermore, in contrast to a lot of Defenders for sale on ebay, this Defender is already in the USA, Maryland, and has cleared customs, meets all EPA & DOT regulations and is ready to be titled. All necessary paperwork will be included.

Where needed, we can assist with the titling as we have got the experience.

DELIVERY ANYWHERE IN THE US OR CANADA IS POSSIBLE. FOR INFORMATION ON DELIVERY CALL STRYDER ON +1 4062702028

Deposit, Payment, Title

To secure the Land Rover, we require a deposit of $500,-. The remaining amount by bank transfer on the day of transportation.

After the full amount has been transferred and the car is delivered, all necessary paperwork will be send by Express delivery.

Our Story

We started our Land Rover journey with a dream, driving a classic Defender from cape to cape. That means from the North-cape in Norway to Cape town, South Africa. Therefore we refurbished a 1986 3 door Land Rover Defender 110, and modified her to a camper van. After that, she was mechanically and optically sound to make this incredible journey. By the time our project finished, we were addicted… So we started our own business to buy, refurbish and sell classic Defenders.

This is a big adventure which makes lots of fun and gives even more happiness! Especially our happy and enthusiastic customers who still give us updates on their Land Rover experience. This makes us even more motivated to do our utmost best to deliver a high quality end product.

We don’t do every Defender that crosses our path.  We only do the ones we love.  As a Defender is not just another car, used to travel from A to B. Every Defender has its own character and emotional experience. And when you work with passion on something that you love, the only outcome possible is positive.

After 30 very successful projects we have harvested a huge amount of knowledge. Together with a team of very enthusiastic and experienced land rover mechanics we are able to deliver a beautiful and high quality Defender.

We can’t guarantee that you will have a trouble free experience with these classic beauties given their age, that would be unreal, but we can guarantee that we checked, repaired/renewed and checked again all parts!

The only question that has left...

Are you Landventurous enough to drive your Dreamfender?

Kia leads J.D. Power's Vehicle Dependability Study for 2022

Thu, Feb 10 2022

For the first year ever, Kia leads J.D. Power's annual Vehicle Dependability Study with a score of 145 problems per 100 vehicles. Buick (147) and Hyundai (148) round out the top three. The highest premium brand on the list is Genesis, with a score of 148. It's common for so-called "mass market" brands to lead this particular study, according to J.D. Power, as "premium" brands "typically incorporate more technology in their vehicles, which increases the likelihood for problems to occur" and aren't necessarily built to a higher standard that less-expensive brands. The highest-rated single nameplate is the Porsche 911. It's the third time out of the past four years and the second year in a row that Porsche's quintessential sports car has taken top honors. Porsche as a brand sits in seventh place (162) just behind Lexus (159) and ahead of Dodge (166). At the very bottom of the list is Land Rover with a dismal score of 284; the SUV specialist held the same unfortunate distinction on last year's list. Ram (266), Volvo (256), Alfa Romeo (245) and Acura (244) also performed poorly. The overall industry average score sits at 192 — mass market brands average a score of 190 while premium brands sit 14 points lower at 204. While Tesla is unofficially included in some of J.D. Power's results, the agency says the sample size it has access to for this study is too small to include. As has been the case for the past several years, infotainment systems dominate the list of problems reported by owners. Popular (or unpopular, depending on your point of view) complaints include built-in voice recognition (8.3 PP100), Android Auto/Apple CarPlay connectivity (5.4 PP100), built-in Bluetooth system (4.5 PP100), not enough power plugs/USB ports (4.2 PP100), navigation systems difficult to understand/use (3.7 PP100), touchscreen/display screen (3.6 PP100), and navigation system inaccurate/outdated map (3.6 PP100). While problems with the car's infotainment and technology packages are indeed bothersome, it's important to remember that such issues aren't usually leaving owners stranded with an immovable vehicle like a broken transmission or blown engine would. Culling infotainment complaints from the results would reduce the average problem-per-100-vehicle score by a staggering 51.9 points. The vehicles included in this study are from the 2019 model year. That means owners have had three years to get to know their cars and trucks. It's the 33rd year that J.D.

Is this a Jaguar or Land Rover of the future? Yes, the near future

Tue, Feb 18 2020

Jaguar Land Rover has unveiled a concept vehicle, Project Vector, that the company heralds as preview of future urban transport. The Project Vector is an EV, naturally, and is built on a skateboard chassis with all mechanicals under the floor. That provides for maximum space efficiency in the city-sized vehicle—JLR says it's roughly four meters long, which would make it about half a foot longer than today's Mini Cooper hardtop. It also allows for reconfigurability. The interior is accessed via dual center-opening sliding doors on one side. Four individual seats appear to be mounted on tracks and are shown facing in the same direction, but JLR also says the vehicle can be adapted for delivery use (presumably with most of the seats removed). Project Vector is described as "autonomous-ready," but for now it has a steering wheel and pedals. It's also claimed to be optimized for ride-sharing or private use. The vehicle was developed at the UK's National Automotive Innovation Centre, with the intention to make it a part of the "urban mobility solutions" in the "ecosystem of a smart city," according to JLR. The first such smart city will be Coventry, where an "urban mobility service" will be launched in 2021. Check out King Charles III's $17.6 million car collection

Fri, May 5 2023

King Charles III's coronation will take place in England on May 6, and being crowned a monarch comes with a long list of perks with four wheels. He will gain full access to the Royal Family's fleet of cars, which is valued at about GBP14 million (approximately $17.6 million). The two most expensive cars in the collection are nearly identical: they're a pair of Bentley State Limousine models (pictured) built for Queen Elizabeth II, King Charles III's mother, in 2002. Only two units were made, and they're both part of the Royal Family's fleet, so they're difficult to put a value on; it's not like one is going to end up listed on your favorite auction site anytime soon. British company Nationwide Vehicle Contracts, which compiled the list, estimates that each armored, 245-inch long sedan is worth at least GBP10,000,000 (roughly $12.6 million). Dropping below the eight-digit threshold, the second-most-valuable car in the Royal Family's fleet isn't really a car. It's the Gold State Coach, which Matchbox recently released a 1/64-scale replica of, and its value is estimated at GBP1.6 million (about $2 million). At 275 inches long it's even bigger than the Bentley limousine and it weighs about 9,000 pounds. It's 261 years old and designed to be pulled by eight horses, and has been part of every coronation since 1831. The rest of the Royal Family's vehicles are relatively mundane. There's a 1965 Aston Martin DB6 Volante that Queen Elizabeth II and her husband, Prince Phillip, bought for King Charles III on his 21st birthday. It's worth GBP1 million (about $1.2 million). The collection also includes a Rolls-Royce Phantom VI (about $627,000), a Bentley Bentayga (about $201,000), a Land Rover Range Rover long-wheelbase Landaulet ($133,000), a Jaguar XE (about $41,000), and a Land Rover Defender ($38,000). "Luxury cars have long been associated with the monarch and King Charles III, in particular, is known for his fondness of motor vehicles. His impressive collection features sentimental value with motors passed down from his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II, to cars bought for him by his parents," explained Keith Hawes, the director of Nationwide Vehicle Contracts, in an interview with CBS News. Being at the head of a car-making nation's royal family also comes with drawbacks: Every vehicle in King Charles III's fleet is British.
