Here is my baby, I don't really want to sell her, but I am looking to get rid of some bills, and this is a big one. I haven't had a chance to take her off roading for two summers now, and I am not sure when I'll be able to do so, so it's time to let her go.

There are no mechanical or electrical problems, she is current on service and maintenance, and I have kept a log of such activities. I've always used Mobile 1 5w20 full synthetic and WIX or NAPA Gold filters. I have changed the differential fluid and transmission fluid already, and she got an oil change recently. I've never wrecked it, or broke anything, but I did hit a deer about a year ago, and thanks to the massive bumper, there was absolutely no damage done!

The Jeep has a tad over 31k miles, and I do currently drive it every other day, so it will go up slowly.

I have had some modifications done, and most are going on 2-3 years, so no worries about them. I used reputable shops and manufacturers and all mods add to the functionality of this beast, both on and off road. Here is a list of things altered/added/replaced:

ARB bumpers front and rear (turn signals were deleted for a nicer look and both were bedlined)

Warn 9.5cti-s winch, wired with 2/0 gauge cable, and Anderson quick disconnects (1/0 gauge jumper cables included for no hood lift jumping of other's vehicles)

Hella HID off road lights and KC back up lights

Cibie H4 headlights, wired through Hella waterproof relays (probably the best mod done)

AEV hood painted to match by local dealership

AEV snorkel, comes with ram air and pre filter

AEV 17" Pintler wheels wrapped in 35x12.50-17 Cooper Discoverer STT tires (lots of tread left)

Teraflex 2.5" coil spring suspension lift with Teraflex adjustable track bars, AEV control arm brackets, JKS steering dampener, and JKS track bar mounts

Katzkin heated leather seats (not covers, the fabric was replaced)

Poison Spyder rocker plates and custom, frame mounted, rock sliders (not ARB, just wanted them to match)

BenchMark Dual Battery kit, using the switch inside, you can self jump start

Superchips tuner, needed for calibrating speedometer, and can be used for diagnostics/tuning

Dominion Off Road rear tub enlargement kit (the rear cubby is twice as big now) with Tuffy security cover (and it's filled with ARB winch goodies, like a snatch block and straps)

The drivetrain is stock. There are many more little mods, like the Homelink compass/temp mirror, but I'm not sure if they're all worth mentioning. The stereo has been upgraded, but the subwoofer is missing. There are RCA's and power cables ran, so you will need an amp and sub, if you choose to add one. The front speakers were replaced with quality componants, and are ran off of a Kenwood amplifier. It gets plenty loud. All of the wiring was done using Weatherpack connectors, just like Jeep does it, and custom switches and a fuse/relay block were used. I recently removed the custom, swing out rear tire carrier, and will include it, and the spare tire, but it will need to be welded back on. I do not know of any dents, dings, or scratches on her, but the inside of the tailgate does have some screw holes in it, from a previously installed subwoofer box.

Well, I can't think of much more to add, so ask any questions you may have. I have it for sale locally, for $28,000, and would like to get that out of it. KBB agrees that my price is right, but I will entertain reasonable offers. I have spent roughly $10,000 on these upgrades, and KBB lists it at $25,000 stock. I am also including a set of AEV rear corner guards, that will need to be painted, and LED tail lights. Like I said earlier, I don't really want to sell her, so I won't be giving it away. Thanks for looking and good luck finding your Jeep!

Chrysler recalling 644k more Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs over brakes

Wed, 02 Apr 2014

Early last month, we reported on Chrysler issuing a preemptive, proactive recall for about 25,000 units of the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango. The issue revolved around a brake system that wasn't causing any actual problems, but delivered an unsatisfactory brake feel, so Auburn Hills called in a good 25,000 of SUVs around the world, including 18,700 in the United States.
Now Chrysler, having apparently determined that the brake problem on its sport utes is actually much bigger than it initially realized, has drastically broadened the scope of the recall. As a result, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for precisely 655,354 examples of the Grand Cherokee and Durango, covering the 2011 through 2014 model years. In addition, Chrysler is recalling 42,380 units in Canada, 21,376 in Mexico and 159,685 overseas.
The problem which Chrysler found revolves around the brake booster, whose center shell has been found to be subject to corrosion, allowing water to get into the brake system. That water in turn could freeze, preventing the brakes from working as well as expected.

Chinese Jeep production confirmed with Fiat, Guangzhou agreement

Wed, 21 Aug 2013

Fiat has just finalized a deal originally set up in January between it and China's Guangzhou Automotive Group to bring Jeep production to China. It remains unclear which models will be built, although we're wagering that it'll be the 2014 Cherokee. What we do know, now, is where production will take place.
According to Automotive News, Guangzhou originally wanted production to take place in its home assembly plant in its namesake city. Fiat has battled to send production to a joint venture facility established between Guangzhou and Fiat in the town of Changsha. The joint facility won out, and now the factory, originally built in 2010 with a 140,000-unit capacity, will see Jeeps rolling out of it.
Currently, the GAC-Fiat factory produces the Fiat Viaggio, a jointly developed product that is closely related to America's Dodge Dart. And while it remains unclear as to which model will join the Viaggio on the assembly line, that model is understood to ride on Fiat's Compact platform. The only Jeep to share those underpinnings is the new Cherokee, so there's not much connecting of dots needed to see why this scenario would make sense.

Jeep CEO a fan of pickup redux

Tue, Mar 10 2015

The idea of a Jeep pickup is a hardly a new concept. After all, putting a bed on the company's rugged off-roaders goes back to the '40s, not to mention the more recent Cherokee-based Comanche. There's a very slim chance that a truck could return to the lineup down the line if brand CEO Mike Manley gets his wish. "I remain a big fan of a Jeep pickup. I think we have history that says it belongs in our portfolio," Manley said to The Detroit News. However, there's no need to get any hopes up soon, because a truck doesn't get any mention in the brand's five-year plan. That puts the earliest possible introduction around 2019. Even Manley is tempering expectations. "At this moment and time, I have higher priorities. That doesn't mean to say that we don't work on it, we're not looking at it," he said to The Detroit News. The most likely candidate to support a future Jeep truck is the next-gen Wrangler, according to The News. The rest of FCA's pickups and SUVs are running at capacity, which makes slipping in another variant difficult. However, the future Wrangler is heavily rumored to get an expanded production facility in Toledo, OH, which could make things possible. Anonymous FCA insiders confirmed to Autoblog that the next-gen Wrangler would be offered with a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 and eight-speed automatic. It's also reportedly using solid axles at the front and rear, a fixed windshield and an aluminum body. That could make for a very fun and practical off-roader. If reading all of this speculation gives you a twinge of deja vu, it should. After the Jeep Gladiator concept (pictured above), there were years of speculation about the brand bringing the pickup back. Even then the plan was for a compact truck to tackle that hole in the segment. It was even believed that the project had a green light for production seemingly with Sergio Marchionne's blessing. Then things were pushed back, and last year, the idea was officially quashed. Related Video:
