1971 Lamborghini Jarama Rare, Best Options, Only 28k Miles, Same Owner 33 Years! on 2040-cars

1971 Lamborghini Jarama, red with tan interior, only 27,937 miles.  Numbers matching chassis and motor. Only 177 examples of the Jarama were produced between 1970 and 1973, which makes this a very rare car. The engine is a 4 liter V-12 fitted with six Weber carburetors that produces 350 horsepower at 7500 rpm. Combined with a 5 speed transmission, the Jarama drives fast and sounds great, with a top speed over 150 miles per hour. This early Jarama is the most desirable configuration sought by knowledgeable collectors because it was fitted with Miura-type knock off wheels, and a leather dash instead of the plastic dash found on later Jaramas. It was also fitted with the desirable fold-down rear seatbacks, which can convert the car into a 2 seater!  This particular car was owned by the same family for almost 35 years, from 1980 until 2013. Once purchased a light recommissioning was done, including cleaning the carburetors, redoing the brakes, and installing a new exhaust center section. At the present time the car runs well, but it has not been driven a lot. Cosmetically here are the flaws-  the paint has some cracking in it, and there is a   mismatch of the paint detectable in the rockers where some minor rust was properly repaired by cutting it out and replacing it with new metal- now there is no rust on the car. The interior is very nice with soft leather. The correct gas cap is missing. And the windshield has a few small bubbles in the glass. Other than these flaws, this is a very nice example of a rare Lamborghini that with a little work to become an excellent example throughout.

A reputable West Coast dealer recently sold a Jarama needing a full restoration for approx. $75,000 on the first day it was advertised.  My car is in far better condition, and my reserve isn't much more. There have also been two sales in Europe of nice Jaramas at approx. $175,000 and $180,000 US dollars- clearly the market is finally starting to appreciate Jaramas, especially when compared to the far higher prices other Lamborghini models from this era are bringing.

The car is located in the northwestern corner of Connecticut, about 75 miles north of New York City.  If you have questions you can email me thru this website or call 860-350-1140. I have a page with more photos of the car- please got to forzamotorsports with the usual dot com ending. Buyer pays for shipping but I can help arrange transport to your door.  International buyers welcome. Thank you for viewing my listing.

Lamborghini agrees to produce Urus in Italy

Tue, May 26 2015

The Lamborghini Urus is apparently on the way, and it looks like it will be built in Italy. The news comes from Bloomberg, which claims Lambo CEO Stephan Winkelmann and Audi CEO Rupert Stadler will be joined by Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi on Wednesday to announce a series of tax breaks to bring SUV production to Italy. The report cites multiple "people familiar with the matter." The details of the deal include up to 500 new jobs in exchange for $87 million in tax breaks along with "other benefits," according to Bloomberg. Just over a year ago, it was looking like Urus production was headed for Slovakia, where it'd be built alongside its MLB platform-mates, the Audi Q7, Volkswagen Touareg, and Porsche Cayenne. News of Italy's bid surfaced this spring. We'll be sure to keep an eye out for any official news as it becomes available. Related Video:

Lamborghini Super Trofeo series will rent you a race car for $35k, all expenses included

Mon, 24 Jun 2013

Racing isn't cheap. The cars often command six-figure price sums, race teams don't work for free and then you have to get the car to races while feeding it an endless supply of tires. It's no surprise then that owning a race team is a multimillion-dollar affair, but Lamborghini and its North American Blancpain Super Trofeo series is a new way for licensed racers to get behind the wheel of a racecar for a much lower price.
As a part of the single-make series, Lamborghini will supply racers with everything you need for competition - including a race-spec Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo - as well as a trackside hospitality experience... all for a relatively affordable $35,000 per race weekend. Of course, not just anyone with a spare $35,000 can hop behind the wheel and hit the track. Lamborghini says that all drivers must have an FIA-accredited racing license for the International Motor Sport Association category with a "C" or "D" rating.
When it comes to the actual racing, there will be two 60-minute practice sessions, 40 minutes of qualifying and two 50-minute races, meaning that these cars might be the most expensive rental cars ever at $8,700 per hour. In its inaugural season, the Super Trofeo will run in conjunction with two Grand-Am races, two America Le Mans Series races, an IMSA race in Canada and finally an IndyCar race weekend in California.

Novitec Torado takes a stab at improving the Lamborghini Aventador [w/video]

Sat, 06 Jul 2013

Novitec has finished its tuning program for the Lamborghini Aventador, and it has called the mean-looking finished product, Torado. It looks like it wants to take the pedestrian sinisterness of the Aventador into an otherworldly rage, with carbon fiber vents, spoilers and protrusions lining the body from front to back.
Novitec says it's still good for daily use, even with four different stages of power tune and a fifth out-of-the-ballpark injection called "Bi-Kompressor." The power bumps start at 722 horsepower and 519 pound-feet and go up to 969 hp and 672 lb-ft with the bi-kompressor. The exhaust systems included in those packages are also good for shaving around 20 kilos from the car's weight.
There's a short press release below with more on Novitec's work, and a video of the Torado in the wind tunnel.
