"LOW RESERVE" for a vehicle with all of this work, considerably less than some of the ones currently advertised on here. Shoot me an offer, I might take it.. I am not an importer/exporter or dealer. I hand picked this vehicle after several years of looking at vehicles in the UK.

For sale is my XMOD 1986 Land Rover 90 "Defender", Date in service October 16, 1986, vehicle spent all of its life in Cyprus before disposal in the UK in 2011.  I am the 2nd owner after release from the military. The previous owner hand picked this one from Witham's and had work done to it before I purchased it, the only reason he sold is because he picked up a Wolf and didn't need two Landy's.  Vehicle was used in a cross country trip by me from the UK to Romania, where she has been for the last 1.5 years, averaged around 28mpg at 60mph. Only reason I am selling is I am staying abroad a few more years and I am going to get something newer. I bought it and had all of the work done to import it myself, but since my plans have changed, this is the only reason I am selling her.

I am planning on driving her back towards the UK in the next few weeks if she sells and the mileage will increase to around 2000 miles. I will drive the vehicle to Rotterdam where it can be shipped to a East/West Coast port.  If vehicle does not sell, I might leave her in Romania until the fall, or just make the trip anyway and ship the vehicle to the states, do all the importation paperwork and sell her for a higher price later this year, this is your chance to save thousands of dollars.

Will include bill of sale, V5 from the UK and all paperwork, receipts. You will be responsible for shipping from Rotterdam to your location, import fees and applicable taxes.

If BIN price is met, I will cover shipping from Rotterdam to NY, or up to $1500 credit for shipping to another location, you are still responsible for import fees and applicable taxes.

10% deposit due 24 hrs after auction ends via Paypal, balance due within 72 hrs after auction ends (bank transfer or money order).

NOTE: EBAY DOES NOT VALIDATE THE UK VIN NUMBER. THIS VEHICLE IS A 1986 NOT A 1980 AS EBAY HAS IT LISTED

2.5 NA diesel and LT77 transmission, with typical small oil leaks, even after replacing gaskets, nothing major.
Very little rust, some on the chassis surface, and some on the interior bulkhead and floors, very miniscule.
Has NATO and civilian hitch, rubber floor mats, front and rear.
Tilt/canvas is in good condition, no tears or leaks, plastic is clear, small scratches, all ropes are present.

I have a current quote from Rotterdam to NY, they also have a import specialist there that can help with the import paperwork on the US side.

Jaguar Land Rover exploring 3D HUD and infotainment projections

Wed, Aug 21 2019

With its most recent technology research, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is exploring the use of 3D projections for a world before and/or after autonomous vehicles come to fruition. In collaboration with the United Kingdom's University of Cambridge, JLR has developed concepts for a 3D head-up display that shows information on the road ahead and a system that projects personalized 3D infotainment for vehicle passengers.  As of right now, hundreds of production vehicles are equipped with two-dimensional head-up displays, some color, others black and white. Using various techniques and different technologies, manufacturers display information in a flat image in front of a driver. Some might find it distracting or unhelpful to have this in the driver's line of sight, and JLR might have found a solution. Rather than wedge the information in between the person and the view ahead, a 3D system that uses augmented reality could display the info onto the road in front of the driver. JLR thinks the system could project navigation directions, safety alerts such as lane departure, hazard detection or other bits typically found in a car's infotainment or instrument cluster. Some might find this to be even more distracting that 2D head-up displays, but to each his or her own. While the 3D head-up display is something that could be used right now, if it were released and passed legal, part two of JLR's 3D technology research is imagined for a life where truly autonomous vehicles are skating across the country. Using head- and eye-tracking technology, the system could lock into the position of numerous people in a vehicle and give each of them a personalized 3D projection "screen." This could be used to track a trip, look up points of interest, or even watch movies. JLR points out this could be used during ride-sharing without bothering others in the vehicle. The work with the Center for Advanced Photonics and Electronics at Cambridge is still in development for now, but it's only a matter of time before 3D tech makes it into cars in some degree.

Jaguar Land Rover signs manufacturing contract with Magna Steyr

Thu, Jul 2 2015

Jaguar Land Rover is in the midst of implementing big plans. Those include a raft of new models, and a series of new manufacturing facilities to build them. It seems, however, that the former is outpacing the latter, as the British automaker has just announced a new manufacturing contract to have some of its vehicles built off-site. The latest deal is with Magna Steyr, the contract manufacturer based in Graz, Austria. That could see a Land Rover produced at the same facility that has handled the Mercedes G-Class since 1979, or a Jaguar at the same place that assembled the Aston Martin Rapide until 2012 when production was moved back to the UK. The big question at this point is just what JLR will choose to have Magna build on its behalf. The British automaker isn't saying at this point, but a spokesman confirmed to Autoblog that it will be a future product – not an existing line moved from its current production site to the contract manufacturer, as Mercedes recently did with the R-Class. A timeline wasn't announced at this early stage, either, but we're told it will take about 24 months before new Jaguars or Land Rovers start rolling out of the plant in Austria. Just what those new vehicles will be remains to be seen, but Jaguar Land Rover has a number of new products on their way. It is expected to reveal in the near future a new Defender, a replacement for the current LR4/Discovery, the new Evoque convertible, a new XJ flagship sedan, and possibly a new coupe and convertible to take the place of the old XK. We'll soon see the new Jaguar F-Pace, which may be followed by additional crossovers as well. The company also recently introduced the new XE, XF, and Discovery Sport models, though given the timeframes, they'll almost certainly be produced at JLR's existing facilities. It recently opened its first overseas plant in China, has another one under construction in Brazil, and is also said to be considering a plant in North America on either side of the US-Mexican border. Jaguar Land Rover Signs Contract Manufacturing Agreement With Magna Steyr Whitley, UK - Jaguar Land Rover has agreed a manufacturing partnership with Magna Steyr, an operating unit of Magna International Inc, to build some future vehicles in Graz, Austria.

Pivi Pro Jaguar Land Rover Infotainment Review | A massive improvement

Fri, Aug 6 2021

Infotainment systems in Jaguar Land Rover products have irked us for a long while. They’re generally a good step — or several — behind other luxury automakers' infotainment systems in terms of features and looks. But the big problem has always been their functionality. Even right out of the gate, they exhibited an undue amount of lag and general bugginess. Pivi Pro is supposed to change all of that. ItÂ’s JLRÂ’s completely new-from-the-ground-up infotainment system that is quickly spreading across the companyÂ’s range of products. It features a new screen size and layout. Plus, the software itÂ’s running is vastly different from what we saw previously. Our Byron Hurd got a first taste of it with a number of JLR products in a short period of time and found it to be a big improvement. Now, weÂ’ve had a new Land Rover Discovery in the garage for a longer period to fully suss out the system. Will it hold up? Watch the video above for a quick tour, and keep reading for some more detailed thoughts. Before diving in too deep, you should know off the top that Pivi Pro is a massive improvement over JLR infotainment systems of old. There are still some issues, but the new systemÂ’s performance is exponentially better than what itÂ’s replacing. This is partly thanks to it now running off its own backup battery. This allows the whole system to load immediately upon startup, ensuring that you arenÂ’t sitting and waiting for items to populate after you press the start button.  The new 11.4-inch screen this software plays on is splendid to both look at and touch. ItÂ’s a super-high-resolution panel, and it takes to our inputs quickly and without protest. The new UI layout makes things easier and prettier, too. All of your important items are tucked into a panel on the left, making them super easy to find and select. Plus, a sticky “home” button means you can always find your way out of menus when youÂ’re done diving around. We dig the three-panel home screen and its minimalist style, but for those who might favor maximum functionality over a pretty home screen, you can replace this with rows of app icons. For those wanting to use their phones, there is indeed an in-car WiFi data plan available to buy. Plus, JLR newly allows you to connect two devices via Bluetooth instead of just one. Both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are nicely integrated with this new system.
