This is a great place to start on a classic GW. I am selling this 1990 model "as is" for my father. The frame and body on this jeep are very solid and are nearly rust free. It would make a great total restoration project or a cool ride with just a quick engine swap. I will do my best to describe this vehicle accurately below. It was (barely) driven to where it is sitting this past September but is currently in NON RUNNING condition with the carb removed and in the cargo area. That is also when these pictures were taken but it hasn't moved since. It will have to be trailered to your location. The carb was flooding out, it has a bad rear main seal oil leak and a distinct rattle when running. A complete engine rebuild will be neccessary. The rear tail light wiring harness has been removed and is in a bag in the back floorboard. It was starting to fail in places and needs some TLC/ re-assembly. It is missing one AC hose, the aluminum trim from the extreme rear edge of the roof and one AC vent. The front grill has been squished on the passengers side by the headlight assembly. It originally had a rear wind deflector that has been removed. For some reason when you hook up the battery the buzzer that tells you the key is in the ignition when your door is open comes on and won't go off. The paint is oxidized, has surface rust on the hood and roof, and will need to be replaced. The fabric from the headliner was coming down and has been removed. The front seats are cracked and showing their age and there is a bare spot in the carpet in the back floorboard. Windshield is cracked. The drivers side rear tire has a slow air leak. With the exception of the above negative points, this Jeep has minimal surface rust and is a straight, very re-buildable project. I started rebuilding an 88 several years ago that was in much worse shape than this one. I wish I had waited a couple years for this as a starting place. I have a clear title in hand. |

Texan finds creative way to clear highway fast lane
Tue, Jun 14 2016Few things are as infuriating as someone driving slow in the fast lane. A Jeep driver from Texas found himself in just such a predicament near Fort Worth, and came up with a creative way to urge the offending lane-blocker to get a move on. Machine, a YouTuber and off-road enthusiast from the Lone Star State, posted some dashcam footage to his account back in March which showed him stuck behind a slow driver. He was attempting to pass a slow-moving bobtail Peterbilt tractor when he got hung up by a white Ford Econoline squatting in the passing lane. On his YouTube page, Machine stated that the van, which apparently belonged to a plumbing company, was traveling along between 60 and 70 miles per hour along a stretch of highway with a stated speed limit of 70 mph. Confronted with the slow-moving van blocking the left lane, and traffic in the right lane, Machine called the number on the back of the Econoline and politely asked him to get out of the way. In the Econoline, the passenger picked up and was momentarily confused as Machine asked him to ask his driver to move out of the lane and let traffic pass. The van sped up, passed a tractor-trailer, and got out of the way, much to the relief of the traffic behind him. According to CBS news, 38 states have laws on the books to punish slow drivers squatting in the passing lane. In five of those states, the fine is upwards of $1000, and 22 states classify it as a misdemeanor. Jeep Yuntu three-row crossover spied testing on public roads
Tue, Jan 2 2018Jeep is doing very well, especially compared to most other FCA brands. Still, there's a three-row sized hole in the automaker's lineup. In April 2017, the Jeep Yuntu made its debut at the Shanghai Auto Show. While that plug-in hybrid was just a concept, we now have a second set of spy shots showing that a road-going Yuntu is deep into development. Even with the black and white camouflage, there's no mistaking this for anything other than a Jeep. The new model looks like a larger Grand Cherokee with styling elements cribbed from the new Compass and refreshed Cherokee, though the profile unsurprisingly reminds us of the Dodge Durango (essentially a three-row Grand Cherokee). The thin headlights and taillights have made it over from the concept, though both are toned down for the production version. A three-row Jeep is all but officially confirmed for the US. The real question is what it will be called. We doubt Americans will fall head over heels for a American vehicle named the Yuntu. Reviving the Wagoneer or Grand Wagoneer nameplates seems far more likely. We can only speculate on powertrains, but considering the Yuntu concept was a plug-in hybrid, expect some flavor of electrification. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. 2019 Jeep Renegade reveals front fascia details
Mon, Apr 23 2018Over the past few months, details of the new 2019 Jeep Renegade subcompact crossover SUV have been trickling out via spy shots. This latest batch show that the front fascia, specifically the front bumper, is getting a number of subtle changes. Among the more noticeable tweaks are the new side vents in the bumper. They've been given a triangular design. Besides offering a nice chunky look, they also encompass the turn signals. This is a cleaner, better integrated look than the current model, which just leaves those indicators in their own little spots in the bumper. The foglights have changed, too. They're now significantly larger, and sit farther inboard in the main grille in the bumper. Moving up in the fascia, we see that the Renegade is getting some new headlights. At least on this model, there's an LED daytime running light halo in the headlamps. It also has a horizontal insert that appears to house an LED headlight element just like that on the new Wrangler. We've seen other prototypes with conventional halogen reflector headlights like on the current model, and we expect they will continue to be used on lower-spec models. There aren't many other changes to see. The rear of the truck looks roughly the same, as do the flanks. From past prototypes, we know that it will continue to have a massive touchscreen option for the infotainment. There also may be a hybrid model. It could be a very mild electric-assist like that on the four-cylinder Wrangler and the V8 and V6 Ram 1500s, or it could be something more. We expect to see the new Renegade revealed by the end of the year at the earliest, and certainly by the end of the next auto show season. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party.
