This is an American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) Brute Pickup, based on a 2002 Jeep Wrangler. This is a central/west Texas build, and has not been on the coast or on salted roads, so rust isn't an issue with this truck. The original build was an investment of nearly $40,000, and the it was done in the Dallas area. The reserve price is reasonable! If you are familiar with the AEV Brute Kit, including the Hi-line Kit, then you understand how comprehensive and detailed this build was. The exact color is Nissan 2003 Camouflage Green. Gearing is 3.07, rear axle is a Dana 35C and the front is a Dana 30, all original. The wheels are 15x8 American Racing Chambers, 3.75 backspacing, with nearly new condition Dunlop 32x11.5 Mud Rover tires, including a spare tire in matching condition (no wheel). It does leave a drip on the floor periodically, from the rear main seal. The frame is clean, motor runs great, AC cools immediately, CD player works, cruise works, gearing is just fine with the manual and the 32 inch tires and the paint is in great shape - it's a sweet little truck. Interior floor and bed are coated with bedliner, front end has the Jeep Mopar bumper and the matching style AEV rear bumper. New Old Man Emu NitroCharger shocks and new seatbelts. This truck is ready to take to Sonic for Cruise Night or to MOAB to do some exploring....or to the shop for bigger mods if you choose, but it's ready to put to work just as it is! We never wheeled it - just hauled a few grandkids and drove it to town and back. This Brute draws a crowd everywhere it goes, it brings a smile to the faces of guys and gals alike and creates a stir everytime it's out and about. The only reason we are selling it is to get something with a back seat for more grandkids to ride with us.

Least reliable cars and trucks of 2022
Tue, Nov 15 2022Related: Most reliable cars and trucks of 2022 Â Every year, Consumer Reports ranks new cars based on their predicted reliability. We often see Toyota, Lexus, and a few other automakers near the top. But on the other side of the coin, the list of least reliable vehicles sometimes contains surprises. Â The organization surveys its members to determine the vehicles that exhibited the most problems over the prior year. Owners are asked about creaks and rattles, the durability of parts and trim, and mechanical issues. Consumer Reports assigns a weight to each problem and then uses them to create a score, with 100 being the best. Some familiar names appear on the list of least reliable vehicles (in order with the lowest predicted reliability score at the top), but there are a few eyebrow-raising models, followed by CR's score: Ford F-150 Hybrid: 4 Hyundai Kona Electric: 5 Lincoln Aviator: 8 Nissan Sentra: 9 Ford Explorer: 16 Chevrolet Bolt: 17 Chevrolet Silverado 1500/GMC Sierra 1500: 19 Jeep Gladiator: 21 Mercedes-Benz GLE: 23 Jeep Wrangler: 24 Consumer Reports noted that sedans are the most reliable vehicle category and found that trucks are far lower on the list. That said, the survey showed that trucks from American brands tended to have better reliability scores, so it’s surprising to see GMÂ’s big two and the Ford F-150 on the list. Part of their problematic ownership experience could be due to the fact that all three trucks have received recent updates, and the Ford was completely redesigned for 2022. New tech, fresh drivetrain components, and other improvements can upset the balance of reliability and make newer models look less dependable than their older counterparts. Jeep Wrangler pickup's rear suspension is inspired by Ram
Thu, Dec 21 2017Although we've learned about all there is to know about the new Jeep Wrangler, there is still more to discover about its upcoming truck sibling, such as the rear suspension. We knew it would be coil-sprung, but these new spy shots also indicate that the suspension is more similar to what's under a Ram 1500 than the Wrangler SUV. In the gallery above, the first two images compare the rear suspension of a new-generation 2018 Wrangler (left) and the Wrangler pickup (right). Immediately obvious is that the shocks on the Wrangler SUV are mounted at the back of the axle, while the truck's shocks are mounted at the front. It's also possible to see that the anti-roll bar on the SUV is mounted quite high up, while the truck's bar sits much lower, near the base of the rear axle. The third image shows a Ram 1500 on the left and the Wrangler pickup on the right. Here we can see that the Ram shares the same sort of low-mounted anti-roll bars and forward-mounted shocks, along with a Panhard rod. The two aren't quite the same, though. For one thing, the Wrangler pickup's rear axle looks more like the Wrangler SUV's than the one on the Ram. It's possible that these suspension changes were made in an effort to boost the Wrangler truck's payload capabilities. It's also possible that there are some handling quirks to the long truck body style for which a Ram-style suspension was better suited. We'll look forward to learning more about the differences when the truck is revealed, likely in early 2019. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. Jeep Wrangler Polar is a tasty frozen treat
Wed, 11 Sep 2013Perhaps it's because we've seen so many kitted-out examples over the years, but it seems to us that the Jeep Wrangler tends to wear its special-edition duds better than most models. It might be the icon's familiar rectilinear proportions or the inherent bolt-on look of its extremities - bumpers, mirrors, lighting, and step rails - but we've seen precious few factory specials that look anything but excellent.
Case in point: this new Jeep Wrangler Polar unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show. This European-market limited-edition model is said to be a celebration of winter driving, which evidently works out to a body-color hardtop, black-accent seven-slot grille, 18-inch gloss black wheels, Trac-Lok limited-slip differential and a hard hat for the spare tire. Finished here in Hydro Blue (Billet Silver Metallic and Bright White are also available) and a black interior with Polar White accents, the Polar edition features badges displaying 78° S and 106° E longitude and latitude coordinates for Vostok, Antarctica.
This new Jeep will be available in both standard and Unlimited formats with either the 3.6-liter Pentastar gas engine or the still-not-for-US 2.8-liter turbodiesel when it bows early next year. For further details, check out our gallery above and the press release below.
