Here it is! A no expense spared, low mileage, 405 Horsepower HEMI Rubicon on Dynatrac Dana 60 axles. You WILL NOT find a better equipped JK for this price! If you think you have seen better for a similar price, ask yourself, does it have 2 air compressors, 2 Optima batteries, 2+ tops (hard, soft, bikini, safari), a hot water shower (heated by the engine in seconds), extra fuel storage, extra water storage, an adjustable on-the-fly exhaust, Dana 60s axles, heavy duty hydraulic steering, beadlock rims, true 360 degree lighting, a roll cage, security storage, and all the self-recovery gear anyone could need (winch, 60” hi-lift jack, ax, sledge, pick, shovel, rake, hoe, tire repair, snatch strap)
I have seen far too many dealers and private sellers swapping a HEMI into their little more than stock JK and selling it to unsuspecting buyers for the same price as what I am asking. Those little Dana 30/35 axles will not last long behind any HEMI. That stock steering doesn’t hold up well on basic JKs, so why would it hold up with a lift and larger rims/tires? That extra weight from the bumpers and accessories needs a stronger suspension and larger brakes to keep it safe on the road, where are those extras? Oh yeah, and the stock Rubicon axles (Dana 44) were built to go behind the original 202 horsepower JK engine, so how long will they hold up behind that 525 horsepower 6.4 HEMI the builder sunk all their money into just to turn around and sell it to you at a profit? Anyway, 405 horsepower is MORE than enough in the JK and you’ll say the same after you drive it. Yes, it is a 2 door, just as Jeeps have been since 1941 and it navigates trails better than a 4 door. It also seats 4 people just like a 4 door but does not have to carry around the added weight that a 4 door does.

Final Toledo Jeep decision may have nothing to do with city's efforts
Mon, Apr 13 2015Toledo, OH is doing all that it can to keep production of the Jeep Wrangler in its boundaries, but the biggest issue facing the plant may be insurmountable, no matter how desperately the city wants to keep the Wrangler local. The Wrangler is built in a rather interesting manner at the Toledo Supplier Park: Fiat Chrysler only handles the very final assembly of each vehicle, while two other companies, Kuka, a German firm, and Hyundai-Mobis, a member of the sprawling Hyundai empire, produce the body and chassis, respectively. The vehicles are then transferred over to the FCA part of the park, where they're painted and completed. This was, as The Detroit News explains, a convenient arrangement back in 2006 when the supplier park opened. Chrysler, which was still owned by Daimler at the time, arranged for Kuka and Mobis to handle production, saving it a huge sum of money. Both suppliers own their own machinery and buildings and employ their own workers. Now that FCA is a relatively healthy entity, though, there's not a lot of need to be sharing profits with two other companies. "What [FCA boss Sergio Marchionne] would like is to have the advantages of high-capacity utilization, owning that capacity and taking advantage of that for himself versus having a supplier doing some of the things his competitors do internally," David Cole, chairman emeritus at the Ann Arbor, MI-based Center for Automotive Research, told The News. "It really adds another level of complexity to the situation." While Sergio Marchionne is a man that generally gets what he wants, it seems unlikely that either Mobis or Kuka would give up their role quietly. According to Jon Zapf, Mobis North America's chairperson for UAW Local 12, the company "definitely wants to maintain their part of this production process." According to The News, Jeep is likely to announce the location of next-generation Wrangler production in June. Expect to hear much more on this one in the coming months.

NHTSA upgrading Jeep Grand Cherokee, Dodge Durango headliner fire probe
Wed, 15 Jan 2014The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation into headliner fires experienced by a small number of Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango owners has been upgraded to an engineering analysis, the step before the initiation of a recall. In August last year the investigation began with 146,000 Grand Cherokees from 2012 after three complaints were received, but a report on Edmunds says it has been expanded to include 593,299 vehicles covering the 2011-2013 model years for the Jeep and the Dodge Durango, which uses the same headliner assembly, because of possibly 52 incidents of fire.
In some of those incidents drivers have reported a burning odor, smoke or open flames that were contained to the headliner or migrated to another area of the passenger compartment. The culprit has apparently been found: NHTSA blaming an electrical short in the sun visor vanity light wiring, which is routed under the headliner and held in place by three screws. Chrysler began its own probe into the issue when it was first reported and is still looking into the situation while, "fully supporting the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's investigation."
