Watch 14 hot rides take over concept car lawn at Pebble Beach

The Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance is an annual celebration of the beautiful, old cars that grace Monterey Car Week. But Monterey – and Pebble – features lots of newer metal, too, and that includes the concept lawn at Pebble Beach. Now, "concept lawn" isn't a totally accurate name anymore, and you'll see why in the list below. This year especially, plenty of production cars can be found in the area once reserved for the conceptual. Still, we're happy to see them. Lamborghini Urraco ownership is traumatic but awesome

Gene Ondrusek and his 1975 Lamborghini Urraco have a relationship forged in heartache. He bought the car on a whim in 1987 and had barely driven it when the timing belt snapped thanks to a bad previous engine rebuild. With the interior already a wreck, Ondrusek set off on a restoration that would take years to get the Lamborghini back together.
All of that time arm-deep in the car's mechanicals has turned Ondrusek into a pretty persnickety owner. Passengers have to remove their shoes before getting in, and he has a mat to protect the carpet on the driver's side. However, despite his fastidious temperament, this Urraco isn't a garage queen and gets driven often.
Ondrusek doesn't exactly make the Urraco sound like an unmitigated joy behind the wheel, either. The seating position forces the driver to sit at an angle, and with no power brakes or power steering, the wedge-shaped coupe is not exactly easy to handle at low speeds. Still, all that time fixing the car has clearly created a strong bond behind man and machine, and we think the wedgy, underappreciated mid-Seventies Marcello Gandini design has held up well. Lamborghini driver revs while Aventador bursts into flames [UPDATE]

UPDATE: The Aventador obviously has a V12, not a V10. It has been corrected below. Listening to an Italian V10 V12 screaming at the limit is one of the true joys of the automotive hobby, especially with the visual accompaniment of little licks of flame are shooting out of the exhaust. There's a time and a place for such an aggressive mechanical display, though. This Aventador owner in Dubai hopefully learned his lesson about being too exuberant with the throttle while stationary after his Lamborghini went up in flames. Several bystanders yelled out warnings, but the driver must have been partially deaf from revving the V10 V12 a little too often. The guy just drove off with flames eating up an increasing amount of the Aventador's rear. He didn't get too far though before the little blaze turned into a full-blown conflagration. While this was an expensive mistake, but the driver reportedly wasn't injured, according to The Telegraph.
