Lamborghini Huracan does quarter mile in just 8.6 seconds

If you're the wild and crazy sort that feels the need to up the output of an Italian exotic, more power to you. And one of the best ways to get that power is through turbocharging. Lots and lots of turbocharging. Just like Heffner Performance has done with this monstrous Huracan. By strapping a pair of turbochargers to the Lamborghini's V10 engine, Heffner's modded car is good for 1,200 horsepower at the wheels. If you don't feel like doing the math on what that is at the crank, just rest easy in knowing that it's a whole helluva lot. While you probably won't want to try and put that power down on a road course, it's absolutely appropriate on a drag-prepped surface. Combined with the super-sticky strip and some equally grippy tires, Heffner has turned in some impressive, sub-ten-second times. But its most impressive run is this – an 8.631-second run through the quarter, where the green Huracan hit 173 miles per hour. According to the results slip, it snapped to 60 in just 1.9 seconds, while Heffner claims it hit 100 in 3.7 seconds. So yeah, this is a very, very fast Lamborghini. Details emerge on production-bound Lamborghini Sesto Elemento

The last we heard about the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento, Lamborghini had confirmed its production with only 20 examples of the track-only car planned, but now we're finally starting to get some of the details about this knife-edged car. AutoVisie recently had the chance to talk to Maurizio Reggiani, Director of R&D at Lamborghini, who not only confirmed what will power the new car, he also said that the production version will carryover almost untouched from what we saw in concept form at the 2010 Paris Motor Show.
What we now know is that the Sesto Elemento will share the same powertrain as the Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera including the 570-horsepower V10 and the all-wheel-drive system, and it will be built at a new factory dedicated to building prototypes and limited-volume cars like this. Also, the report states a curb weight of 2,200 pounds, a top speed of 320 kilometers per hour (198 miles per hour) and a 0-100 kph (0-62) time of just 2.5 seconds. The only changes made to bring the concept to production were to increase the car's rigidity and its safety. This means the car will still feature all-carbon-fiber construction and unique bucket seats that are actually built into the car's body; driver adjustments coming from the steering wheel and pedals.
The estimated price for the Sesto Elemento is two million euros, or around $2.6 million US, and although the original production date was slated for early 2013, Motor Authority now says that we'll have to wait for another "year or two" to see this car in the wild. Also, it does not appear that this is the mystery car recently teased in a 50th anniversary video released by Lamborghini.

The Lamborghini Trumpventador is gonna be huge

Some voters may choose to declare their support for their favorite candidate with bumper stickers, while others keep their preferences more private (or at least off of the surface of their cars). And then there's this Lamborghini Aventador. No matter how you feel about the 2016 election, can we all agree that a candidate-themed car is a bad idea? This (hopefully) one-of-a-kind Lambo began as a 691-horsepower Aventador. It now features a special wrap prepared by the folks at Superior Auto Design and emblazoned with Donald Trump's likeness and slogans. Star-spangled in red, white, and blue, this Aventador features The Donald's face on the nose and phrases like "you're fired!", "Trump Train" and "Make American GR8 Again!" all over the bodywork. Now if it strikes you as a little odd declaring one's support for Trump on a Lamborghini and not, say, a Jeep Wrangler, you may not be alone. The GOP front-runner has, railed against manufacturing automobiles abroad and repeatedly lambasted Ford for its factories in Mexico. Lamborghinis are, of course, built in Italy. But then again, Trump has owned at least one Lambo himself over the years. The Trumpventador is slated to take part in the 2016 Gold Rush Rally that's scheduled to leave Boston on May 13 and end in LA on the 21st, with stops in Washington, Charlotte, Nashville, Colorado Springs, Salt Lake City, and Las Vegas in between.
