1988 Jeep that turns heads- you will not beleive it is a 88!! Jeep was completely rebuilt just over 3 years ago.-
First the outside- top was replaced and a new acrylic black paint job that looks amazing. New outer cage top was installed and push bar on the front. Chrome grill insert and spot lights were put on and a new smitty built rear bumper. A new set of 33 pro comps and procomp rims were installed ($1800.00) and a 3 inch body lift and 2.5 inch spring lift was added. Sits up very nicely and rides great. Motor, transmission and new gears in rear were rebuilt or replaced. Jeep has the 2.5l motor which is not a speed demon- but with the new 456 gears in the drivetrain allow it to run in the 90's on the highway (even with the big tires). TV is installed in the dash along with 2 10 inch subs behind the backseat and 2 crunch amps pushing them- along with 2 6X9's and sound bar above your head-- in other words..... THIS THING ROCKS!! seats are in fair condition and inside has been rhino lined. This Jeep has no rust in it what so ever. (one of the reason I chose to rebuild this one). Speedo works sometimes and sometimes acts up- (bad cable) but it does not effect the way it runs, so total miles may be off. Just never got around to replacing the cable. --overall however a very sporty and nice driver.. would make a student a very nice ride.
Now for the mud guys.. this Jeep was never built to be taken mudding or rocking (hence the gear change). I built it as a driver and to take on the beach. The front axel has been removed from the tranny in an effort to make it go faster- 4 wheel drive works but I was more concerned with highway speed. If you are buying it for rocking or mudding you will need to replace the gears back to a lower gear.
Now for the fun part- I cannot- will not hold it or take payments or trades on it. If you have zero feedback please contact me before bidding or I will cancel the bid. Cannot ship or arrange shipping overseas and it is for sale locally so auction may end at anytime. This really is a nice Jeep, and I hate to sell it- but it sits in the garage far more often than with me behind the wheel.
Good luck and happy bidding.

2015 Jeep Renegade brings the cute
Tue, 04 Mar 2014The jig is up, the noose is out, we finally found it: the Renegade that Jeep has made, retrieved for a bounty.
Okay, enough of that. Meet the Renegade - Jeep's cute little compact crossover that makes its official debut here at the Geneva Motor Show. We recently brought you a massive Deep Dive into what makes the Renegade tick, and we're now getting our first live look at the tiny Jeep, live from its coming out party in Switzerland.
With the exception of associate editor Jonathon Ramsey, who doesn't know what he's talking about, we at Autoblog are kind of smitten with the little Jeep - it's a really unique package, featuring details that really make it kind of special (notice that jerry can pattern in the taillights, for example). Jeep will offer the Renegade with either a 1.4-liter turbo-four (from the Fiat 500L) or a 2.4-liter naturally aspirated four (from the Dodge Dart), with either a six-speed manual transmission or a nine-speed automatic. There will even be a Trailhawk version with four-wheel drive - properly trail-rated, to boot. The Renegade also features a nifty new My Sky removable roof panel system, giving this little cutie sort of a baby Wrangler feel.
2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee probed by NHTSA for brake problems
Sun, Jun 7 2015Remember how Toyota got in all kinds of trouble over unintended acceleration? Well, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating Jeep over unintended braking. NHTSA has announced a probe of 20,000 Grand Cherokee SUVs from model year 2014. Nine complaints have been received, with owners alleging that their Jeeps have issued brake warnings or gone ahead and applied the brakes when no threat was presented. Each complaint alleges that the vehicles have exhibited this behavior repeatedly, leading to a "sudden reduction in vehicle speed in traffic." So basically, a system designed to prevent accidents could actually increase the odds of a collision happening. Speaking to the Associated Press, Jeep spokesperson Eric Mayne said owners whose vehicles are exhibiting this behavior should report to dealers, while adding that the automatic braking/adaptive cruise control systems can be deactivated. Related Video: Scroll down for the official bulletin on the investigation from NHTSA. Date Investigation Opened: JUN 01, 2015 Date Investigation Closed: Open NHTSA Action Number: PE15021 Component(s): FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE Manufacturer: Chrysler (FCA US LLC) SUMMARY: The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) has received nine complaints alleging inappropriate activations of the autonomous braking system in model year (MY) 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles. All nine reports alleged unexpected braking incidents preceded by collision imminent brake warnings and resulting in sudden reduction in vehicle speed in traffic. Two complaints reported autonomous braking incidents with no objects on the road resulting in rapid increase in brake force and anti-lock braking system (ABS) activations. The complaints alleged experiencing multiple events at different locations and road conditions. A Preliminary Evaluation has been opened to assess the frequency, scope and consequences of the alleged defect. Hank the Autodog takes a ride in the long-term 2014 Jeep Cherokee
Wed, May 13 2015Autoblog readers, meet Hank, my 40-pound, six-year-old Shar Pei and Staffordshire Terrier mix, a combination also known as a Pit Bull. Pit Bulls and car enthusiasts have a lot in common. They're a little intimidating to your average man on the street, but at the end of the day all they want to do is feel the breeze in their ears. Dogs who love car rides are the ultimate enthusiasts, and Hank especially is a canine connoisseur of cars. There is nothing Hank likes more than to hop in and go for a ride. With an owner like me, he has developed refined tastes when it comes to cars. As our long-term Jeep Cherokee is about to leave the Autoblog Garage, and since the weather is warming back up, it's the perfect time to give our Autodog one last spin in his favorite Jeep. We wanted to see what a car ride looks like from a dog's perspective. Luckily, we have a cache of GoPros and plenty of cars on hand to give Hank one last chance to go for a window-down ride. After many pets, treats, and drives around town, we put together this video montage of Hank's best day ever.
