1995 Jeep Wrangler YJ SE, 4.0L I6, 5 spd. 143K. This is the powertrain combo most sought after. Why have a wimpy 4 cylinder when you can have a 6!  Recently rebuilt AX15 manual transmission, new clutch installed, runs good. 4wd system works just fine and engages like it should. Great brakes, heat (new heater core installed this month) all good. No A/C but who cares when you can take the top off! Starts fine. Recent oil change. Aluminum diamond plate accents. Acme hardtop (not the greatest fit but works). Full hard door. Flat tube front fenders. Recent Roughskin exterior paint job. Rusted sheet metal/front floor pans cut out and new steel has been welded in. The diamond plate IS NOT covering up rusted out metal.  Any rust in the tub sides was cut out and new steel welded in. Windshield is cracked (pass side) but does not obstruct driver view. All lights works. New media receiver radio. The jeep needs ball joints and front shocks (needs replaced before a long trip) . I have purchased them but haven't had time to install them. Will include new OEM quality ball joints and shocks with the purchase. Speedo not working since transmission work needs new gear. Has custom AR aluminum rims (missing one cap, available online) and matching set of BF Goodrich (11/32" tread left) on the 4 corners (15"s).  This Jeep is an SE edition.  Great trails, beaches, rocks, camping etc.  It does have some wear and tear/dents and dings. I love this Jeep but I have too many projects to finish this one out completely. Have clean title in hand.

NOTE: This vehicle is listed locally for sale.  I reserve the right to end the auction early if I get a good offer.  IF you have less than a 10 feedback, PLEASE email me prior to auction ending or I may reject your bid.  Too many scammers out there make it tough on all of us.  I want to sell this vehicle and make the deal smooth for both parties.  Vehicle is sold "as-is", where-is.  No warranty is expressed or implied. Payment is due in full within 7 days of auction end. I can store the Jeep for up to 30 days WITH PRIOR agreement and full payment. I also have a transport company that can deliver anywhere in the U.S. for a good price. Please do not bid if you don't plan on following through.  Payment is via CASH only. Paypal is only for deposit purposes.  Please no checks. I have a clear title in hand (mileage exempt). Ask any questions before end of auction.  Oh, and the Jeep was JUST washed in the photos so some of the gloss/color change is from that. Thanks.

Watch this 840-hp Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 walk away from GT-Rs and M3s

Thu, Dec 11 2014

This last-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 does things that SUVs just shouldn't be able to do, like win drag races against tuned Nissan GT-R and BMW M3 coupes. Granted, the owner isn't coming into this fight with a stock Jeep – far from it. In addition to twin turbos whistling away, he says the engine is a 449-cubic-inch V8, which is nearly 7.4 liters of displacement. As it runs here, the driver claims that the turbos are pumping out around 14 psi of boost to give an estimated 840 horsepower. What's more, he further maintains the powertrain could reach around 1,200 hp with things fully cranked up. Even somewhat dialed back, this Jeep is ready to take on a breadth of formidable challengers, including a couple of Chevrolet Corvette models and a Lamborghini Aventador. Check out the video to see how this menacing Grand Cherokee fares in a day at the races.

Jeep Wrangler likely to get aluminum body, will stay in Toledo

Mon, 27 Oct 2014

Perhaps more than any other vehicle currently for sale in the United States, the Jeep Wrangler is viewed by purist fans as a vehicle that simply must maintain the status quo. In this case, that means a body-on-frame design, solid axles, a relatively large engine sitting up front and a removable top. It's always been that way, and it always will be.
Maybe.
According to the most recent reports, the next-generation Jeep will continue to soldier forth with a full steel chassis underneath its stamped bodywork. The biggest change, reports Automotive News, will be that said panels will be hewn from aluminum instead of steel, a seismic shift of a transition not unlike what's happened with the new Ford F-150. Because it won't be a unibody, the SUV will likely continue to be assembled in Toledo, OH as it (almost) always has been - the latter has been a source of heartburn in recent weeks for the Northwestern city in the Buckeye State.

Top horsepower-per-dollar cars in 2017

Tue, Feb 17 2015

Bang for the buck. That quasi-scientific statistic is bandied about by motor heads everywhere from classrooms to barrooms, though the truth of the matter is that it's exceedingly complex to measure. A fair performance-per-dollar index would include something like cross-referencing MSRP (Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price) with point-to-point times on a track or driving route, which is obviously hard to do comprehensively. But, for the sheer joy of talking about cars and playing with a big spreadsheet, there's always the horsepower-per-dollar index, which is more straightforward, albeit hilariously flawed. There are vagaries even with this simple formula, of course: MSRP for vehicles can change at a moment's notice, to say nothing of the bottom-line shifting that happens with local deals or showroom negotiation. For this list we're running with the straight MSRP wherever possible, and as recently reported as we can get it. All the vehicles on this list are 2017 models, and all trims are reported where the lowest price and differing power levels intersect. Some choices were made for personal preference and some for sanity, avoiding things like all 48 trim levels of the Ford Transit, all with the same horsepower). If this list were a simple top ten, or even a top fifty, you'd be bored to tears with all the red, white and blue that is represented. Following perfectly with conventional wisdom, American cars really do lead the world where hp/$ is concerned. So, for the sake of variety (and the sheer joy of seeing a minivan 'win' one round of this thing) I've sorted out some top five and bottom five lists for broad power categories. Let's dive in. Less Than 100 Horsepower Okay, okay, this is hardly a category we'll grant you. But we've often tried to click off all the sub-100-hp cars on sale in the US, and making this list gave us an excuse. It also illustrates that none of these smallish vehicles bring cheap horsepower to the table - for that you'll need a motorcycle. The segment-leading Chevy Spark (above) asks just over $139 for each hp, and that Smart Fortwo Electric Drive has hp on sale for about the same price as its very distant family cousin, the Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG (insert your favorite Smart joke here... we know you want to).
