Jeep: Wrangler Sport on 2040-cars
Davenport, Florida, United States
A Jeep Rubicon Hard Rock addition cost $37,000 plus. You can own the same Jeep seen here in a Sport edition for thousands less. Am the second owner of this Wrangler. I was given the original window sticker, 2 keys and owners manual. The 1st owner always used Mobil 1 synthetic and so have I. I recently replaced the clock spring (common issue with Jeeps 2007 up) I added the Hard Rock Front and Rear bumpers, Rims and Power dome hood. I have kept this Wrangler all MOPAR equipment with slush mats, hood lock, door sills, locking gas cap, front and rear grip handles and gas hood props. Ive also invested the top of the line LED J W Speaker tail lamps, fog lamps and head lamps. Also upgraded is the stock sound system with 4 Kicker speakers. 2 in front and 2 in sound bar. The windows have been professionally tinted as you can see in the pictures. I dont smoke nor has anyone else in this Jeep. Wrangler comes with jack and tools neatly tucked away in back storage compartment. Also has the Freedom top storage bag and rear Jeep mat. This is the only 2012 Sahara Tan Jeep with all the Hard Rock accessories added (minus the rock rails) that I know of. The Sahara Tan color was only made for 4 in months 2012, So this is a rare color to have much less sporting the Hard Rock accessories. You will not be disappointed ! Clean title in hand.

Jeep Wrangler gets the wide-track treatment
Mon, 07 Jan 2013When we read the tip about a Gulf-state diplomat in Rabat, Morocco who had supposedly "merged two Jeep Wranglers," we figured the two off-roaders were somehow linked front-to-back. Oh no. As you can see in the image above, taken from video of that vehicle actually traveling down the road and needing more than one lane to do it, the two Jeeps were put together side-by-side.
The seriously widebody truck is said to have six wheels, one at each corner and two in the middle. That's about all anyone seems to know about it at the moment, and that's probably enough - in these situations you know better than to ask why, just watch the video below.
NHTSA investigating power modules on Chrysler Group SUVs and minivans
Mon, 29 Sep 2014The Center for Auto Safety is officially petitioning the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to begin scrutinizing alleged problems with the totally integrated power module (TIPM) on about 24 Chrysler Group SUVs and minivans. The advocacy group claims that the part's failure can cause affected vehicles to stall or not start at all. NHTSA is still looking into the accusations and deciding whether a full investigation is actually warranted.
The CAS petition claims at least 70 TIPM failures, but according to NHTSA, six of the complaints are for models that don't have the modules. In 34 of the reported cases, the vehicles refused to start, and in 17 of them the engine stalled. There were also two allegations of smoke and one of a fire. However, none of these affected airbag deployment or resulted in a crash.
This petition isn't the first TIPM-related problem for Chrysler Group. A recent report in the New York Times alleged that it found 240 complaints potentially related to the issue on NHTSA's website alone. In September, the automaker also recalled 230,760 examples worldwide (188,723 in the US) of the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango replace the fuel pump relay circuit inside of the TIPM-7 with one external to the unit. The original part could allegedly cause the models to stall without warning. Even earlier, the company also recalled about 80,000 examples of the Jeep Wrangler and Dodge Nitro in 2007 to have the module reprogrammed.
Jeep Wrangler Polar is a tasty frozen treat
Wed, 11 Sep 2013Perhaps it's because we've seen so many kitted-out examples over the years, but it seems to us that the Jeep Wrangler tends to wear its special-edition duds better than most models. It might be the icon's familiar rectilinear proportions or the inherent bolt-on look of its extremities - bumpers, mirrors, lighting, and step rails - but we've seen precious few factory specials that look anything but excellent.
Case in point: this new Jeep Wrangler Polar unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show. This European-market limited-edition model is said to be a celebration of winter driving, which evidently works out to a body-color hardtop, black-accent seven-slot grille, 18-inch gloss black wheels, Trac-Lok limited-slip differential and a hard hat for the spare tire. Finished here in Hydro Blue (Billet Silver Metallic and Bright White are also available) and a black interior with Polar White accents, the Polar edition features badges displaying 78° S and 106° E longitude and latitude coordinates for Vostok, Antarctica.
This new Jeep will be available in both standard and Unlimited formats with either the 3.6-liter Pentastar gas engine or the still-not-for-US 2.8-liter turbodiesel when it bows early next year. For further details, check out our gallery above and the press release below.
