The Sahara has some scratches and a few small dents on the hood, but no rust. The Jeep drives good with good oil pressure, plenty of power, but has a little lifter noise when 1st cranking. The A/C also has a small leak. It's blowing cold today, but tomorrow it may not be. It's a good solid good running Jeep and if you are looking for a 6 cylinder (which I definitely would), I don't think you can find another one in this price range."
1998 Jeep Wrangler Sahara, 4x4, 6 cylinder, 5 speed, Nice interior, A/C, Hard Top, Full hard doors, 4" lift, New Wild Country 32x11.50x15tires (less than 100 miles) $672, new Cat back exhaust system $290, new windshield $168, plugs & plug wires + engine compartment detail $400 & just serviced so it's ready to go. The Jeep runs strong with great oil pressure, doesn't smoke, shifts as it should and the 4 wheel drive works well in either hi or lo range. The not so good: It does have a few scratches and dings as you would expect from a 98 Jeep, but no rust! The A/C is working fine at the present, but has a leak that would need fixing before next summer. The motor has a lifter noise when it's cold, but I have had this checked and mechanically it's ok except for the noise. I'm trying to be truthful about the Jeep and I think the winner will be happy with the purchase. Watch this 650-hp Hennessey Jeep Grand Cherokee go from 0-60 in 3.9 seconds
Tue, 14 May 2013Hennessey Performance Engineering has created an HPE650 package for the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT fitted with the 6.4-liter Hemi engine. When it leaves the showroom floor it has 470 horsepower and gets from 0-60 miles per hour in 4.8 seconds. When it leaves Hennessey's garage floor after the upgrade it has 650 horsepower - 530 hp at the wheels, according to Hennessey - and gets to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds on its way to running the quarter-mile in 12.6 seconds.
There's more than just a Roots-type supercharger bolt-on, with ported cylinder heads and high-flow headers among the many changes made to the engine. You can watch this pre-2014 facelift silver model prove its spec sheet on the drag strip in the video below.
Fiesta-sized Jeep coming in 2014
Wed, 03 Jul 2013We've heard rumors before about a new, baby Jeep to slot below the new-for-2014 Cherokee (pictured) in the automaker's lineup. Now, Edmunds is reporting that the new crossover will arrive sometime in 2014, and will be about the same size as the Ford Fiesta. This currently unnamed vehicle will effectively replace both the Compass and Patriot in the Jeep lineup.
Speaking to Edmunds, Jeep CEO Mike Manley said that the new, small Jeep will be assembled in Italy and marketed globally beginning sometime next year. Manley did not provide many details on the new model, but did say that it will be 4.2-meters (165 inches) long. The Cherokee, by comparison, is 4.6-meters long (181 inches). Furthermore, Edmunds reports that while the new small Jeep will offer diesel power in other markets, there are no plans for an oil-burning version here in the US.
Many other automakers are exploring this smaller crossover segment here in the US. General Motors recently launched the Buick Encore, which is loosely based on the Chevrolet Sonic subcompact's platform. Ford has already launched its Fiesta-based EcoSport in other markets, and has reportedly been pondering the idea of offering it in the US, as well.

Wed, 28 May 2014This nine-year-old girl might be better at rock crawling than some people twice her age. But is it worth putting her in danger to do it? According to her father on the Jeep Experience Facebook page, her name is Faith, and she has been offroading with her family since she was two. At nine years old, she's now driving her dad's Jeep over the rocks by herself.
As you can see she's belted in and under her father's direct supervision and guidance. She shows immense confidence for someone her age and follows her dad's instructions on exactly what to do. Although, this could still be a very dangerous situation if something went wrong.
Previously, we saw a similar video with a six-year-old on a motorcycle driving on public roads through the desert. Voters decided by only a six-point margin that the adult should be in trouble for letting the kid ride the bike. Here, we have a slightly older child driving a vehicle off road.
