Lamborghini Huracan gets incremental upgrades for 2016

Lamborghini is rolling out a series of upgrades for the Huracan. And minor as most of them may be, they'll likely only further the desire among enthusiasts to get behind the wheel. Chief among the enhancements is a new cylinder deactivation system system that drops from ten cylinders to five under light loads. Lamborghini refers to it as the first such system to be implemented on a naturally aspirated V10, though it should be noted that is corporate cousin – the Audi R8 – incorporates a similar setup. Apart from selectively shutting down one of its cylinder banks, the 2016 Huracan benefits from a retuned all-wheel-drive system that promises "a neutral and even more improved driving behavior." The rest principally comes down to trim, including matt-black air vents and more leather inside, along with available cruise control and other convenience features. There's a new ten-speaker Sensonum audio system available, along with the global rollout of the optional sports exhaust, and an extension of the Ad Personal personalization catalog. Finally, buyers will also be able to show off even more than before with new carbon-fiber engine bay trim, a transparent cover, and even LED lighting. Although the options stand to inflate the price significantly, the base price with all of the standard upgrades remains the same. They're being applied to both the coupe and the recently revealed Spyder for the new model year. The Raging Bull marque is also tipped to be preparing a new rear-drive version that's expected to be unveiled later this month in Los Angeles. Infiniti takes QX60 on vacation for National Lampoon-inspired ad

Infiniti is packing up its version of the Wagon Queen Family Truckster for a new ad inspired by the American comedy classic National Lampoon's Vacation. Well, actually the 30-second spot replaces the green station wagon with a QX60, but the commercial does a great job of evoking the movie in a short time. The release timing is clearly perfect too given the remake hitting theaters on July 29 with Ed Helms and Christina Applegate. Infiniti's ad replicates one of the film's memorable scenes, but it replaces Chevy Chase behind the wheel of the Family Truckster and Christie Brinkley in a Ferrari 308. Instead, we get Ethan Embry in a QX60 and a blonde in a Lamborghini Gallardo droptop. The slight twist at the end really makes the commercial work, though. The ad starts airing nationally on July 9, but you can watch it streaming above now. Beyond just the surface-level homage, Infiniti gives the spot a slightly deeper connection to the Vacation series. Seriously?" The popular Infiniti QX60 continues to stand out in the premium crossover segment, excelling in the areas that luxury crossover buyers desire most – interior versatility, roominess, available safety, and available advanced hospitality features.

Lamborghini braces us for the end of Gallardo production

A changing of the guard is afoot in the Lamborghini stables. The Italian supercar brand sticks with a particular model for a respectably long period of time, thus any model changeover is cause for attention. First came the gloriously badass Aventador succeeding the Murcielago, which signals that the Gallardo replacement is on the way next. Not one to let any occasion go without its due pomp and circumstance, Lambo released a video entitled "The Final Gallardo."
The clip features various footage from the life of the Gallardo, worked in with a manifesto of sorts regarding Lamborghini's purpose, and how that fits into the Italian way of life. Little is stated about the Gallardo itself, let alone the eventual replacement. Additionally, it is unclear if the video is to celebrate a special "Final Edition," or merely the last Gallardo to roll out of Sant'Agata Bolognese.
