1998 Jeep Wrangler Tj , 4cyl , manual , 89k miles....This jeep runs and drives great , it has a ton of money into it and is ready to take your family on that ultimate vacation or off road excursion...The body on this jeep is rust free , it came from the southern states a couple years ago and was always garaged until the last 5 months..The frame is Rust free with no patch work or any funny business these jeeps are known for its really nice..When i got the jeep it was in great shape so i wanted to keep it that way , I used Sem rust-shield on the complete under carriage to keep it from rusting and keep it looking factory clean...I also under coated the body with the same stuff to protect it too....The inside of the tub didn't get forgotten either , it too is rust shield protected to keep water or anything else from rotting out this jeep..You could literally just pull the plugs on the floor and hose this jeep out if you wanted to..

My plans were to build the ultimate family weekend mobile, that we could take out and have a good time , see the country and just let the breeze blow through our hair...Well things change and i have to sell the jeep....
There is a ton of new and upgraded part's on this jeep....I know some people frown upon the little 4cyl motors but they are very capable engines with a couple of upgrades and very reliable to boot...
Here is what has been done to the jeep...

Motor has 89k miles
Jet performance chip
Air raid cold air induction
Air raid Billet throttle body spacer
Accel coil
Msd wires
Flex a lite electric fan
Hi output alternator

Brand new Mickey Thompson Baja Mtz tires Less then 100 miles ( 5 of them full size spare )
Brand new American Racing black wheels ( again 5 of them too )

Heavy gauge Locking steel center console with cup holders Built in ( security )
Heavy gauge Steel locking security glove box
Water proof seat covers

Plus more but that's the most i can think of off the top of my head...As you can tell there is a lot of money wrapped up in this jeep... I have put maybe a couple hundred miles on it since owning it , it just ended up sitting more then anything , its a shame really...It has not seen the woods or trails with me just sits at my shop, Not sure on the previous owners but its clean...There are a few scratches here and there like any used auto but presents itself really well ...It was built for fun , so taking it off road wouldn't hurt this little rig in any way unless you abuse it ,on road going to the mall or take off road to climb over a mountain if that's what you want to do with it..It's the beauty of owning a jeep...This one will get you there too...

The bad---- I don't have the upper soft door halves , there is no carpet in the jeep ( not bad to me i rust proofed the whole inside ) but a carpet set is cheap if you want one ,

The jeep starts up great , heater works , lights work , horn works ,wipers work , Brakes work great ,Emergency brake works good, Motor runs great , transmission shifts great ,goes down the road great (like a jeep) and is a super fun vehicle...No check engine lights....If you have never driven a lifted jeep with decent size tires they have a ride all their own , lets just say they are not cadillacs but they are not supposed to be either , they are jeeps and made to go anywhere any time and have fun doing it..You either are a jeep type person or you are not , its just the way it goes..

Awesome platform to take it to the next level and build your dream jeep  or just leave it as is and enjoy it!!

This is a cool little jeep!!Wish i could keep it and enjoy but i cant so here you go....

Vehicle is sold as-is , no warranty expressed or implied...I welcome inspections and my number will be at the bottom of this page if you wish to come see it in person...By bidding you are agreeing that you are satisfied with the condition of the vehicle and will abide by the conditions i set forth for payment etc....
Obviously if there are any major discrepancies i will not hold you liable , i try to very upfront about the condition of things because i know that is all the Buyer has to go on sometimes, i am human and small things might slip by me but i assure you there is no Major issues i have left out..
Please have your funding in order Before you bid...Do not bid if you can not pay for the vehicle....

Listed locally so i reserve the right to end the auction at any point in time , I will not end the auction if the reserve is met ....
Please don't ask me what the lowest i will take is , only bid what you can afford and think the vehicle is worth to you...

Thanks for looking have a great day...
Call or text 413-329-4622 to set up a time to come see the jeep...

I have painted the center console locking box since the pics the other day , It looks much better now..

Jeep pickup confirmed, will be built in Toledo

Tue, Jan 12 2016

Finally. In 2011 Jeep CEO Mike Manley said, "It is too late in Wrangler's product cycle to add a pickup. The 2015 or 2016 time frame makes more sense," when the next-generation Wrangler is due. A year later, Manley told an Australian outlet that a decision on a Jeep with a bed would come "pretty soon." Now, The Detroit News reports that the decision has been made, and it's a "Yes."A Wrangler-based truck is expected to arrive in 2017, sometime after the launch of the next Wrangler. And it'll be built in Toledo next to its sibling. Those desperate for a carry-all Wrangler have been able to buy Mopar's JK8 conversion kit for the past four years. Frankly, even though the Jeep Gladiator concept (pictured) is now 11 years old and the JT concept is nine years old, we think either one of them could roll off the line in a year and be welcomed with hosannas. This year's New York Auto Show will also be the site of the reveal of the compact SUV that will slot in between the Renegade and the Cherokee, built on the Renegade/Fiat 500X platform and replacing both the Compass and Patriot. Derided by many, in the US the two aging CUVs still sell terrifically well - they both hit records here last year. One of them will live on in name, the new SUV to be called either Compass or Patriot; the former name is bigger in international markets, the latter name gets more recognition here. That show is when we'll also get Fiat Chrysler's updated five-year plan that will take us through the presumed end of CEO Sergio Marchionne's tenure at FCA. Hendrick wants to put Jeep Wranglers back on the battlefield

Mon, Jan 25 2016

The Jeep Wrangler could be headed back to the battlefield. According to reports, negotiations are currently under way with the US Army to adapt the iconical American off-roader for military use. The Wranglers would serve as inexpensive, lightweight, unarmored vehicles that could be more easily airlifted into remote locations than costlier, heavier, and bulkier options. The proposal is not being fielded by the Jeep brand itself or its parent company Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, but by Hendrick Dynamics. The Charlotte-based offshoot of NASCAR racing team Hendrick Motorsports calls its modified Wrangler the Hendrick Commando. Instead of the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 found in most US-market Wranglers, the Commando version employs the 2.8-liter diesel four built by VM Motori, modified to run on any type of diesel fuel or on JP-8 jet fuel to maximize its deployment versatility and comply with the Army's Single Fuel mandate of 2012. It would also support a variety of modular attachments for specific jobs, ranging from machine gun mounts and counter-mine rakes to radar arrays and advanced communications equipment. Hendrick says the Commando could also be deployed by helicopter or in cargo planes. And because it's based on a civilian platform, the Commando would also benefit from the latest advancements introduced by its manufacturer, the parts and service network already in place, and the thorough testing that's already gone into developing the Wrangler for civilian use. Hendrick has reportedly built 14 prototypes to date, including the two-door Commando 2 (based on the standard Wrangler), the four-door Commando 4 (based on the Wrangler Unlimited), and even a pickup conversion called the Commando S. It is not, however, the only company adapting Jeep Wranglers for military application. Israel-based Automotive Industries Ltd has been producing successive versions of the Wrangler-based Storm for use by the Israel Defense Forces and other militaries overseas since 1990. If the US Army awards the contract for the Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) vehicle to Hendrick Dynamics, it would bring the iconic Jeep back to the battlefield where it got its start. The brand and its most prolific model trace their roots back to the Willys MB, launched in 1941 on contract from the US Army for deployment in World War II.

Side-X-Sides: The next Wrangler?

Wed, Feb 24 2016

The Jeep Wrangler has a huge following, but I've long thought that it is ripe for plucking. And if rumors of a neo-Bronco prove to be true, it sounds like Ford may agree. If a new Bronco does pan out, I hope it's small like the original Bronco, and not a huge F-150-based vehicle. To be a true Wrangler-fighter it has to be small and nimble. Here's another option How about developing a slightly larger, but street-legal version of the popular side-x-sides which are so popular with hunters, fishermen, farmers and anyone outdoors-oriented? This, to me, seems to be the next logical evolution of these side-x-sides. Currently side-x-sides have to be either trailered or stuffed into the back a of a pickup to wherever they're going to be used. Offering a street-legal off-roader solves that problem. There's no shortage of side-x-side makers out there. Any one of them could engineer and market such a vehicle, should they decide to. Plus there are plenty of dealer outlets, although Honda is the only one that currently sells cars, etc.; so they could have an edge in the selling and servicing aspects of such a vehicle. That said, I'm not sure Honda would want to sell such a vehicle in their car outlets. It may be better suited to their dealers that sell motorcycles, ATVs, watercraft, etc., as that outdoorsman type of customer already frequents those dealers. Then again, if the new Ridgeline proves popular, such a vehicle could offer something much more capable and sporting to that customer who is looking for something more extreme. The Wrangler has its fans, and they love it just as it stands. In fact Wrangler fans would reject any drastic engineering changes to their beloved off-roaders Side-x-sides, on the other hand, offer a completely different take on how to engineer a small but serious off-roader. Both are valid approaches. Currently the only thing missing are street-legal side-x-sides that go head-to-head against the Wrangler. Having more purchase options available is always a good thing; seems like a no-brainer to me. Image Credit: Honda Jeep Off-Road Vehicles open road
