Lamborghini Huracan does quarter mile in just 8.6 seconds

If you're the wild and crazy sort that feels the need to up the output of an Italian exotic, more power to you. And one of the best ways to get that power is through turbocharging. Lots and lots of turbocharging. Just like Heffner Performance has done with this monstrous Huracan. By strapping a pair of turbochargers to the Lamborghini's V10 engine, Heffner's modded car is good for 1,200 horsepower at the wheels. If you don't feel like doing the math on what that is at the crank, just rest easy in knowing that it's a whole helluva lot. While you probably won't want to try and put that power down on a road course, it's absolutely appropriate on a drag-prepped surface. Combined with the super-sticky strip and some equally grippy tires, Heffner has turned in some impressive, sub-ten-second times. But its most impressive run is this – an 8.631-second run through the quarter, where the green Huracan hit 173 miles per hour. According to the results slip, it snapped to 60 in just 1.9 seconds, while Heffner claims it hit 100 in 3.7 seconds. So yeah, this is a very, very fast Lamborghini. Zagato Lamborghini 5-95 successfully aims to be an instant collectible [w/video]

1965 was the first time Zagato and Lamborghini hooked up, when the Milanese coachbuilder created the Lamborghini 3500 GTZ for Marquis Gerino Gerini. There have been several more collaborations since then, the one you see above being the latest: the Lamborghini 5-95, created for collector Albert Spiess and designed to be "a modern collectible" in honor of Zagato's 95th anniversary.
Underneath its Speed Racer curves is a Gallardo LP570-4, its visual mass pushed forward thanks to the striving front fascia and a wind deflector at the bottom of the windshield that lengthens the hood, and a shortened trunk that "reveals the brutality of the mechanical components" in back. Between them are Zagato trademarks like wraparound glass and the double-bubble roof, and the size of the obvious air intakes has been reduced by hiding others in the greenhouse and fixing a center intake above the roof.
The Lamborghini 5-95 is on show at this year's Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este at Lake Como in Switzerland. As for being a collectible, since it's headed straight for Spiess' garage afterward, we'd say they've got that part sealed up. Is Lamborghini readying a hybrid for Paris?

Lamborghini had us seriously stumped when it released its teaser (above) for a new vehicle that'll debut at the upcoming Paris Motor Show. The image seemed to depict a fastback GT somewhat reminiscent of Lambo's earlier 2+2 models like the Espada, and was accompanied by the sentence, "Once perfection is achieved, you can just double it." We're still not entirely sure what the means, but a possible leaked logo for the car might offer some big hints about its powertrain.
According to the Office of Harmonization in the Internal Market in Europe, Lamborghini applied for a trademark on the name Asterion on September 15 to cover vehicles, clothing, toys and video games. The logo (right) included a lightning bolt slashing through the 'O' in the word. That could suggest this forthcoming vehicle is a hybrid, but it's also not clear whether we're going to be hearing about a pure concept, or a production model.
The name itself might also be a tell. Asterion is one of the names for the Minotaur in Greek mythology, which is a creature that is part bull and part man. This could be another indication that the concept combines the traditional Lamborghini style with something else.
