This vehicle is in excellent running condition. The clutch feels strong, and the motor is solid. There are no leaks from the motor and transmission. The engine does not burn oil, and gas consumption is as if were new. It gets around 27 mpg on the highway. Around 23 to 25 on the streets. There are no "check engine" or "service engine" lights on. So overall, this little car is fine mechanically. Brakes work great, though there is some squeaking. Tires are good, too. Theres about 85 percent of tread of life for the front wheels, and about 55 percent of tread for the rear. There is a spare with tools in the truck. The overall body of the car has many little scratches and tiny dents. From what I understand, this vehicle has never been in a accident, though I do recommend getting a history report. From a far and at night, it looks great, but up close it's very noticeable that the car has probably been bumped by some shopping carts in its lifetime. It's not perfect, but it's not that bad either. The interior is in good shape though there are some minor issues. The seats have some cigarette burns from the previous owner (THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN OZONE CLEANED SINCE) but does not have any cigarette odors. Seats covers can easily fix this. The passenger side door handle is broke, though it does work. I would recommend fixing it, so that will be the responsibility of the new owner. The door opens just fine from the outside. Another issue with the interior is the CD player. It is the original player which has a tough time ejecting the CDs out. It takes it just fine, but ejection can be annoying. Overall I would rate the interior good. Keep in mind, it is a 10 year old car. This vehicle is not power everything. It does have power steering and power brakes, but thats it. No power windows, no power door locks etc.

Overall I would rate this vehicle a 8 out of 10.

Pros: Runs Great!
Cold A/C
Great MPG
Fun to drive
No Rust!
Cons:
Not fully loaded with options
Parking Brake does not work
Numerous little scratches and small dings (its a beater)

Kia's second Super Bowl commercial lets booth professionals have their revenge

Fri, 01 Feb 2013

This is more like it, Kia. After last year's highly successful Adriana Lima-infused Super Bowl commercial for the Optima, we weren't that impressed with this year's Super Bowl ad for the new Sorento called Space Babies that Kia showed us earlier in the week. Its second spot for this year's big game, however, gave us a chuckle.
Called Hotbots and starring Miss USA Alyssa Campanella as a futuristic robot, the ad plays out a fantasy that we know for certain has crossed the minds of many booth professionals. These are the attractive set of women and men who plant themselves next to new cars at auto shows. More than just eye candy, they're usually extremely well educated on the product's specs and features. Despite that fact, they have to put up with constant oogling and questions like, "Do you come with the car?" What this T-1000 won't put up with is fingerprints on her shiny new 2014 Kia Forte, and she does something about it. Watch for yourself below.

Melissa McCarthy sent fleeing in the Kia Niro Super Bowl teaser

Tue, Jan 24 2017

The Super Bowl is drawing near and with it comes a cavalcade of over-the-top and outrageously expensive mid-game ads. The cult of the commercial has grown so large that 60-second ads are getting 15-second teasers. For Kia's eighth year at the Super Bowl, the Korean automaker will be promoting its new hybrid, the Niro. The company released a new trailer hyping its third-quarter ad slot. The teaser doesn't actually feature the Niro. Instead flag-waving actor Melissa McCarthy is shown screaming and fleeing across a field from some unknown assailant, presumably the Niro's rival, a Toyota Prius, done up like the War Rig from Mad Max Fury Road. Kia promises the game day commercial will trace "a heroic and harrowing journey stretching from the polar ice caps to an arid desert" all while showing why the Niro is a new type of crossover. We really just want to know what's written on the flag. Related Video:

2019 Kia Stinger gets IIHS Top Safety Pick+ rating

Fri, May 24 2019

The 2019 Kia Stinger just officially received an IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award, which is the highest honor from the Insurance Institute. However, this award only applies to Stingers equipped with optional front crash prevention and specific headlights. All the crashworthiness ratings returned with a "Good" rating, and that applies to every version of the Stinger sold here. The forward collision avoidance assist with pedestrian detection is an option on the Stinger, and this combined with trims sporting LED headlight projectors results in the TSP+ rating. In IIHS forward collision tests, the Stinger successfully avoided collisions at 12 mph and 25 mph. The base halogen projector headlights were rated "Poor," so watch out for those while Stinger shopping. Interestingly, the IIHS rated the static LED projectors as "Good" and the curve-adaptive LED projectors got lower marks as "Acceptable." For reference, the curve-adaptive LEDs are found on the Stinger GT2 trim. The IIHS just thinks the visibility with the adaptive LEDs is worse compared to the static units. We can't say we're surprised that the Stinger received the TSP+ award, as it shares a modified platform with the Genesis G70 that received the same rating from the IIHS. The new sport sedan and sportback from Genesis and Kia clearly crash well. That's always heartening to hear, especially as we continue with the long-term test of our Kia Stinger GT. We love the red bullet of a hatchback, and most recently compared it to a Genesis G70 with the same powertrain.
