DREAMFENDERS ARE PLEASED TO OFFER FOR SALE A ......

1986 LANDROVER 90 3.5 V8 IN BLACK WITH OFF ROAD EXTRAS

Ebay does not recognise the UK vin which is - SALLDHAV7FA365345

This Landrover unlike many others for sale is already in the USA and comes with a SC title so no worry about getting EPA and DOT approval along with getting a title as all this has been done. I am located in Bluffton, SC, 29910.

$500 deposit required within 24 hours of auction end and full payment within 5 days. Payment can be by cash etc if collecting in person or by wire transfer if having it couriered.

The Landrover itself is a right hand driver Landrover 90 that was built new in 1986. It has been recently imported from the UK where the previous owner has used it somewhat as an off-road toy as you can see by the added off road extras it has fitted. It has the original 3.5 litre v8 gasoline engine and 5 speed manual transmission. The extras that have been fitted include an off road set of wheels with off road tyres, heavy duty tree sliders, heavy duty tow on the front and rear, winch bumper and winch (not wired in) and also an integral roll cage. This Landover has obviously been used for off roading and has a few dings around the body but mainly to the roof. It looks worse than it is as a new roof could be fitted if wanted as all panels are removable on these.

The main thing with this 90 is the fact that the frame is in superb condition. It has had the rear cross member changed at some point so that expensive job has been taken care of. The outriggers are in excellent shape as is all of the chassis and no work is needed to be done to it. The bulkhead is in great shape and is again nice and solid. The floor pans have been replaced and are in good shape. The door frames are also in very good condition for one of these. I have taken many images of the chassis below so please take a look for yourselves.

The interior is in good shape. The front seats are in a beige cloth material and are in remarkable condition for the age of the vehicle. There is no wear and no stains to them at all and they are very good indeed. To the rear of the 90 is the installed roll frame. In here there is also an off-road spare and also a genuine Landrover high lift jack. You will notice that there are 2 storage boxes in the rear. These are full of brand new spare parts etc for the Landy. There are new coils, new ht leads, new fan belts, alternator belts, spark plugs, filters etc etc and I'm sure this will be handy when spares are needed.

The Landy cranks up well. The fuel pump has just been renewed as the old one was a little bit lazy. The motor sounds good with no nasty noises etc and runs nicely. The exhaust has been upgraded to a twin exit which sounds a bit louder than normal but I see that as a positive especially with the V8 motor. The transmission is a 5 speed manual LT77 box which has the top left reverse. All gears shift well with no issues. The clutch is also good and the brakes, steering, suspension etc are all good.

In conclusion this is a very solid Landrover 90 with a superb, strong chassis. It has some great off road extras fitted and will be a great piece of kit for someone regardless of the various dings and marks and most importantly it has a SC title so its good to go :-))

Happy bidding

Jaguar Land Rover moves closer to building Slovakia plant

Tue, Aug 11 2015

Jaguar Land Rover has announced its intention to build a new assembly plant in Slovakia. Though it has yet to make the final decision, the British automaker has signed a Letter of Intent with the Slovakian government. Its next step is to launch a feasibility study before committing. If the company does go ahead with plans, it wouldn't be the first automaker – or even the first European luxury automaker for that matter – to start producing in Slovakia. Nor would it be the first Jaguar Land Rover plant outside the UK, either. The Volkswagen Group, PSA Peugeot Citroen, and Kia all manufacture in the Central European country. VW's Bratislava plant in particular handles production of the Touareg, Audi Q7, and Porsche Cayenne. In the past few years, JLR has expanded its production capacity to new locations outside of the UK. It has a new factory in China, one under construction in Brazil, and has been manufacturing in India – home country of its parent company Tata – since 2011. It recently announced a manufacturing contract with Magna Steyr in Austria, and is investing in its facilities back home as well. Though yet to be finalized, the prospect of manufacturing in Slovakia has proven more favorable to JLR than other locations in Europe or in the United States or Mexico – all possibilities that the company says it looked into. It has yet to reveal just what it would produce there, saying only that "the plant would manufacture a range of aluminium Jaguar Land Rover vehicles," that the plant would be earmarked to come online in 2018 and eventually ramp up production to 300,000 vehicles. The prevailing wisdom would seem to indicate, however, that the site is being considered for the next-generation Land Rover Defender. Jaguar may join the FWD, small-car parade

Tue, 13 Aug 2013

Was it right for Chevrolet to detune the 1975 Corvette's base engine to 165 horsepower? Was Aston Martin wrong to make the Toyota iQ-based Cygnet? Is BMW crazy to be testing the new 1 Series with three-cylinder engines and front-wheel drive? It seems now, just as in the 1970s and 1980s, that emissions regulations and social considerations are driving some automakers to adopt unbefitting practices to maintain acceptance in the eyes of governments and consumers. Jaguar has jumped on the bandwagon, and is considering development of small, frugal, front-wheel-drive cars to help lower Jaguar Land Rover's average vehicle CO2 levels in light of tightening European emissions regulations, Autocar reports.
By 2020, the European Union expects the model range of every manufacturer to average 95 grams per kilometer, which is a new law passed by the European Parliament in April. Manufacturers who make more than 300,000 vehicles per year must meet these targets, and JLR is expected to be producing up to 700,000 vehicles per year by then. CO2 regulations after 2020 will only get stricter, as EU politicians already are talking about lowering CO2 levels to between 68 g/km and 78 g/km. (To put that in perspective, Autocar posits that driving a fully charged electric vehicle in Europe produces about 75 g/km when factoring in the power-generation infrastructure.)
Jaguar has some choices here, but so far they all have drawbacks. It could develop a new, compact chassis architecture for a line of compact vehicles, but the investment required for such a project could be prohibitively expensive. Jaguar has been looking into using the Land Rover Evoque platform for a small SUV, Autocar reports, but Land Rover brand manager John Edwards raises issue with such a plan, saying it may not be financially feasible.

Jaguar Land Rover launches Pivotal subscription service

Fri, Jul 3 2020

Two years ago, Jaguar Land Rover launched a subscription service in the UK dubbed Carpe. The program was effectively a 12-month lease with no deposit and no mileage limit, and an all-inclusive monthly payment covering insurance, tax, service, and repairs. For GBP910 ($1,134 U.S.) plus the cost of fuel every month, a subscriber could secure a Jaguar E-Pace at the bottom end, a payment of GBP2,200 ($2,741 U.S.) per month opening the doors to a Range Rover Sport. In between, the Range Rover Evoque cost GBP980, the Jaguar XE GBP1,200, the Range Rover Velar GBP1,255, and Land Rover Discovery GBP1,550. The numbers and customer feedback have encouraged JLR to turn Carpe into Pivotal, with new lease levels, terms, and restrictions. Instead of keeping a vehicle for 12 months, Pivotal subscribers pay GBP550 to join, then swap out every six months. Changing cars early incurs a GBP250 fee, or customers can request to stick with the vehicle they have beyond six months, but JLR reserves the right to switch out cars when necessary. Pivotal keeps tabs to the odometer, too — instead of unlimited driving, the program caps fee-free travel at 1,500 miles per month, 20 pence per mile after that. However, the FAQ section explains that "mileage is accumulative so do not worry if you do not use your full mileage allowance, the first month can be carried on into the next within a given vehicle."  Carpe's six levels have been reduced to four Pivotal tiers. Blue costs GBP750 ($934 U.S.) per month and offers access to the Jaguar F-Pace, Land Rover Discovery Sport, or Range Rover Evoque, clearly a much better deal than GBP910 for an E-Pace (and we like the E-Pace). Indigo runs GBP1,150 ($1,433 U.S.) for the choice of a Jaguar I-Pace, Range Rover Velar, or Land Rover Discovery. Violet, costing GBP1,350 ($1,682 U.S.), comes with just one vehicle for now, the Range Rover Sport. Same goes for Ultraviolet at GBP1,600 ($1,993 U.S.), which gets the Range Rover. The brand already has plans to expand the fleet with the new Defender, and plug-in hybrid versions of the Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque The only noted repair item not covered is windshield replacement, which carries a GBP150 deductible. The splashy rework in England comes shortly after Mercedes-Benz shuttered its Collection service here in the U.S. On trial for two years in Nashville, Philadelphia, and Atlanta, Collection couldn't get the traction Mercedes wanted.
