A great example of a unique, well thought out, professional rebuild of an Iconic American Classic. This one off
incredible jeep was built utilizing the “K.I.S.S.” theory (“Keep It Strong and Simple”).
The power plant chosen for this project is the venerable Small Block Chevy V8. The NEW 355 CI Engine with vortec
heads produces 375 Ft. Lb. of torque. Built by The Jasper Performance Division of Jasper Engines, it features a 3
Year / 100,000 Mile Transferable Warranty. Just tuned with a 600 CFM Edelbrock Performance Carburetor. It features
a Dual Plane Aluminum Intake Manifold for increased torque!
The Ignition System utilized is the MSD 6-AL. An Optima Deep Cycle Red Top Battery was used as it is ideal for
trucks with winches and provides ultimate starting and deep cycle power to keep you from getting
stranded. A compact High Torque starter fits in nicely and works great.
The Exhaust Features Coated Hooker Headers with true dual custom bent and welded pipes all the way back.
Power is transferred through a TurboHydramatic 400 Transmission with a B&M Ratchet Shifter. This is mated to a New
Process 205 Transfer Case used to turn a 14 Bolt GM Corporate Military Rear Axle w/ 4.88 Gears and a Locking
Differential. The Front Axle is a Dana 44 Posi Tract with Manual Locking Hubs and an ARB high tensile nodular iron
Differential Cover, w/
Magnetic Drain Plug and Magnetic Dipstick to fill and check oil.
Front Brakes are massive Chevy Truck disks w/ vented rotors. Rear brakes are massive drums common to many 1-Ton
Trucks. All Brake Lines done with Stainless Steel Line. The HydroBoost Brake Booster system provides incredible
stopping power.
All Major Drivetrain components were chosen for Strength, Reliability, Availability, and Simple Maintenance without
ridiculous future expense!
The Professionally Built Custom Crafted Chassis utilizes stock GM truck components with the original Jeep frame cut
and notched in. Gussets and strengtheners were also used providing Much More Strength and Rigidity than a 1-Ton
truck. Stainless Steel and Grade 8 Fasteners used throughout. No Lift Kit was used or needed for this Jeep to sit
over 14” Higher than a stock Wrangler. Wheels are 8 Lug, 16.5” Diameter x 12” Wide. Tires are 38” High
Super Swamper TSL’s. Front and Rear Bumpers were Custom Fabricated using ¼” thick box steel. A 12,000 LB Winch
was incorporated into the design of the Front Bumper w/ a Stinger Winch Guard and Auxiliary LED Light Bar. The Rear
Bumper is made with a Receiver Hitch for Accessories and Towing.
Fabricating the Tilt Front End required 2 Jeep Hoods and the front grill to be spliced together, addressing the
stretched wheelbase. Front Fenders were Hand Crafted from aluminum and the flat tops were well thought out for
their utility and strength.
What sets this Jeep apart from other custom builds is that it still retains it’s Factory Original Paint on the
Body and Half Doors (included with sale). Rare Top Quality glass slider windows are included with the half doors.
No Rust & No Accident Damage EVER!
The Interior is also Factory Original and in Excellent Condition at almost 30 years old! The Upholstery, Dash, &
Carpet are in Amazing Shape! Custom Weatherproof Floor Mats are included and fit nicely. Premium Auto Meter
Tachometer and Speedometer Gauges w/ Carbon Fiber Faces were Neatly installed in the Original Dash. All other
Gauges are Original Jeep and operate well! Heater and Blower work extremely well. Audio System uses a JVC Head Unit
w/ Dual 4” Coaxial speakers in the overhead sound bar and 6”x 9” three way speakers mounted in movable
speaker enclosures with plenty of extra speaker wire. The rear speakers were made to be placed on
the outer rear fenders of the Jeep for surround sound at campfires and gatherings.
Comes with Complete fold-able Soft Top Assembly and a tan soft top.
A Rare Combination of Simplicity and Drive-ability not found in most other modified Jeeps. It will drive easily
over sand, climb up hills, and keep up with traffic on the highway. The stretched and widened wheelbase truly
delivers a better ride than a stock Wrangler. Equally at Home, at Work, On Road, or Off Road with No Modern
Electronic modules to get you stranded in this Jeep.

FCA recalling 323,000 cars for wiring, software issues

Mon, Jul 25 2016

The Basics: Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) is conducting a voluntary recall for an estimated 323,361 cars in the US. The affected vehicles were built after September 23, 2014 and include: the 2015 Chrysler 200, Ram ProMaster City, Jeep Renegade, and 2014 and 2015 Jeep Cherokees. The Problem: An insufficient crimp in the vehicles' wiring harness may result in a solenoid fault code, which could cause the engine to stop. The loss of power could lead to an accident. Injuries/Deaths: None reported. The Fix: FCA will update the affected vehicles' software and replace wire harnesses, as needed. According to FCA, owners that experience the problem can temporarily resolve the issue by restarting the vehicle. If you own one: FCA is reaching out to owners to schedule a service. Related Video: Statement: Wire Harness Crimp July 22, 2016 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - FCA US LLC is voluntarily recalling an estimated 323,361 vehicles in the U.S. to update certain software and replace wire harnesses, as needed. An examination of warranty data led to an FCA US investigation that discovered an insufficient crimp in a wire harness. Such a crimp may lead to a solenoid fault code that can cause propulsion loss. The Company is unaware of any related injuries or accidents. Most vehicles in the recall population will not experience this fault code over their lifetimes. However, should the condition occur, it can typically be temporarily resolved by stopping the vehicle and re-starting its engine. Accordingly, FCA US urges customers to heed the instructions on their recall notices. Affected are certain model-year 2015 Chrysler 200 midsize sedans, Ram ProMaster City small vans, Jeep Renegade and Cherokee SUVs. Certain model-year 2014 Cherokees are also affected. A change made in the harness-manufacturing process eliminates the need to recall any vehicle built after Sept. 23, 2014. An estimated 35,511 additional vehicles in Canada are included in the campaign; as are 7,067 in Mexico; and 43,927 outside the NAFTA region. Customers will be advised when they may schedule service. 8 cars we're most looking forward to driving in 2015

Mon, Jan 5 2015

Now that 2014 is officially in the books, it's time to look ahead. And following our list of the cars we liked best last year, we're now setting our sights at the hot new metal that's coming our way in 2015. Some of these, we've already seen. And some are still set to debut during the 2015 auto show season. But these are the machines that keep us going – the things on the horizon that we're particularly stoked to drive, and drive hard. Jeep Renegade Not the Chevrolet Corvette Z06. Not the Ford Mustang GT350. Not the new John Cooper Works Mini. Nope, I'm looking forward to the adorable, trail-rated Jeep Renegade. And that's because I really, really, really like our long-term Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. I do not, however, care too much for the Cherokee's looks, and I really don't like its $38,059 price tag. The Renegade Trailhawk, meanwhile, promises much of the same rough-and-tumble character as its big brother, but at what we expect will be a more reasonable price (I'm personally wagering on the baby Jeep's off-road model starting at no more than $23,000). With a 2.4-liter four-cylinder and a nine-speed automatic, it should also be a bit easier to fill than the V6-powered Cherokee. Also, I can't help but love the way the Renegade looks. It's like someone took a Wrangler, squished it by 50 percent and then handed it off to George Clinton for a healthy dose of funk. The interior, with its bright, expressive trims and color schemes should also be a really nice place to spend some time. I'll be attending the Renegade's launch later this month, so I'll have a much shorter wait than my colleagues. Here's hoping the baby Jeep lives up to my expectations. – Brandon Turkus Associate Editor Mazda MX-5 Miata Here's an uncomfortable truth: I'd rather spend a day driving a properly sorted Mazda MX-5 Miata of any generation on a winding road than I would nearly any other vehicle, regardless of power, price or prestige. It's not just that I prize top-down driving and enjoy the Miata's small size because it gives me more road to play with. I just find there's more motoring joy to be had with high-fidelity handling and an uncorrupted car-to-driver communication loop than I do with face-distorting power or grip – let alone valet-stand gravitas. But perhaps most of all, I love Miatas because they can deliver that level of feedback and driver reward at modest speeds that won't put the locals on edge or endanger lives – you can use more of the car more of the time.

Next Jeep Wrangler to get hybrid option?

Wed, Jan 21 2015

This may the year a Jeep hybrid is officially announced. Really. The Chrysler division may finally be making plans for its first gas-electric powertrain to help boost the group's fuel economy, says UK's Auto Express, citing Mike Manley, CEO of FCA's Jeep division. The guinea pig of sorts may be the Wrangler, which moved almost a quarter-million units in the US last year. The Wrangler could get a hybrid drivetrain by the 2017 model year, as Jeep executives look to maintain the model's feel and torque while boosting its fuel economy. The Wrangler gets a pretty paltry 18 miles per gallon combined out of its six-cylinder mill, so the bar's set pretty low. Of course, we've heard this talk before. In late 2013, Chrysler Asia-Pacific product planning manager Steve Bartoli told Australia's Drive that a Jeep hybrid was pretty much inevitable, though not much has been mentioned since. FCA could use all the help it can get in the fuel economy department. The group brought up the rear among automakers when it came to fuel efficiency, the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) said in its EPA Trends report released last October. The FCA models combined for a 21.1 miles per gallon average for the 2014 model year, compared to the 24.2 mpg overall industry average. The group's only electric vehicle in the US is the low-volume Fiat 500e, though the company may start selling a plug-in hybrid version of its Chrysler Town & Country by the end of the year.
