Hello Fellow Ebay'ers.  You are bidding on a Canadian KIA Rondo EXV6 with 3rd row seating, tinted windows, and custom remote starter with nice range.  The car currently has 95,187km on it, and we have had this vehicle since it was brand new.  This vehicle has been well maintained inside and out through both maintenance (oil changes, etc) as well as through detailing (washing, waxing, etc) .  This car also has a decent set of relatively new all season tires, which have been on the car for less than 16,000km.   I would consider the car to be it in very nice condition with the exception of normal wear and tear (light scratches / small paint chips on hood from gravel) and the following noted items: Some scuffs on the driver side rear and passenger side front rims, A large scratch / small dent on the passenger side front door near the window, small chip in the windshield that has been there since the 1st month we owned the vehicle while driving from Edmonton to Calgary, and missing plastic section under the bumper.  I have taken pictures of all of the above and can provide greater detail if needed.  Mechanicaly, the car drives soundly with solid engine and transmission performance with no known defects.  The interior of the car is also in really great shape, but again, it is because we have had the car detailed several times with interior shampoo, Armor all, etc.  This car is under the standard KIA Canada warranty for 160,000km, so there is about 65,000km remaining.  All in all, this has been a very good car for us and our family,  but we just got to the point where we needed a larger vehicle.  If it wasnt for that, we would be keeping this car for years to come.  The vehicle is being sold "as-is" with no warranty from the Seller (me).  In terms of transportation, the Buyer will be responsible for the arrangement and payment of any transportation from Vancover, BC.  If you have any questions and/or comments about the vehicle, I would most gladly answer them upon your inquiry.  If you would like additional pictures, I will provide them for you as well.  Again, this has been a really great car for us.  The person who wins this Auction will be getting a real solid vehicle.  Good Luck Bidders!

South Korea firms up fuel economy regs following Hyundai/Kia debacle

Tue, 30 Apr 2013

According to a report from Reuters, South Korea's government has drafted strict new rules for automakers to follow when calculating fuel economy. The legislation comes after a major snafu by Hyundai and Kia that resulted in the automakers lowering the estimated fuel mileage of many popular models - some by several miles per gallon, including the Soul subcompact above - and compensating owners in the US and Canada for the reduction.
The new fuel economy rules were announced by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy in South Korea and will see average mileage ratings drop by roughly three to five percent, according to the report. In addition, manufacturers found guilty of overstating mileage figures will be liable for fines of up to $900,000.
These sweeping new regulations will go into effect in the second half of 2013 and, while they won't have any effect on EPA estimates for Hyundai and Kia vehicles in the United States, they are expected to result in new ratings for the two automakers in their home market of South Korea, where they enjoy a whopping 70-percent market share.

Kia Sedona and Hyundai Tucson recalled for hood latches

Tue, Jun 14 2016

The Basics: Hyundai and is Kia division have issued two recall notices, both for similar issues. The larger of the two affects 219,800 units of the 2006-2014 Kia Sedona minivan built between June 15, 2005, and April 04, 2014. The second relates to 81,000 examples of the 2016 Tucson crossover manufactured from May 19, 2015, to March 14, 2016. The Problem: In both cases, the secondary hood latch may not properly secure the hood in place and keep it from opening while under way. Injuries/Deaths: None reported. The fix: Dealers will replace the secondary hood latch, or in the Sedona's case, maybe just clean and lubricate the latch, as needed. Both campaigns are set to begin next month. If you own one: Make sure you don't accidentally release the primary hood latch while driving or the secondary latch may not do its job. CONSEQUENCE: If the primary latch is inadvertently released and the secondary latch is not engaged, the hood could unexpectedly open while driving, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash. REMEDY: Kia will notify owners and dealers will replace the secondary hood latch or clean and lubricate the latch, depending on the vehicle's location and the condition of the latch. These repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on July 25, 2016. Owners may contact Kia at 1-800-333-4542. Kia's recall number is SC134. Feds investigating Kia Sorento over shattered sunroofs

Sun, 27 Oct 2013

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened an investigation into 64,000 Kia Sorento crossovers due to complaints from owners that the sunroof can shatter unexpectedly. This probe affects Sorento models from the 2011, 2012 and 2013 model years.
According to The Detroit News, NHTSA has received 15 complaints from Sorento owners citing sunroofs that shattered, 13 of which reportedly happened while the vehicle was in motion. No crashes have been reported from this problem, but one complaint did cite minor injuries - cuts from the shattered glass.
The automaker told The Detroit News that it "has been evaluating the performance of its panoramic sunroof as part of ongoing vehicle monitoring activities conducted as a standard practice on all Kia models." Kia's corporate cousin, Hyundai, recently had similar sunroof problems with its Veloster hatchback.
