Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon Sport Utility 4-Do, US $13,000.00, image 1

As the vehicle is also for sale locally, I reserve the right to end this auction early to fulfill local seller rights. For Sale is my Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. It has a lot done with it, listed below. I bought this Jeep brand new from a dealer in March of 2014. It will be rolling toward 16,500 miles and is my daily driver. My plan was to offroad a lot, but I am never home and always traveling. Between now and September I will be buying/building a home, and getting married. This thing is getting in the way of me saving money, as you will see below... Here is a list of mods, and I will probably miss some of them. They are in order of installation on vehicle. I will add as I remember... I know a lot of people talk about how much they have into their builds, and there are a lot of Jeeps out there for $60,000 plus. I will say that I got this for $37,550, and have about $12,282 into it (This is just parts - Not Install or shipping Costs). I do not know if $39,800 is a good price, but based on the others on the web for much more (And you get less) figured it may be a good starting point. -Rugged Ridge All Weather Custom Fit Floor Liners front and Rear ($130) -ORFAB Rear Bumper with D-Rings ($330) -3.5" Rock Krawler Lift ($1309) -Old Man Emu Shocks ($370) -JCR Dagger Stubby Front Bumper And Customer Powder Coat ($481 + $200) -SuperWinch 9.5 EPI with 80 ft Synthetic Winch Line ($1095) -Factor 55 Front WInch Link ($150) -Rear Tire Carrier Delete Poison Spider with Custom 3rd brake light install and UFO's removal of wire, and rerun into rear door ($110) -50" Seward Offroad LED Light Bar ($500) -Rough Country LED light bar brackets ($130) -Custom made Front Drive Shaft for lift ($500) -Pixal Decals 10th anniversary Rubicon hood Decals ($30) -Debadged all Emblems but front grill ($0) -Pioneer Competition CD/MP3 with Handsfree Bluetooth ($350) -JL Audio Front Component Speakers ($120) -Alpine Rear component speakers (Installed in sound bar) ($90) -JL Audio 10w7 sub with JL Audio HO Box ($1100) -Cobra In Dash CB Radio ($90) -Tuffy Products security hood latch cover (No way to access under hood without a key) ($40) -Tuffy products rear cargo security cover (No way to steal the stereo, subs, or amp without breaking window and opening door, thus setting off alarm) ($330) -HiLift Jack (48") ($70) -Dominion Offroad and Ace Engineering mounts for Hi Lift Jack (Hood or cargo mount available) ($80) - 37 X 12.50 X 17 Goodyear Wrangler MTR/K Tires ($1570) -Level 8 Pro BullDog Wheels ($872) -Aries Offroad Aluminum Fender Flares With Flat Black PowderCoating -Note they were just put on, not all pictures show them ($750 +$160) -Hot Headliners Interior Sound Deadener for Top and sides ($500) -JW Speaker 8700 Evolution 2 Headlights With Anti-Flicker Harness -Brand New ($825) The wheels and tires were put on around 11,000 Miles. The car has seen synthetic at 786 Miles, and has had 4 more Oil changes since. I have been using a Chrysler MS-6395 approved synthetic oil since the OEM break in oil was drained. The miles are about 70% highway, 30% city. ****There is one known issue with the Jeep. When I installed the component speakers into the sound bar, and then ran the Antenna wire through the roll cage, I did not shield the antenna wire. The crossover and component speakers are interfering with the CB, and needs shielded with some foil. I was planning on doing this when it warmed up, as it needs the top pulled off. Too cold still, and haven't gotten around to it.

NHTSA still mulling crash tests for recalled Jeeps

Thu, 15 Aug 2013

Well, no one should ever accuse the government of not giving things plenty of thought. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is still debating whether it will retest any of the 1.56 million 1992 to 1998 Grand Cherokees and 2002 to 2007 Libertys that were part of a recall regarding fires after rear-end collisions. And yes, this debate has been going on for over a month. In other news...
The recall dustup started in early June, when Chrysler took the unusual position of refusing a recall request from NHTSA regarding placement of the fuel tank on the effected vehicles. NHTSA said a collision could cause a fire, a position Chrysler took issue with. Extensive negotiations ensued, with Chrysler agreeing to fit certain Jeeps with trailer hitches, which it said would provide some protection to fuel tanks mounted behind the rear axle in the event of a collision.
Part of the issue rests with the amount of data that needs to be processed, according to The Detroit News. NHTSA administrator David Strickland said during a Washington Auto Press Association meeting, "There's a lot of data and Chrysler is being very cooperative in giving us more data." Until that information has been sorted, it looks like re-testing will still be up for debate.

Airbag fault on 1M recalled Jeeps getting second look from NHTSA [UPDATE]

Mon, 02 Jun 2014

UPDATE: Here is the statement we received from Chrysler regarding NHTSA's query: "Chrysler Group LLC advised the National Highway Traffic Administration of the six reports and, in accordance with the Company's long-standing practice, is cooperating fully with the resulting investigation. Customer safety is paramount at Chrysler Group. Customers who are concerned may call 1-800-853-1403."
It appears that Jeep's repairs for nearly one million Grand Cherokees from 2002-2004 and Liberty models from 2002-2003 might not be over yet. The vehicles were first recalled in November 2012 because the front airbags could suddenly deploy without being in an accident. Now, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is opening a recall query into them because of reports of inadvertent activation on some already corrected vehicles.
The original problem affected over 919,000 vehicles worldwide, including 744,822 in the US, and was caused by a degrading circuit in the wires that control the airbags. In some cases the airbag warning light would come on just before the premature activation, but in other cases it would just happen. The automaker installed an "in-line jumper harness with an integrated electrical filter" meant to eliminate the power spikes believed to be the cause.

Blake Anderson drives an over-the-top patriotic Jeep

Thu, Jan 15 2015

Comedian Blake Anderson is seeing growing success as one of the stars and co-creators of the Comedy Central show Workaholics. Not surprisingly, when you get your own TV show, there's a deep desire to celebrate with a big purchase, a car perhaps. Anderson did just that, but as opposed to plunking his money down on a Porsche or Mercedes-Benz, he took a much more patriotic route. Anderson described his ride as "an American Jeep" in an interview with Conan O'Brien, and he didn't mean that it was from the AMC years of the off-road brand's ownership. Instead, this one is as patriotic as they come thanks to a beautifully regal bald eagle covering the hood with the nation's flag as the background running up at least to the windshield. Hear Anderson's entire story of buying this red, white and blue off-roader in the video above.
