Lamborghini to announce new Cabrera before Christmas
Mon, 02 Dec 2013After ten long and sleek years of production, Lamborghini recently built its last Gallardo. But don't expect the Bolognese automaker to go without an entry-level model for long.
A few days ago, Lamborghini started teasing the Cabrera, as the Gallardo's successor is expected to be called. Now the latest intel suggests that Sant'Agata will announce the first details of its next ten-cylinder supercar before Christmas ahead of the car's official unveiling sometime in the new year.
The Cabrera is expected to follow a similar mid-engine, all-wheel-drive layout as the Gallardo it replaces, only this time producing 600 or more horsepower from its upgraded 5.2-liter V10 engine.
Leno stretches Lamborghini Diablo's legs for latest Garage installment
Tue, 06 May 2014While posters of the Lamborghini Countach decorated the walls of many boys' walls in the 1980s, the Diablo filled that spot for young men in the early 1990s thanks to its extreme styling. In its latest video, Jay Leno's Garage welcomes a beautiful, white 1991 Diablo into his garage for a look back on what is now a classic supercar.
Unlike some of the vehicles Leno shows off, this one doesn't belong to him. Instead, veteran Italian car mechanic Franco Barbuscia owns it. He has been maintaining Jay's Countach for years. A '91 Diablo is an archaic supercar by today's standards. It doesn't have power steering, anti-lock brakes or obviously anything like traction control. It's just a big V12 hanging behind the driver with a wonderfully meaty roar that emanates from the exhaust.
Franco's Diablo might actually be better than new. It has a few upgrades to aid in drivability, like re-spaced pedals, a carbon-Kevlar clutch and more. Apparently all of the tweaks help a lot because, "it rides smoother than my Carrera GT," Leno enthuses about the car. Scroll down to reminisce about this Italian classic and get an ear full of its wonderful sound.
Transformers: The Last Knight promises a Lamborghini Centenario and lots of explosions
Wed, Dec 7 2016The director of the Transformers series, Michael Bay, took to Twitter to reveal the trailer for the latest installment, Transformers: The Last Knight. Based on the trailer, it looks like the film will likely deliver everything Transformers fans of the series enjoy, including big explosions, big robots, and most interesting for us, cool cars. Although this particular trailer is a little light on the car action, careful examination reveals some nifty machines. There will be at least a few massive International trucks painted in drab military colors. We also spotted a new Mustang in police livery. The most exciting ride we spotted, though, is a Lamborghini Centenario – the $2.5 million limited-run supercar – tearing through what looks like London. Bumblebee also makes an appearance, though not in his custom Camaro form. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Speaking of Bumblebee, it looks like he, and pretty much everyone else in the film, is going to have a rough time. The trailer shows that Earth is without Optimus Prime now, and his body is shown floating through space. In the meantime, some object has come to Earth, and it appears to have started a fairly massive war between humanity and, we're guessing, the Decepticons. Optimus Prime does eventually return, but he seems to have become an enemy, and is fighting Bumblebee at the end of the trailer. However, the leader of the Autobots going bad is probably the least confusing part of the trailer, as it starts showing knights fighting a dragon, and then segues into clips of Nazi Germany, all before actually getting to the present day. We should get some answers when the film hits theaters on June 23, 2017.
