I hate to let it go but up for sale is my Corey Davis 1999 Lamborghini Diablo Roadster replica. I saw a Corey Davis Roadster that recently sold on Ebay for $15,500 in similar state of completion and parts PLUS they wanted an additional $3,500 for extra Lamborghini parts. I’m offering mine for a much better price and including all the parts I have to go with the car. The car is located in Newark, DE.

Basics:

This is built on a combination of a tubular chassis with a Fiero tub. The previous owner stated that this was a Chassis Works chassis bought directly from the owner of Chassis Works in Nevada. The Corey Davis body was picked up from Florida. I have the title for the Fiero that was used.  The body has been mounted and the doors are hung. The doors open and close but still need some sanding to create a little bit more of a gap between the doors and the body. Electric door poppers have been installed. They are the largest door poppers you can get. Power window actuators have been installed as well so the car will have working power windows when completed. The glass has not yet been installed. The interior has been fitted but not yet mounted. The gauges have just been set in as well but the tachometer, fuel gauge and volt meter have been hooked up to monitor the car when running. I would recommend re-weld the windshield frame a little better and dropping the radiator frame down an inch or two so that the front hook will close. Here is a link to the build thread of the original builder:

Engine/Drivetrain:

It came with a 4.9 Cadillac V8 engine with an automatic 4t60E transmission. The car did not run when I bought it but I have been able to get it running and it will fire up every time. It runs strong and very responsive. When I added water and ran the car it never seemed to get hot or overheat but I did find that it appears that the water has started leaking into the engine oil so I believe the head gasket is bad. There is an additive that can be added into the coolant to help seal that up or the engine can be rebuilt or another engine can be picked up from a you-pull-it salvage yard for about $400. I can’t seem to get the transmission to get into gear so I don’t know what is up with that. I haven’t checked into it yet. I’m not a transmission guy so usually if they go bad I just change them rather than try and fix them. The local you-pull-it salvage yard near me sells them for about $350. The engine and transmission are very easy to work on and there is TONS of space to work around the drive train. There are conversions that can be done to put an LT1 engine on the 4t60E transmission if interested in that option. The possibilities are endless. I recently installed new axles, steel braided brake lines, BLACK vented and slotted rotors, calipers, metallic brake pads and polyurethane bushing in the rear. It also has adjustable coilover suspension with 450lbs springs in the rear which is why the car looks so low to the ground right now.

Extras:

There are TONS of parts to go with this car. I have most everything to finish the car. I’d say about 90% of the parts plus a lot of extra parts that can be kept on hand as extras or can be resold to make some of your money back. There are too many parts to list but I’ve got Diablo side glass (don’t have the windshield or back glass), Viper car alarm with remote doors, new 18” chrome rims, hinges, latches, gauges, steering wheel, TWO radios (1 is a radio DVD with back-up camera option-not included), amps, subs, boxes and speakers, Lamborghini badges, lights, and enough little parts to keep you busy for a while. The DVD radio is currently installed in my Fiero which I will uninstall at the time the auction ends.  I have a spreadsheet that I tried to maintain of a running parts list on hand. It doesn’t have every little nut and bolt but it has most everything else. There are a couple of fiberglass pieces missing. I don’t have the interior A-pillars or the piece that goes around the windshield. I’m also missing the inner pieces of the trunks. Nothing to vital to the completion of the car and can be created out of fiberglass or even wood. There are a lot of Lamborghini parts as well. I have the 6.0 tail lights but if you wanted the regular Diablo lights you could sell the 6.0 lights to make some money back to buy those. I can provide the parts list as well as a list I have of useful links to parts I planned on picking up or wanted as well as the prices. That should help save the buyer from having to try and figure out what parts are needed as well as figuring out where to find them.

Disclaimer-the wheels on the back DO NOT go with the car. Those are Chromadora rims for my MERA that I am using in place of the mock-up rims that came with the car. Two of the mock up rims had wheels and two didn’t so I just threw those on for now. The old rims will be put back on once the car is sold.

I have done a bit of mechanical work but I haven’t done much of the body work. I can answer any questions to the best of my knowledge and will provide all the receipts and paperwork that I have. My records are very detailed. There is over $20,000 invested in the car and over 2,000 hours of labor invested as well. This is a greatly discounted deal for anyone who dreamed about owning their own Lambo roadster.

Please ask any questions you may have PRIOR to bidding. These auctions cost money every time they have to be listed so please do your due diligence prior to bidding. I’m easy going and will do the best I can to answer any questions.  I am going the extra distance to post lots of pics as well as a video going over some of the car. I am your eyes and ears. Here is a YouTube video just posted:

Payment:

There is a $500 deposit due within 48 hours and the balance is due within 7 days. I will accept cash and PayPal. Credit cards can be used to pay the balance through PayPal. Other payment options that can be considered are personal unsecured loans if your credit is good or you can get a loan from your 401k. You can also bum it from your rich friend. Whatever option is used to pay for the car needs to be secured BEFORE the auction ends. I will make a sweet and rare Ebay deal to anyone who can pay in cash. PayPal charges a 2-3% fee for using their services so anyone who pays in cash and picks up the car I will offer a 1% discount off of the final selling price to anyone who shows up with all cash (aside from the initial deposit of course).

Pick up or Delivery:

Once the car is paid for the car can be picked up just about any time. I’d like to have the car picked up within 2 weeks of the end of the auction. I can be flexible if more time is needed to pick up the car as long as it was paid for prior. There are A LOT of parts in tubs and a few boxes. There are also a lot of loose fiberglass pieces so a pick-up truck and a four wheel car dolly would be recommended. I would be willing to deliver the car and the parts within 200 miles of my zip code (19702) for free ONLY if the buy-it-now feature is used. That would be something that would need to be discussed prior to the auction ending as I’m just a guy that can get my hands on a truck and will have to rent a 4 wheeled dolly. Having to back a car dolly down a complicated or narrow driveway doesn’t excite me much if you have one. I would also be willing to meet someone in the middle if they are coming from a distance of more than 200 miles.

Good luck and again, ask questions, prepare funds now so that you are ready to pay when the auction ends. Buyer who fails to follow through will be reported to Ebay and given negative feedback. Anyone with 0 feedback or excessive negative feedback (less than 80%) needs to contact me prior to bidding.

Lamborghini Aventador SV Roadster confirmed

Mon, Jun 29 2015

At the Goodwood Festival of Speed over the weekend, Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann confirmed the arrival of the Aventador LP750-4 Superveloce Roadster. The news puts a bow on a gift we already expected, having seen the superfast roadster gussied up like a Swedish rally car during testing in the Arctic. Assuming you're tall enough to ride the ride, you'll get 740-horsepower from its 6.5-liter V12 in a body that's lighter by 110 pounds versus the more mundane (we use that term loosely, of course) LP 700-4. Production will be limited to 500 units, undercutting production of the Superveloce coupe by 100 units, and the dealer order lines have officially opened. Speaking of which, all 600 coupes have already been sold, each one listing at $493,095. The roadster will surely be more dear. The press release below has the official words from the man himself. Goodwood Festival of Speed: Lamborghini confirms Roadster version of Aventador Superveloce Sant'Agata Bolognese/Goodwood, 29 June 2015 – Automobili Lamborghini has announced a roadster version of its Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce. The roadster will be limited to 500 units. The Aventador Superveloce coupe version made its UK debut at Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend, on display and running 'up the hill', with Lamborghini President and CEO Stephan Winkelmann in attendance. Speaking at Goodwood, Stephan Winkelmann confirmed production of the Superveloce Roadster. "The Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce is the most pure, sports-oriented and emotional incarnation of a Lamborghini, and all 600 units have been sold, with first deliveries starting now. We will also produce a roadster version, which our dealers worldwide are now taking orders for." The Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce was shown at Geneva motor show earlier this year. The Superveloce accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 2.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of more than 325 km/h (217 mph). Compared to the Aventador LP 700-4 the power output of the Superveloce has been increased by 50 hp and the weight reduced by 50 kg. Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. Founded in 1963, Automobili Lamborghini is headquartered in Sant'Agata Bolognese, in North-eastern Italy. The Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4, which made its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show in 2014, is the successor to the iconic Gallardo and, with its innovative technology and exceptional performance, it redefines the driving experience of luxury super sports cars.

"And this Lamborghini has the updated technology you'll need to keep a previously raw and sometimes frightening driving experience to a pure, unadulterated thrill."
