You are bidding on a 1990 Jeep Wagoneer that is amazing working order. This vehicle has been serviced from head to toe within the last year and has been treated with TLC its entire life. Also, both the exterior and interior are in great shape. The seats are in amazing condition, as you can see from the pictures. The exterior color is dark blue and the interior color is a tan/camel color. The mileage on the vehicle is now 152,043.5. I bought the vehicle as a gift for my husband in February 2013. My husband wanted a Jeep Wagoneer for he and our two dogs to drive on the weekends. I searched for over six months before I found this Wagoneer (it is hard to find a Jeep Wagoneer in good condition that is also affordable.) The mileage on the Wagoneer, at the time I purchased the vehicle, was approximately 151,800. I purchased the vehicle from Platinum Whole-Auto, Inc., in Bellevue, Washington. The vehicle was listed for $10,998.00 and I paid $10,690.00 (with shipping) for the vehicle. I can provide the winning bidder with a copy of my purchase order showing these details.

From the paperwork and my research, I have learned that the vehicle was purchased, new, by the original owner in 1989 or 1990 and then sold a year later. The next person that bought the vehicle in 1991 or so lived in California, however, he kept the vehicle in his garage at his vacation home in Lake Tahoe. The owner was a surfer (that is why the tow hitch cover is a surf board, which I will leave on the vehicle when I sell it). The vehicle stayed in Lake Tahoe the rest of its life until November 2012 when the owner donated the Wagoneer to a charity. The charity auctioned the vehicle for cash and the vehicle was purchased by a dealership. Then, I purchased the vehicle from the dealership in February 2013.

This vehicle was kept in great condition and serviced often. The vehicle is virtually rust-free. Additionally, within the last year, the vehicle has had several items repaired and/or replaced. In January 2013, before I purchased the vehicle, the vehicle went to a Midas shop and had $3,231.26 worth of work done to the vehicle. I will provide the winning bidder with a copy of said receipt of work. (Note that the vehicle had, at that time, 151,759 on the odometer.). The work done by the Midas shop included: Removed and replaced two rear wheel cylinders; flushed brake hydraulic system; tuned-up spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor package; replaced ignition wires; replaced distributor cap and rotor; set timing and adjusted idle speed; inspected air filter and PCV valve; inspected belts, hoses and vacuum hose condition; inspected fuel injector throttle assembly or carb throat and choke for cleanliness and free operation; brake inspection; replaced two sets of market lights; replaced turn signal bulbs; removed and replaced front sway bar bushing; removed and replaced front and rear shock absorbers; battery protection package; two wheel tire package that included replacement of both front tires, along with mount, balance replacement of valve stem, and setting of air pressure; computerized 4-wheel alignment; inspected steering and suspension system; inspected tires and set tire pressure; inspected wheel bearing play; performed computer alignment; set front and rear adjustable angles to manufacturers specification where needed; removed and replaced exhaust manifold; removed and replaced front brake rotors; stalled rear brake shoes (there is a lifetime warranty on brake shoes and 12 month/12,000 miles on labor and other parts); and removed and replaced fuel filter.

When the vehicle arrived at my house in February 2013, I took the vehicle to the local Jeep dealership (then called Joe Usry Jeep- now called Roundtree Jeep) in Jackson, Mississippi, for inspection and any needed service. I spent $2,463.44 on February 18, 2013. I will provide the winning bidder with a copy of the receipt. The following was done: State of Mississippi Inspection; repaired rattle sound inside passenger front door; replaced steering gear and steering stabilizer; brake inspection; checked and repaired/replaced all power windows and doors in the vehicle that were not working (all are now in proper working order); replaced all belts on the vehicle; replaced all wiper blades; replaced all lights on the vehicles that were not working (all lights are now in proper working order); and replaced left and right valve cover gaskets. *Please note that in October 2013, the vehicle was taken back to Roundtree Jeep because the valve cover gaskets were leaking oil. The dealership determined that the valves were not properly aligned when they were installed. This was under warranty and the dealership replaced the new cork gaskets with new rubber gaskets free of charge. I will provide the winning bidder with a copy of this receipt. Also, the service manager kept the Wagoneer for a week after the gaskets were replaced and drove the vehicle back and forth to work to make sure the problem was resolved.

The vehicle has been kept in our garage for the past year. It has been regularly cleaned and waxed. The only thing that we have not done to the Jeep that we planned on doing was converting the air conditioning/heating system. This will either need to be done or the air conditioning/heating system will be need to be serviced by someone licensed to have Freon. At the present time, the air and heating are not working because the system has to be either serviced or convert. I was told by the Jeep dealership that it would be between 400-500 to convert the system and that that would be best option.

We are very sad to part with our Wagoneer, however, my husband has found that he does not have time to drive the vehicle like he would like to (he is out of town half the year for his work). It would be better to sell the Wagoneer than have it sit in our garage. Hopefully, another Jeep Wagoneer enthusiast can enjoy this beautiful vehicle. After taking our Christmas card pictures in Jeep (which turned out to be the cutest pictures ever), we are ready to part with our "Woody."  Feel free to message me with any questions. If you would like to discuss the vehicle with me over the phone, I will be happy to provide you with my phone number.

Good luck and happy bidding!  Winning bidder is responsible for either picking up the vehicle in Jackson, Mississippi, or having the vehicle shipped.  Winning bidder is also responsible for any/all shipping cost.  Since I have had experience shipping a vehicle, if the winning bidder has questions regarding shipping, please let me know and I can try to answer any questions or recommend shipping companies.  In regards to payment, I ask that any bidders discuss payment with me before hand.  I accept paypal, cashier's check, and finance company check or personal check (if using a check, the check must clear before the vehicle is shipped or picked up).  A non-refundable deposit of $500.00 must be paid, via paypal, 24 hours after the close of the auction.  After that, the winning bidder must be communicating with me to make sure the remaining payment is made promptly. If, after 7 days of the close of the auction the remaining balance has not be received, then the vehicle will be relisted and the winning bidder will not be refunded the $500.00 deposit (unless the bidder and I have agreed otherwise).  Also, this sell is final.  The vehicle is not returnable.  The winning bidder is responsible for inspecting the vehicle prior to purchase.

China orders Jeep to investigate Wrangler fire risk

Mon, 06 Jan 2014

It's been some time since we've heard anything about fires related to the Jeep Wrangler (foreign or domestic), but it sounds like the go-anywhere SUV could be in hot water once again in China. Bloomberg is reporting that the Chinese government is ordering Jeep to investigate the matter and, in the meantime, also recommending Wrangler owners to not drive their vehicles in "extreme conditions" due to a "relatively high risk" of catching on fire.
There is no indication as to how many vehicles or which model years are affected, but the previous fire problems in both the US and China - which led to investigations but no recalls - were traced back to automatic transmission fluid leaks. The article, however, does not say what the potential problem is this time around as Jeep has not released a comment on the matter. The official notice, in Chinese, can be found here.

Fiesta-sized Jeep coming in 2014

Wed, 03 Jul 2013

We've heard rumors before about a new, baby Jeep to slot below the new-for-2014 Cherokee (pictured) in the automaker's lineup. Now, Edmunds is reporting that the new crossover will arrive sometime in 2014, and will be about the same size as the Ford Fiesta. This currently unnamed vehicle will effectively replace both the Compass and Patriot in the Jeep lineup.
Speaking to Edmunds, Jeep CEO Mike Manley said that the new, small Jeep will be assembled in Italy and marketed globally beginning sometime next year. Manley did not provide many details on the new model, but did say that it will be 4.2-meters (165 inches) long. The Cherokee, by comparison, is 4.6-meters long (181 inches). Furthermore, Edmunds reports that while the new small Jeep will offer diesel power in other markets, there are no plans for an oil-burning version here in the US.
Many other automakers are exploring this smaller crossover segment here in the US. General Motors recently launched the Buick Encore, which is loosely based on the Chevrolet Sonic subcompact's platform. Ford has already launched its Fiesta-based EcoSport in other markets, and has reportedly been pondering the idea of offering it in the US, as well.

Jeep Wrangler diesel likely after 2015 model refresh

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

We automotive journalists aren't always the right people to ask about whether a US-spec vehicle should or should not be offered with a diesel powertrain (hint: the answer is usually "YES"). But when it comes to the iconic, off-road-ready Jeep Wrangler, we aren't the only ones who have been clamoring for an oil-burning engine behind that famous seven-slat grille. To that end, it appears there's good news on the horizon, as Jeep CEO Mike Manley recently told Ward's Auto that the "Wrangler is on the radar to get (a) diesel."
"I'm confident that the Grand Cherokee will show just how large a demand there is for diesel, and I think what that will do is reinforce the need for us to target Wrangler as a vehicle that can take a diesel," Manley told Ward's. The most rugged of Jeeps is scheduled to get an overhaul around 2015-16, and the diesel powertrain will likely be introduced around that time.
This year alone, Chrysler will be adding a diesel engine to the Grand Cherokee SUV, as well as the Ram 1500 pickup and Promaster utility van.
