Only 12,000 miles or so since the new Hemi engine was installed. 35,000 total miles. The Hemi is a Dodge Truck Hemi with VVT (variable valve timing), delivering 40 horsepower more than the standard HEMIs in regular conversions. With the aftermarket highflow exhaust, this HEMI generates around 400 horsepower! It is also a VVT HEMI, which means that four cylinders shut off on the freeway to conserve fuel. It was a top ten engine in 2009! Had zero miles on the HEMI when it was installed. The transmission is automatic and had 15,000 miles on it when I installed it. The swap was done by certified mechanics at TUNEX in Bountiful, Utah, and they are all Jeep enthusiasts and enjoyed doing the swap and would be happy to answer any questions about the swap. (Tunex Bountiful: Rob Ingram: ph. (801) 295-5551. This Jeep has MANY extras, including 4" lift with long-arms, 4.88 gears, custom rear bumper and tire mount and jack, custom front bumper and Smittybuilt Winch (8 ton) with remote, in addition to Black, 20" rims and 12.5" wide, 35" high all terrain mud tires in nearly new condition. No stains or tears in the seats. AC super cold. CD player works great. Premier sound system with seven speakers, including a large sub-woofer in the rear area. Extra fan installed in the engine to keep it all cool enough for idling and slow climbing.
The sound of this engine is AWESOME...it makes a throaty growl and gets a lot of compliments. Hard top just installed and is brand new. I will throw in the soft top as well.
The title is restored...I purchased this from Ed Smart, yes, Elizabeth Smart's father, two years ago. He said he was taking it off road and said his differential hit a bolder and it deployed the passenger airbag...his friend worked at a local dealership and replaced the airbag completely, but the title had to reflect "RESTORED" since the airbag deployed. Runs perfect and has been checked out by mechanics and is tip-top shape!
I am selling this because my daughter is going to be driving soon and we don't have room for the car we are going to get her. I already have a car and my wife has one and we are running out of room to park cars!!! And we won't let her drive this Jeep for obvious reasons!!! :)

Build a Jeep Gladiator 392 next? The Hummer H3T Alpha blazed the trail
Tue, Nov 17 2020The 2021 Wrangler Rubicon 392 will combine the go-anywhere capability of a Jeep's iconic off-roader with the grunt of a V8 for the first time in decades. As cool as that is, we can't help but think Jeep is missing out on a huge opportunity to pair that 470-horsepower, 6.4-liter Hemi V8 with the Wrangler's pickup cousin, the Jeep Gladiator, in the form of a Mojave 392. Autoblog took part in a media Q&A session with Jeep ahead of the Rubicon 392's announcement in which the company's product higher-ups said that there are currently no official plans to build a 392 variant of the Gladiator pickup. But whether or not Jeep has plans, it certainly has precedent, and from our perspective, a market. Rewind to 2008, better known as one of the worst possible years to introduce a gas-guzzling, V8-powered pickup truck. Enter the 2009 Hummer H3T Alpha, the first variant of Hummer's midsize truck/SUV hybrid to be offered with a 5.3-liter V8. The 300-horsepower small-block was an upgrade to the sturdy but relatively uninspiring 3.7-liter inline-5 that the H3 lineup had inherited from its midsize pickup platform mates. As our Jeremy Korzeniewski noted in the Rubicon 392's introductory piece, an open-top Jeep has not been offered with an optional V8 for as long as the "Wrangler" nameplate has existed. The last Jeep 4x4 to do so was still a CJ, or civilian Jeep, and the 304 cubic-inch engine came from American Motors Corporation. Incidentally, this generation of the Wrangler is also the first to be offered in a pickup variant. Cue the beard-stroking. Now, frankly, it's not even remotely fair to compare the H3T's powertrain offerings to the decade-newer Gladiator's, but the Hummer actually boasts a few advantages over Jeep's modern pickup. While most of the Jeep's off-road specs give it an edge, the Gladiator doesn't come close to the H3T's 30.1-degree departure angle, for instance. And in more practical terms, the stubbier H3T has other maneuverability advantages. The Gladiator has 3" of wheelbase and 5" of overall length on the H3T, and a 22.4-foot turning radius to show for it. The Hummer's? Just 18.5'.
Chrysler recalls 350k vehicles over ignition switches
Thu, 25 Sep 2014Chrysler has announced a recall covering 349,442 vehicles due to ignition switches that can either become stuck or move without warning. All of the affected vehicles are from the 2008 model year, and were built before May 12, 2008.
The automaker has learned that ignition keys on some vehicles "may not fully return to the 'ON' position after rotation to the 'START' position during engine-startup," the company said in a statement. Additionally, "an ignition key may not fully return to the 'ON' position after rotation to the 'START' position and may inadvertently move through the 'ON' position to 'ACCESSORY' or 'OFF.'"
Chrysler says it is unaware of any related injuries, and notes that while reduced braking, engine or steering power is possible in such instances, the airbags are not affected. The later stands in contrast to General Motors' recent rash of high-profile recalls, and it's an important distinction that Chrysler (understandably) felt necessary to call out in bold print in its press release.
2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel
Tue, 26 Feb 2013Choose Your Own Adventure... But Choose Wisely
Jeep has got you covered. We can say this without even having to know what it is you want, because there's hardly an option or configuration that you won't find in the 2014 Grand Cherokee. There are three different engines, three different four-wheel-drive systems (plus rear-wheel drive), four different trim levels - not counting SRT - two different suspension setups and five different settings for various off-road terrain conditions. If you happen to check the box for Quadra-Lift, you'll also have five different ride-height settings for the driver-selectable air suspension.
As you might expect with so many customization possibilities, the way a buyer checks the options sheet can have a profound effect on the final product and its capabilities, to say nothing of its price. Nowhere is that more true than with the Grand Cherokee's choice of engines, with the brand-new 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 stealing the spotlight from the still excellent gasoline-fueled 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 and 5.7-liter Hemi V8 powerplants that carry over from last year. No matter which engine you choose, though, it will be paired up with Jeep's new standard eight-speed automatic transmission from ZF. This, ladies and gentlemen, is very good news indeed.
