1974 Landrover Series 3 Genuine Safarir Station Wagon

Ebay Does Not Recognise The UK VIN - The VIN is 90201870A

The Landrover was first registered 1974 so well past the 25 year threshold for entry into the States.

Shipping

I regularly send Landrovers to the States and know the Import Procedure inside out. I can arrange all shipping if needs be. Shipping to the East Coast (New York, Brunswick, Charleston etc) is $2500 and for the West  Coast (Port Hueneme etc) it is $3000. This includes delivery from me to the UK port of Southampton, UK Customs clearance and ship lading and transport to the USA. I will send the winning bidder the UK title
and you just collect from the US port that you have chosen.

Vehicle

The Landrover was first registered in the UK in 1974 and is a very rare genuine Station Wagon with the Safari roof. These are very hard to find in original condition like this one is. The motor is a 2286cc gasoline engine. The transmission is 4 speed manual and this one has the expensive Fairey Overdrive system installed.

The exterior is finished in Landrover Limestone and is the original colour that the car would have been painted. It is nice and solid and is an honest, original Landrover. It has not been restored previously and will be a sound buy for someone looking for a good useable Landrover. There are a few signs of age as it is 40 years old but nothing major at all. The doors are solid as are all the panels really. The frame is in decent shape also.  The interior is all original and has 3 seats in the front as well as bench seats in the rear so it can carry another 4 people in the back.

The truck has been looked over by my local Landrover shop and they have given it a good bill of health. The engine has been serviced and a new fuel pump has been fitted. The motor runs well and there are no issues at all. All gears shift fine and the transmission is very good indeed. Suspension, steering, brakes etc all works as they ought

Is It An Off-Road Adventure Or Just A Walk In The Park?
I remember having to get out and lock hubs and shift into neutral to engage low range.
Coming off press previews of the 2013 Land Rover Range Rover and the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee that involved some heavy-duty off-road rock climbing, I'm simply amazed at the capabilities that these vehicles possess. But even more impressive (or troubling depending on your perspective) is the relative ease with which you can operate these vehicles in seemingly impossible terrain.

Jaguars and Land Rovers to feature in 007's Spectre

Mon, Feb 9 2015

James Bond may be more closely associated with Aston Martin, but Jaguars and Land Rovers have featured in 007 movies new and old. Skyfall, the most recent installment in the series, opened with Bond and Moneypenny ripping through the streets of Istanbul in a Defender and saw M being chauffeured around London in an XJ. And the upcoming feature Spectre is set to feature some of JLR's finest as well. While Bond himself will be piloting the new Aston Martin DB10, the movie will also feature a Jag and a couple of Landies. The Jaguar C-X75 concept, as we know, will be part of a chase scene against the DB10, now revealed to be set in Rome. But the movie will also include the new Range Rover Sport SVR (with what looks like some auxiliary lighting) and at least two Defenders modified by JLR Special Operations to "Big Foot" specifications with 37-inch off-road tires, upgraded suspensions and added bodywork protection. As you may recall, a couple of months ago a fleet of nine vehicles used in the film were stolen from a garage in Dusseldorf, including five Range Rover Sports. This is the first confirmation we're seeing of any of them being SVR models, or of the Big Foot Defenders being part of the mix as well. The scenes including the Land Rovers have already been filmed in Austria, and we're looking forward to seeing them all on the silver screen come November. Broccoli's EON Productions, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, and Sony Pictures Entertainment. The Jaguar C-X75 will feature in a spectacular car chase sequence through Rome alongside the Aston Martin DB10. Who picks car colors and materials? Designers like Hannah Custance

Tue, Dec 21 2021

As automotive journalists, we're often asked "how did you get that job?" People usually didn't even know you could do such a thing. In this 7 Questions series, we're highlighting other jobs in the automotive industry that you might not have heard about before. What do they do, how'd they get to do it and other questions about their particular corner of the car world. Slowly but surely, the automotive landscape is becoming more colorful. Look beyond the unrelentingly conservative palette of white, black and gray most buyers opt for and you'll see the increased use of exterior trim types beyond the usual chrome. There's gloss black, of course, but also other metallic finishes like gold or copper. Those can be found inside, too, where there's also an increase in colorful leathers and trims, innovative fabrics, new wood types and finishes, and greater creativity in general. So where is this change coming from? The answer is designers like Hannah Custance, the color and materials design manager for Jaguar Land Rover. Her team's latest effort is also its magnum opus, the 2022 Range Rover. Although saddled with the expectations that comes with one of the automotive industry's classic nameplates, the all-new Range Rover is also a celebration of cutting edge manufacturing and fashion-forward materials selection. We sat down with Hannah at the L.A. Auto Show to find out more about color and materials designers, how she ended up in the industry, and advice she might have for young designers out there. It has been condensed for brevity. Autoblog: What does a color and materials design manager to do?Hannah Custance: I basically look after a team of designers who design finishes for every A surface on the car. So, that could be exterior finishes. It could be interior trim materials, soft materials, hard materials, chromes, metals, woods, ceramic – that's one of the new ones – anything you can kind of touch and see is color material design. Autoblog: How early in the design process does your team become involved.Hannah: Right at the very start. In fact, we look at materials that don't have a product assigned to them or a car assigned to them. So, it takes actually a very long time for us to get materials approved and fully validated. We have to find suppliers that are willing to work in automotive and our test standards are incredibly high, some of the highest in the industry.
