One Of A Kind, Sv Monterey Edition #3, The Car Built For Mario Andretti on 2040-cars
Dallas, Texas, United States
As rare as they come:
This car does everything a Lambo should, it pins you to your seat, it stops on a dime, it handles like it's on rails and it gets more attention than any Exotic I have ever driven, and that includes other Lamborghinis, probably that paint that practically glows. Only 1 built, special for the man himself, Mario Andretti. This well cared for Diablo was Monterrey Edition (20) made, #3. The number 3 car was specially built for Mario Andretti to lead the Running of the Bulls to Pebble Beach. This is a 1 of 1 car. It had performance modifications from the factory to ensure Mario stayed in the lead including timing changes, custome headers, custome TUBI exhaust and intake porting. It also has Brembo big brakes, all from the factory. It has its own website http://www.lambocars.com/diablo/diablo_sv_monterey_edition.html It was in Motor Trend magazine. This car is: One of 20 Monterrey editions. One of One built for Mario Andretti. A rare SV. The only original Rosso Targa car in existence, this is a 3 stage paint job that changes from red to purple depending on the light. The only car to come with 3 piece chrome Kinesis wheels factory. The only car with factory headers, modified intake and modified factory exhaust as per Mario Andretti. Please read the link above with more information on this car. Previous owner had clutch, engine overhaul and brakes done at the now defunct Lamborghini of Orange County, once the largest Lamborghini dealership in the United States. She shows 70,xxx KILOMETERS, thats about 43,744 miles. Everything works. One of the photos is of Mr. Andretti pulling up at Pebble Beach after the Running of the Bulls. The car was purchased after the Running of the Bulls by "Lotto Jim", a man who won the California lottery that year. It was then part of a collection of a software engineer in CA. He traded it for a Murcialago at Lamborghini of Orange County. I purchased it, I can no longer drive a stick shift due to a leg injury, so she must go. She is a fantastic running car. No wrecks. Lamborghini Huracan crashes, burns, splits in two in Chicago
Mon, Aug 15 2016A burned and broken sports car strewn across the streets of Chicago isn't a pretty sight. This past weekend, a Lamborghini Huracan was involved in an accident that literally split the car in half, sending bits of carbon fiber, plastic, and metal all across a busy intersection. Thankfully, the driver survived and was pulled from the car just moments before it went up in flames. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. It's unclear who or what started the accident, but it's clear that a telephone pole finished it. According to NBC 5 in Chicago, witnesses say a Lincoln MKS struck the Lamborghini, pushing it into the telephone pole. The pole then split the car in half, sending the rear half of the car into a nearby fence. The front half lay broken on the street, yards away from the rear. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Although the damage to the Huracan was severe, the passenger cell did it's job and protected the driver. Many modern, high-end sports cars like the Huracan or the McLaren 650S feature a carbon-fiber crash structure that's designed to protect the occupants in an accident like this. Justin Bieber arrested for possible DUI, drag racing [w/video, UPDATE]
Thu, 23 Jan 2014Pop star Justin Bieber was arrested early this morning in Miami Beach, FL with TMZ.com listing his charges as including driving under the influence, drag racing, resisting arrest and driving on an expired license. TMZ says that Bieber was stopped for street racing his Lamborghini Gallardo, then failing a field sobriety test, and is being charged with resisting arrest for "refusing to take his hands out of his pockets."
It's also being reported that Bieber was racing against rapper Khalil (also arrested) who seems to have been driving a Ferrari 16M Scuderia Spider (although it was mistakenly called a "red Lambo" in the article). There is no additional information about the arrest of either men, but TMZ has obtained eyewitness video, which is posted below, that shows Bieber in his Lamborghini surrounded by fans and then later shows the car stopped by police officers.
UPDATE: As it turns out, the cars in question didn't actually belong to either Bieber or Khalil. We just received an email that indicates that both the Ferrari and the Lamborghini involved in the incident were rentals. The president of Lou La Vie, an exotic car rental outfit in Miami, is claiming ownership of both vehicles, though didn't provide any other significant information regarding the case.
Lamborghini's Centenario Roadster has arrived and it's already sold out
Fri, Aug 19 2016We love a good crazy Lamborghini design. While Pagani and, arguably, Koenigsegg have overtaken Lambo in the crazy department lately, Lamborghini still has its magic touch. For evidence, let us introduce you to the Centenario Roadster. It was unveiled this afternoon at Pebble Beach. Based on the Centenario coupe that was built in honor of Ferruccio Lamborghini's hundredth birthday (if he were still alive today), the roofless version is essentially the same supercar, but with the added luxury of unlimited headroom. Both Centenarios are based on the underpinnings of a Lamborghini Aventador and built around a carbon monocoque with a 759-horsepower, 6.5-liter V12 in the middle. Thanks to the naturally aspirated V12, the Centenario Roadster can sprint to 62 mph in 2.9 seconds, which is only a tenth of a second slower than the coupe. Not bad. Only 20 Roadsters will be built, the same number as the coupe, and, according to Automotive News, they've all been sold. While the hardtop went for $2 million, the Centenario Roadster, in all of its roofless glory, will run roughly $2.3 million. To us, even though we can't afford it, the insane price tag somehow makes sense.
