Up for sale at no reserve is my 1991 Jeep Wrangler. It has 161,500 miles and runs good. It has been my daily driver since 2007. I recently replaced the transmission 3,500 miles ago with a brand new NV-3550. It originally came with an AX-15 but I wanted to do the external slave swap so I replaced the transmission, clutch, master and slave cylinder. The mechanic that did the work used the wrong pilot bushing and it makes noise when you push in the clutch. It shifts and drives fine otherwise. The transfer case shifter doesn't bolt up to the NV-3550 so you have to use a TJ shifter or buy an adapter kit. It does not have the transfer case shifter installed. The steering system is a lot of play. It will need a front end rebuild, tie rods will need to bee replaced. There is play in the steering column, the lower bushing on the steering column is worn and there is movement in the steering wheel and shaft. I installed an Old Man Emu lift kit 2 years ago and replaced the shocks and leaf spring bushings all with Emu parts. I have a brand new Emu steering stabilizer new in the box uninstalled. The tires are 33" mud terrains but they will need to be replaced soon. The exhaust will need to be replaced. I replaced it 4 years ago with a Walker exhaust system and it did not last long. Fuel pump was replaced with a Bosch pump at 120,000 miles. Water pump was replaced at 157,000 with all new hoses. Radiator was replaced at around 150,000. Starter was done with the transmission. Valve cover gasket leaks. The fuel and temp gauge don't work. Body bushings look dry and need to be replaced. No rust in floorboards only surface rust. Rust started in the drivers side rocker panel under where it says Jeep and the passenger side door frame is rusting in the corner. Small rust hole in gas tank skid plate. It comes with a CJ hard top and a beat up grey soft top. I also have a best top bikini top that is included. All and all it is a 22 year old daily driven Jeep that needs work. This is a vehicle for the mechanically inclined. If you are not familiar with Jeeps and are not good with a wrench I would not bid on this Jeep. It is a beautiful Jeep and very solid for its age and being a North East Jeep. It is a very good start for jeep build. This is a no reserve auction..I will let you guys and girls decide what its worth. I will be updating this listing if I left anything out. Any questions or specific pictures just ask and I will post them up. Thanks and good luck.

2014 Jeep Cherokee: Long-term wrap-up [w/video]

Tue, Aug 11 2015

Sorry, Sweet Brown. Your place in Autoblog history as the most highly demanded long-term car has come to an end. We just finished a one-year test of a 2014 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk, and after 27,000 miles of hard use, one thing is very clear: this is one of the best all-rounders we've ever tested. The Jeep Cherokee isn't perfect, and our long-term tester proved that. But no compact crossover is. Still, the Trailhawk oozed personality where other small CUVs seem bland, and the Jeep felt more like a trusty companion than just another test car. For road trips, the requests weren't, "Can I have a long-term car this weekend?" They were specific: "I'd like the Cherokee, please." No matter the season, the driver, or the situation, the Jeep was always a sure fit. Fiat Chrysler bet big with this one. It had a global platform, a new engine, and one heck of a funny face. The end result was a CUV that we'd gladly welcome back into our fleet any day. View 51 Photos Our car carried a sticker price of $38,059, but that's without goodies like HID headlamps, a sunroof, or even full leather seats. Lots To Like Admittedly, we picked the Trailhawk trim for cosmetic reasons (more on it's off-road capability in a second). To this day, many of us still think the Cherokee is a homely little thing, but its inherent weirdness doesn't stand out as much when you add the black accents and big, knobby tires of the Trailhawk model. The butched-up look really works here, and we wouldn't have wanted the Jeep any other way. Of course, opting for Trailhawk package meant getting one of Jeep's more expensive Cherokees. Our car carried a sticker price of $38,059, but that's without goodies like HID headlamps (which we could have used – the halogens were pretty weak), a sunroof, or even full leather seats. This car genuinely felt premium, though. Right off the bat, the Cherokee received compliments for its comfortable, supportive seats, not to mention the high quality of interior materials and the general fit and finish. Specifically, the interior packaging won us over early on. We appreciated things like the higher-end stereo, smart layout of the center console, and ample storage, including a bin under the front passenger seat cushion. (That said, we also found that this bin becomes a catch-all for wrappers, french fries, and anything else that might get dropped on the seat.) The Uconnect infotainment system was a joy to use, never giving us any finicky problems or usability issues.

Next-gen Jeep Wrangler to pack 300-hp Hurricane turbo four

Mon, May 9 2016

Fiat Chrysler has been working for some time now on a new turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Dubbed "Hurricane," the engine is now said to produce nearly 300 horsepower. And its first application could be in the next-generation Jeep Wrangler. With that much power coming from such a small engine, the Hurricane would offer an even higher level of specific output than the 1.75-liter engine in the Alfa Romeo 4C – one of FCA's highest-stressed engines – far eclipsing the 4C's 120 horsepower per liter with 150 hp/l. By way of comparison, the latest 2.0-liter, four-cylinder version of Ford's EcoBoost engine produces "only" 245 hp (122.5 hp/l). The 2.0-liter turbo four in the latest Mercedes-AMG CLA45 and GLA45, however, produces 375 hp. To get so much out of so little an engine, FCA will utilize a twin-scroll turbocharger and variable valve timing. That could make it ideally suited towards a compact performance model, but according to Automotive News, its first application could be in the new the Wrangler. The larger 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 produces 285 hp, nearly as much as the Hurricane will. But with a smaller engine, an eight-speed transmission, and aluminum construction, the new Jeep will likely benefit from dramatically-improved fuel consumption. Related Video:
