RARE 1997 1/2 LAMBORGHINI DIABLO ROADSTER
I AM SELLING MY GORGEOUS LOW MILEAGE DIABLO ROADSTER AS I HAVE ALREADY REPLACED IT WITH ANOTHER TOY. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE ODOMETER FOR ALL DIABLO 'S ROADSTERS PRIOR TO 1999 READ IN KILOMETERS. THE DIABLO ROADSTER MARKET IS GETTING READY TO TAKE OFF. PRICES HAVE RECENTLY BEEN ON THE RISE BASED ON RECENT MAJOR AUCTION RESULTS. THE DIABLO ROADSTER IS ONE OF THE MOST RARE SUPER CARS IN EXISTENCE AS THERE WERE APPROXIMATELY 450 DIABLO ROADSTERS EVER PRODUCED IN THE WORLD. OUT OF THOSE PRODUCED A VERY LIMITED NUMBER WERE SHIPPED TO THE STATES. THEY WERE PRODUCED IN 1997, 1997/1/2, 1998 AND 1999. THE 1997 1/2 WAS UPGRADED TO INCLUDE A PASSENGER AIR BAG. IT IS ONE OF THE MOST ICONIC ROADSTERS EVER BUILT WITH THE LEGENDARY POP UP HEADLIGHTS. THIS IS A VERY DESIRABLE FEATURE GIVING THE CAR A CLASSIC LOOK. THIS CAR DOES NOT GO UNNOTICED IN "FLY YELLOW". I AM VERY FASTIDIOUS SO I HAD SOME TOUCH UP RESTORATION DONE TO REPAIR COMMON PAINT CHIPS FROM NORMAL DRIVING AS IS PREVALENT WITH MOST OF THESE GROUND HUGGING HIGH END EXOTICS. THE CAR LOOKS FABULOUS!!. THERE IS ALSO A CLEAR BRA ON THE FRONT OF THE CAR AND SIDE MIRRORS. THE PREVIOUS OWNER ADDED SEVERAL UPGRADES TO THIS BULL INCLUDING UPGRADED HEADERS AND EXHAUST. THE DIABLO EXHAUST TONE IS ONE OF THE MOST DISTINCT AND VISCERAL SOUNDS OF ANY ITALIAN SPORTS CAR. THE UPGRADED EXHAUST ON THIS CAR EMPHASIZES IT EVEN THAT MUCH MORE. MY CAR HAS A CLEAN CAR FAX AND RUNS AND DRIVES AS IT SHOULD. IT HAS BEEN METICULOUSLY MAINTAINED AND CURRENTLY HAS A SMALL POWER STEERING LEAK THAT WILL BE CORRECTED BY AUTO CENTO IN ROCKVILLE MD BEFORE CAR IS PICKED UP. I DRIVE IT TO CARS AND COFFEE ON A WEEKLY BASIS AND IT HAS BEEN A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE. BID WITH CONFIDENCE AS YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. |

Novitec Torado takes a stab at improving the Lamborghini Aventador [w/video]
Sat, 06 Jul 2013Novitec has finished its tuning program for the Lamborghini Aventador, and it has called the mean-looking finished product, Torado. It looks like it wants to take the pedestrian sinisterness of the Aventador into an otherworldly rage, with carbon fiber vents, spoilers and protrusions lining the body from front to back.
Novitec says it's still good for daily use, even with four different stages of power tune and a fifth out-of-the-ballpark injection called "Bi-Kompressor." The power bumps start at 722 horsepower and 519 pound-feet and go up to 969 hp and 672 lb-ft with the bi-kompressor. The exhaust systems included in those packages are also good for shaving around 20 kilos from the car's weight.
There's a short press release below with more on Novitec's work, and a video of the Torado in the wind tunnel.
Watch a Lamborghini get torn apart by the Taiwanese government
Wed, Dec 14 2016We've all heard tales of the R34 Nissan Skyline GT-R that somehow made it to American roads with questionable registration, only to be confiscated and crushed by officials for being illegally imported. The United States isn't alone in strictly punishing regulation-skirting importers. Just ask the Taiwanese owner of this matte-black Lamborghini Murcielago, or what remains of this Murcielago after it was mauled by a industrial-strength claw. The description on the video gives no clues as to what specific import infraction this Murcielago violated. What's clear is that the government wanted to make an example of its owner, so rather than simply confiscating and crushing the car, they set up shop in the middle of a street, gathered a crowd, and set about tearing the car to bits. The video shows every bit of the destruction, which is at once both rushed and meticulous. The non-stop onslaught reaches every panel, leaving an open, matte-black and Italian tricolore husk. Hopefully the point was made and we won't have to watch anymore beautiful and innocent cars suffer the same fate. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. Details emerge on production-bound Lamborghini Sesto Elemento
Tue, 08 Jan 2013The last we heard about the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento, Lamborghini had confirmed its production with only 20 examples of the track-only car planned, but now we're finally starting to get some of the details about this knife-edged car. AutoVisie recently had the chance to talk to Maurizio Reggiani, Director of R&D at Lamborghini, who not only confirmed what will power the new car, he also said that the production version will carryover almost untouched from what we saw in concept form at the 2010 Paris Motor Show.
What we now know is that the Sesto Elemento will share the same powertrain as the Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera including the 570-horsepower V10 and the all-wheel-drive system, and it will be built at a new factory dedicated to building prototypes and limited-volume cars like this. Also, the report states a curb weight of 2,200 pounds, a top speed of 320 kilometers per hour (198 miles per hour) and a 0-100 kph (0-62) time of just 2.5 seconds. The only changes made to bring the concept to production were to increase the car's rigidity and its safety. This means the car will still feature all-carbon-fiber construction and unique bucket seats that are actually built into the car's body; driver adjustments coming from the steering wheel and pedals.
The estimated price for the Sesto Elemento is two million euros, or around $2.6 million US, and although the original production date was slated for early 2013, Motor Authority now says that we'll have to wait for another "year or two" to see this car in the wild. Also, it does not appear that this is the mystery car recently teased in a 50th anniversary video released by Lamborghini.
